It answers practical questions faster than documentation does, and the archive going back years is the reason it stays irreplaceable. The cost is the ad load and a recommendation feed built for time spent rather than for what you came to find. Pros YouTube is where I go for video, and no other platform holds a comparable catalogue. When I need to see how something works rather than read about it, someone has already recorded it, usually a person who hit the same problem I did. Playback speed control turns a forty minute recording into fifteen. The player behaves the same on a laptop and a phone, and videos stay up for years, so a link saved a while back still opens. Cons The ad load has grown to the point where a short video carries interruptions longer than the part I came for. Search rewards recent and popular over exact, so tracking down a specific older video means working around the algorithm rather than with it.
