Very useful to discover how you spend money on AWS and helpful to setup alerts to help you understand if something is going wrong.

It could go much more in details to let you understand precisely where your money are spent (which machine, which network, etc)

Pros

Once it's setup you can get very granular detail on all of your AWS spending and it's the only place you can actually see all of your resources! You can also link it with AWS Athena to query the data.

Cons

I don't understand why it's not enabled by default, it seems like something that everyone using AWS would want to have setup

My overall experience has been very positive. AWS CE has been extremely effective at allowing me to lower my net AWS bill.

Pros

AWS Cost Explorer allows me to minimize how much I pay for AWS. It's reports make it clear what pricing model gives me the most value.

Cons

Steep learning curve for complex report, Difficult to do real time data analysis as there's a lag in data propagation.

AWS Cost Explorer is a good tool to track and control cloud spending. It provides good value, seamless integration with AWS tools, and advanced data management features. It is hindered by a high learning curve, occasional glitches, and low support responsiveness. All in all, it's good for cost awareness but can be improved in usability and support.

Pros

• Provides good value for money since it's part of AWS and evades extra licensing costs. • It becomes second nature to use after you are familiar with the user interface; filtering and grouping are powerful. • Strong data management with detailed breakup on service, tags, or accounts. • Cloud integrations with other AWS services such as Budgets and CloudWatch enable better monitoring of costs.

Cons

• The experience with customer support is sluggish in relation to the swiftness of matters concerning expenditure. • The user interface is occasionally bug-prone and glitchy when importing big datasets while exporting from report sheets. • It is not so user-friendly for new customers, and service-level detail occasionally requires specific endeavors. and Reliable and stable within AWS ecosystem, but limited to AWS only

Clear Visuals: Graphs and filters help break down cost by service, account, or tag. Save views for recurring analysis (monthly, daily, hourly). Basic projections for upcoming costs and usage trends. Linked Account View: Consolidated billing visibility in orgs. Tag-based Filtering: Useful for chargeback or internal cost tracking.

Cons

Slow UI and it can be laggy with large data sets or filters. Limited Granularity and hard to drill into deep resource-level costs. Up to 24-hour lag in usage reporting. Not great for detailed budgeting or long-term predictions. Not ideal for teams wanting to script or integrate reports (you'll need Cost & Usage Reports + Athena or APIs).

I liked the functionality of estimating a cost for a product you use or that you already use, making it possible to create reports and analyses.

With AWS cost explorer we are managing our monthly estimated budget for services and how much time needs to be spent on which client.We get the exact budget and estimated budget for the month with region-wise separated.

There is a need to add service wise estimates because as of now only monthly estimate is there not service-wise.which will help user to more focus how to save money and stop the unnecessary service
