Head Of Strategic Marketing Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "An online learning platform to stay up to date" November 28, 2022 4.0 I have used Coursera for more than 10 years, in general I can say that it is an excellent platform for professionals to be updated in their certain areas, this helps companies to have competitive employees. Pros What I like the most is the focused experience that Coursera offers to study and provide training on current courses for the company team. This type of platform is excellent for the industry since they have courses on current topics that improve the professional capacity of the employees, the positive points that I could highlight are: easy access to the online learning course, it has a good reading mode, it has a good system for giving feedback to students, they are open to receiving recommendations from users and They are always updating with new online courses. Cons Although it is a useful Platform, it has some weak points, such as the time it takes to issue the certificates, in my opinion they take too long, the duration of some courses is very short compared to the content of the course, this obviously depends on how much is known about the subject, but from my point of view, the most complex courses should last longer. Review Source EM Emily M. accounting Internet Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Good courses but with Errors" November 15, 2023 4.0 I think coursera would be fine for general knowledge or maybe even very good depending on the course chosen, but the course we chose was dated and had errors throughout. I would be open to trying again in the future for different courses. Pros Coursera has lots of courses available, and the price is good as is ability to manage account without having to get support. Cons We only used coursera a couple of months, but ended up cancelling due to the quality of the course we had selected. There were many other courses available, but was in need of training for one particular course, and it felt dated and there were several errors throughout, along with some general glitches which made training difficult so we cancelled. I think overall our team benefitted from using this platform and was a good investment in employee development. Pros The quality of courses here is topnotch. I also like the wide range of courses available. Cons Coursera is a bit of a passive learning style. The assignments aren't too engaging. Also, The "Essential Skills Playbook" on Coursera for Business increases employees' buy-in and engagement with the courses on Coursera. Pros Coursera for Business is an affordable off-the-shelf professional development solution. The platform has thousands of high-value training courses, guided projects, and professional certificates for almost every subject and business field. It allows companies to subscribe and access a high-value course catalog then employees are free to start learning online and at their pace. The platform provides businesses with vital information about in-demand skills and market insights to encourage employees to learn and earn professional certificates and share them on their social media profiles. Cons I’m a big fan of the Coursera platform. And I think that The platform user interface needs more improvement to deliver learners a much better learning experience. You might just be keen on selecting the right course with the right instructor for you. You may refer to the course ratings before enrolling to a course to see if it fits your needs and your learning style. Pros I love that there are legitimate certifications that you could get after you have finished the course. I am taking this Google Certified courses and I am impressed with the content they came up with. From test quizzes, graded quizzes, peer reviews and discussion forums, learners are challenged even though it's an online-based course that will not significantly differ from the challenges you will get from a face-to-face classroom. What's best is that you can proceed at your own pace - especially for full-time working persons. Some courses also present perks after you finished them like free trial on a specific software. Cons Peer reviews are fun and presents a collaborative way on learning based on other learner's constructive feedback, yet it can also take a lot of time to be tagged as complete since it is dependent if other learners have already reviewed and graded your work based on a rubric. So for example, I have finished the quiz for the course's final week and all of the activities but the peer review, the entire course will not be tagged as complete yet because the peer review section has not yet been graded. This drags the completion of the whole course and I wish there would be a way for it not to be like that since other learners access Coursera at different timeframes. Review Source MS Monalisha S.
