I use it to design t shirts, e-book pages, photo shop photographs, social media graphics and more. It's much easier to use than a pro editor like Adobe Photoshop. You can't go wrong with a premium membership. You get access to everything! Pros I have been a Pic Monkey user for a long time. They have transitioned with the changing times to offer more to their customers. I still love the opportunity to use the cloning tool in my photos. New feature I love is the transparent background for png images. The Best part of Pic Monkey is that everything on the site is available for commercial license use. I love this for creating items that I actually sell online. Cons I had been grandfathered in to a lower price basic membership. For a long time a paid membership was the premium membership. Now I have to pay even more, to get all the features I want. But I am because I use Pic Monkey all the time. Pic Monkey is similar to Canva, but there are enough photography tools that canva doesn't have that make a premium membership at both desirable. Review Source Giuseppina E. January 14, 2020 5.0 A great tool giving excellent value for money and saving me hours of time. Love it! Pros Picmonkey is a great tool for photo editing and creating graphics. It's really quick to use and with a reasonable annual fee is one of my staple business tools. You can upload your own images, fonts and graphics or use the extensive library provided. Picmonkey is intuitive to use. The Picmonkey mobile app is also excellent and offers a few features that the main app doesn't yet support such as background removal. The photo editing features are amazing... blows the competition out of the water and let's you quickly correct that picture that would have been perfect if only you could remove the crumb of cake on your cheek etc! Cons There are a couple of areas that Picmonkey is slightly behind the competition - they don't have as many templates as some of their competitors but the range they do have is good and this can prevent overwhelm! - They don't have the magic resize option that makes one image fit a range of social platforms. However, Canva offers a great deal more if you are trying to create a more complicated branded graphic. Pros Ease of navigation. PicMonkey has always been an easy-to-use offering with a fairly straightforward interface. The fact that the mobile app performs very well is a bonus for me, but it is not something I use that often. Cons For a while, PicMonkey was my go-to choice for image editing for clients. Over time however while PicMonkey has seemed to almost stand still (except on pricing) alternatives such as Canva or even a free to use like iPiccy have overtaken it for me because they offer much more (and actually for less) Review Source LO Lena O. Their options for text, frames, and sizing are all really helpful and relevant. Their quick fix tool for color saturation and clarity also make it really easy to get a good picture quality based on their recommendations. Cons As with any "free" product, PicMonkey as begun to add in ways for their users to pay for their tool which makes sense however sometimes it feels like a very nickle and dime approach. I like that I can add a watermark for those projects that I do not want my pictures being used for other things. Pros I love that I can do a very quick edit and enhancement on pictures immediately. I can also add a watermark if I choose to do so. Cons I do not like that I have to save to a device unless I pay to save it in the app. I find that it should be the other way around. I've been able to create and post my social media branding with confidence that all of my images are visually cohesive. Cons I don't any any cons to list about PicMonkey at this time, as I am fairly new to using the software. Now that I have Photoshop, I don't need it, but sometimes it's nice to just get on and edit one quick photo (it's SUPER fast to do quick edits). Pros I discovered PicMonkey a long time ago when I didn't have any photo editing skills or programs. It was so easy and when I first used it, it didn't require a sign-in. It's changed a lot since then! Cons Honestly, for a free editor, it's decent for non-photographers/editors. The only thing I didn't like was that when I first started using it, almost all the features were free, but over the next few years, they required email memberships (whether you paid or not), and they made a lot fewer features free. Still good, though. It is also quite easy to use and has a lot of function with a good user interface, especially for beginner photo editors who need sophisticated edits but aren't accustomed to using other products. Cons PicMonkey used to be free but now requires monthly payment. On the basic plan you only get 1 GB of cloud storage (which is quite little for avid photo editors) and in comparison to other subscriptions like from Adobe which charge only marginally more for a greater number of high level photo editing products, it doesn't seem worth it. Overall, I'd look elsewhere for more robust image editing. Pros A few years ago, when I first started using PicMonkey, it was the best option I could find for free, online image editing. PicMonkey lets you easily touch up, edit, and format images for just about any use you can imagine. It gives lots of options for color editing and filters especially, making it easy to produce Instagram-ready images. Cons Now that Canva is available, I don't really use PicMonkey anymore: compared to Canva, PicMonkey is clunky and slow, and it's become more and more difficult to use without getting through a paywall. Canva lets you do way more things to your images for free, and it organizes your work more easily. It feels like PicMonkey hasn't been keeping up with the times and updating its functionality as the internet has changed, especially as the internet becomes more image-heavy. Review Source Ashlie P. You can make professional images without costly graphic design software or extensive graphic design training. Cons Picmonkey appears to have done away with their free platform which is a shame. It allows you to create a graphic, but prompts you to purchase the subscription to actually download what you've made which to me isn't very honest or forthcoming. I also have started using other options more due to the site crashing more frequently than not. However, we changed to Canva as you can do more at a more affordable price. Pros Picmonkey is an online photo editor that lets users add text, effects, and graphics to photos very easily. Users can also save their photos in various formats, including JPEG, GIF, and PNG.The tool is easy to use. There is something for everyone, whether it is advanced editing or basic editing features. There are a variety of free and paid templates. I love how easy it is to use and that the app has many cool features. My favorites are the overlays and the stickers. I also love that I can save them as gifs, which helps post on Instagram. Cons Some of the features are only available with premium accounts. The paid account feature is not as user-friendly as the free account feature, and not cheap. With both accounts, there may be slow loading times at times. I used the free version of Picmonkey to edit photos of my products. My review of PicMonkey is a fairly positive one. However, I wish that there was an option to create collages in the app as well.
