Large and small. Pros I did like that all grades, comments, and attendance can all be in one place and does update in real time. Cons I did find it a little bit cumbersome to use at times. It does it's functions, but I don't love it. It can be hard to work with. Pros There wasn't a ton of features that stands out compared to other LMS's. Cons It is not easy to navigate and sometimes it can take a while to learn something new to complete on the platform. It is very user friendly. And even non technical people have an easy time using it. Cons Sometimes the entire system crashes, but this seems to happen less frequently that it did when we first set it up. I did not like the other platforms at first but as I got use to them, blackboard seemed an inferior product. Pros I have use blackboard as a student and as an instructor. The experience is similar but as an instructor I had to input course material as opposed to being a consumer of the educational material. It is relatively easy to use and since it was the first online educational platform I used, it became the standard by which I judge other platforms. Cons I have had to use other platforms like brightspace and canvas. Both are similar to BB but they other platforms seems to have other functionality that is better than BB. For instance Canvas is able to integrate with the universities final grading system so I do not have to double enter final grades, once in BB and again on Canvas. With other platforms I can click once and all grades are entered. Again, fixing issues, along with helping others use the software was my main role. Pros I most had to put out fires with this software, so I only got to hear the complaints. Cons There are a multitude of cons, but that could have been due to how it was setup in the first place. I don't want to hold it against BlackBoard. Cons Blackboard Learn has an easy to use modular structure for building classes, quizzes, discussion boards, and assignments. However, I would like to see more flexibility for designing course shells by integrating videos and content directly into individual modules.
