September 6, 2016 4.0 Pros The most useful feature of this product to me is how easily it pulls in my budgets from Heavy Bid. Also a very nice feature are the many reports that we can use to track our projects. Viewpoint is a great data base and you can easily create custom reports to fit your unique situation. Cons Cost to complete process is cumbersome. It would be better suited to most users if it we were able to simplify the process and not have to use the time consuming process that is now in place. I believe it will provide great information eventually with more knowledge of the program. I am usually pretty good at learning new things but this program was pretty difficult in my opinion to navigate thru and learn it without watching videos or taking any training. Pros It allows more people to access more project information than our previous software and provides many report options. Writing subcontracts directly out of Viewpoint and linking sub billings is a new feature for our company and is very helpful. Cons I want more information in one spot. I feel like I have to open up multiple windows to get a full summary of the information I am looking for. We need more specific reports created for our company. Review Source EL Eric L. Overall pleasant experience. Customer service (although not as good as it was) is very attentive. Cons Cloud service is slow, and updates and progress have lagged behind dates promised. After strong early support, we don't get the same service we used to. Out of the box reporting is lacking relative to other software packages. But that also leads to a heavy footprint and lots of "clutter." Cons Tech support has gone from good to awful. I used to get timely, accurate answers to questions. Now, if I get a response at all there's only a 50-50 chance it will be the right answer. Making the product mobile - without requiring the use of the Viewpoint custom cloud solution - would be great. August 31, 2015 4.0 Pros It is a great way to track all Project cost, documentation, paperwork. Makes it easy for all users to see all aspects of a project in one system. Contracts, Subcontracts, Change Orders, Invoices, Payroll, Equipment, all in one easy to use location. Easy to customize forms. Cons The system allows emails to be sent right from it. However the tracking of emails does not always work. Not all upgrades are user friendly to custom added fields. Review Source CB Christina B. Pros Very easy software to use and I like that you can add modifications/Files, to allow maneuvering around the software a ease. Cons I work with the Accounts Payable side of things and some of the information that I enter when using a purchase order number is time consuming. Often things happen and they have no explanation for why and we have to do the work over again. Pros robust has a lot of reporting capabilities I like it has vacation and HR modules but wish they would take more information from pr than they do Cons Some of the modules don't talk to others making double work I don't like that you can't eliminate things you don't use, such as craft classes etc Review Source TH Todd H. Software is very flexible and can be used by both small and large companies. Easy to export data to other formats. Cons Viewpoint is so customer focused that often they make changes for a small group of customers while the majority of the customers like the current application. I can send in an email, and normally get an ANSWER within hours, not just a call back and require me to repeat everything I've indicated in the email. If I have an urgent need, I can call and someone actually answers the phone! Great customer service. Cons they are adding many new modules that we don't need/want, but we still have to upgrade our version, which sometimes is a pain. Review Source JM Jon M. The support is excellent. They follow through with any issues to make sure you are up to speed and running efficiently. Each module is similar to use, so once you have a comfort level in one module, you can navigate any module. Cons Some times the issues can take a few days to get feedback on. My first experience with Vista was on the accounting side. One of the things I like most about the software is the ease of use. I picked up the basics really quickly and now I'm working on some more if the advanced features. I really like how the different modules and different product work so well with each other. Pros Ease of use, the software is very customizable for your company. I really like the new chat feature. It make it really easy to get quick questions answered. Cons Support it getting much better at replying to issues but some of the more technical questions still take quite some time to get answered. It's not uncommon for it to take a month to get a response on a technical question. Review Source HH Holly H. Simple to use, but does amazing things as far as reporting goes :) The vendor is also great to work with, in my experience they have always been quick to offer help and answer questions. Or even fix a bug when one is found. Cons They don't have all of the features that a lot of other programs have. Some of the steps required have way to many steps required. There on line help is not good at all. Cons training - I wish there were easier ways to connect with other contractors who do the same type of work my company does to "compare notes". Perhaps a set up issue, perhaps incompetent staff with my company, but overall not impressed. Cons The system is not field friendly. Not sure if it was setup incorrectly, or if we purchased the wrong modules. We have spent several months internally and with Viewpoint support trying to get the system to function properly. I need to discuss this with sales and technical. Would like to have Viewpoint come and inventory our system and help ensure we have all the components in place. There are many reports that help to remove guess work from project management. Cons As a comprehensive program that includes many departments, there is so much information available, but a cheat sheet on the most used functions have helped tremendously. Cons It is very difficult to maintain and manage. There are so many separate programs that need to be updated. The support team is great. Cons Bugs that do not get fixed for several months that have a large impact. Absolutely horrific implementation team, we wasted a huge amount of money with their implementation folks before giving up and going with a consultant. The so called experts used their own software's help files constantly to figure it out. Viewpoint corporate did not care at all, and never gave us any money back. Cons Updates aren't always fully functional and we have found that we run behind viewpoint's release pace so that any deployment issues are hopefully resolved before we implement. I am now at a new company at a branch level with less access. Pros Full ERP solution and the ability to access database and get data allowing for analysis and reporting. Cons Reports are not as useful out of the canned system. Most need to be modified to get data needed. Easier way to access data like a data dump that can be sorted and reviewed would ideal.
