Automation provided by Buxfer is an amzing time saver. Pros Comphrehensive integration capabilities with banks and brokers, tons of features, ease of use. UI is a bit old-school, which for me is actually an advantage. Cons From time to time, I experience glitches when syncing with some of financing institutions. It is frustrating not being able to sort out issues. Pros It is great to have a snapshot of income and expenses, as well as a networth picture. Cons My bank accounts synced perfectly up to 2 January 2025. Since that date nothing synced - I have tried on numerous occasions to contact Buxfer support with no luck. Buxfer support is bad. Pros I'm using Buxfer for 10 years now and I'm very satisfied by the various functionalities and the reliability of the software.I really appreciate the graphical analysis as well as the speed of operation even over quite large historical periods.I also find the budgeting and forecasting menus very helpful and powerful.Overall the application is quite powerful and very simple to use. This is the financial application I have kept using for the longest time (>10 years) and I see no reason to change. Cons The only functionality I'm missing is the ability to analyze exchange rate evolution in a multi currency user profile. This seems to be kind of a stretch for the development team. Beyond that I'm very happy with this financial application even though a direct connection to bank accounts would further facilitate the load of data. But lately it has given me endless trouble, which has caused hours of wasted time, trying to sort problems out, and when I asked for help, it was promised, promised, promised over and over again, but no action whatsoever from Buxfer. I would change to another tracking app in a heartbeat if I could find a good replacement. Pros I loved Buxfer when I started using it years ago, it did everything I wanted. Cons But recently I have had problem after problem, and no help at all to sort out the problems......duplicate transactions, problems with synch.... When it's running it's easy, the software checks for new transactions. My main reason to use it is to keep tabs on expenses and budgeting; there are other features I haven't used. Pros Easy, well explained. Prompt replies from the help centre. Cons Repeated emails when I've blown a budget. Once is enough. Trying to find supporting information for a tax return (income tax) can be a bit fiddly. I'd not be without it. Pros I have been using Buxfer for my personal accounts for over 10 years. The customer support is excellent, very responsive and quick resolutions. There is good reconciliation and automated rules that make this product very helpful.
