Pros It has the right features and is easy to setup. It took less than 10 minutes to publish all of the jobs I had waiting in the queue. Cons Nothing! It is a fantastic tool for scheduling my cron jobs. It is fast to setup and works reliably, every time. When you try to view job logs, the logs that are currently available in Heroku are pulled - and Heroku doesn't store all logs either. We recommend using a logging add-on to remediate this. What you'll always be able to see in Cron To Go is the job history - executions that succeeded or failed (and failure exit code) - and job history retention depends on your plan. The Webhooks for Slack alerts are really helpful and trustful, and save engineering time on developing alerting monitoring. Cons In alerts - filters, it's not possible to have "OR" clauses to decide on which jobs to trigger alerts, there's only "AND". Also, it's not possible to tie alerts to specific jobs (at least I didn't find out how to do that), alerts are tied to commands. I am also not aware if it integrates well with version control (through code), if not, would be a good add. Once our dev set up the environment I can, as a data scientist, do my job autonomously. Cons When some job fails it can happen that the logs are absent which can make debugging a bit hard. The way Heroku has implemented 2 Factor Authentication has caused a few problems. I had to rely on someone else sharing their device with me to sign in. The best part is their support is top notch. Every time I had a question, they were very prompt in answering and making sure their docs were updated.I've used other libraries like clockwork to set up our own scheduler, but crontogo replaces that with very little cost. Cons I realize that crontogo integrates with heroku, sometimes the jobs fails to start with a 143 error - which means that it received a SIGTERM from Heroku.
