I rarely need to worry about a cron I've set up correctly. I like the cron settings description, it helps me to confirm my setting has the correct syntax. Cons I'd probably make the pause/resume functions into their own buttons next to each cron entry, rather than hide them behind the three dots. That's one click less, which is a UX win. Reason for choosing Cron To Go the admin interface seemed more intuitive than its peers. Also seemed good value for $$. We have had no downtime issues and it runs our tasks exactly when they're scheduled to run. Those are by far the most important things for a scheduling application. Cons If you aren't familiar with Cron, I could see how the UI could be a tad confusing at first. Rather than using the cron syntax, it would be nice to have an alternative. Pros The ability to run multiple jobs separately from our application has been crucial to our business. Setting up new jobs to run is simple and we have experience very few issues with the service overall. Cons We really have no issues with Cron To Go other than being able to customize exactly who receives what alerts/notifications for specific jobs. It's so much simpler than maintaining your own cron schedule, and for the price it really is a no-brainer. Pros The UI is extremely intuitive. I love the guidance you get when generating the schedule using the cron syntax. Cons We wanted our cron job definitions to live in our code repository, so we had the same history and review process as the rest of our code. We had to use the Cron To Go API to achieve this. Setting the tasks up is really easy and you can be very specific thanks to the usage of Cron syntax. There is a preview for your syntax setup so you know exactly what the schedule will be.Loads of QOL features like running your task immediately, when it will next run, when it last run, pause your task and resume a task - all the essential stuff clearly visible and easily accessible. The most significant feature for us is the ability to run short but demanding jobs on more expensive Heroku dynos. With Cron To Go, we only pay for as long as the jobs are running. Cons It was a bit difficult to configure the command to run a job in our Typescript project but we managed to figure it out by following the documentation. I like that I can run a job and look at the logs all in the UI. I like that the slack integration was very easy too. Cons I would like better tolerance for failures. Like we have some jobs that fail once or twice but they run every minute or so. I would like to be notified only if they fail 3 times in a row.
