July 9, 2025 5.0 I have rolled out plenty of new platforms and systems, by far Smart Barrels support surpasses all others I have worked with. Honestly, I feel very well trained and fully confident to take the training wheels off and fully transition to smart barrel. I’m extremely satisfied and would recommend this service to anyone looking for an all in one payroll software. Pros I like how many bulk actions there are. I have 362 people on payroll, so being able to approve time in like 10 min the following morning is great. My onboarding specialist \[sensitive content hidden\] and my account rep \[sensitive content hidden\] are seriously the best and have been so dedicated to supporting me through all my set up issues and concerns. Cons We struggled with getting the web app to work on kiosk mode with in the building, but the Smart Barrel Kiosks work great and haven’t had any issues since day 1. The software is ever evolving and its for the better. They are constantly adding new features which make sense and are well thought out. Their programmers/ QC seem competent and always fix challenges in a very acceptable amount of time. Pros The customer service is excellent. The team is friendly and helpful. I've met and spoken with several SmartBarrel employees and they have all been attentive and prompt. We have asked for a lot of changes and every single one of them has been met with enthusiasm for customizing the software to our needs. Cons V1 of SmartBarrel was quite slow. The team has provided top notch customer service! From the beginning there were great features that our team was looking for, geofencing, facial recognition and accurate time stamps. Since then they have added many more features and continue to add more. We have built a great relationship with the team and look forward to continuing with SmartBarrel. The support provided by the entire team, from senior management to tech support was second to none. Pros What I like the most about SmartBarrel is that it's truly a user friendly software. Enhanced by powerful tools that allows you to manage/view multiple projects at a high level. Cons There's really nothing I didn't like, it's more of an enhancement that will allow access to end-user when having to add a third party subcontractor to an existing project. Anytime we run into issues, I am able to contact the team and get answers/solutions fairly fast. Pros I love how easy it has made things on our payroll team as well as our supervisors. Has streamlined multiple positions. Cons I would say my least favorite thing is how new it is, although this comes with benefits as well. I just think it is lacking in some basic interface areas. The daily availability of information helps us react quicker when we are at risk of overrunning costs. This can be done in when the work is happening rather than relying on invoices for work that has happened weeks ago. Pros The staff has been extremely patient with our company through this implementation. Allowing a long trial period to show proof of concept, then working hand in hand to customize to our needs. Through that process, we've been able to successfully implement per diem and safety self-checks. Cons We haven't run into any Cons yet, anything that has popped up the staff has been willing to adjust to fit our needs. Pros Smartbarrel time keeping holds all employees accountable as a whole! Tardiness, absenteeism is traceable with one device and being able to track on a dashboard are great features!
