Pros

I always thought Discord was only for gaming, but I use it to communicate with my 80+ clients effectively. I love that you can create "servers" with public & private channels where you can communicate as a community and on a more personal level.

Cons

Maybe the learning curve of setting it up but it's 100% worth it.

Pros

The ability to communicate with a street team or colleagues is top notch. Being able to keep certain conversations separate from the business is also a smart feature.

Cons

Took me some time to figure out how to move between conversations, but I figured it out eventually.

Great server customization, loads of features, and many many gaming communities.

Pros

Nothing can replace good old Discord when it comes to gaming communities. I've been using Discord to communicate with gaming friends for years. Both chat and voice communication work flawlessly.

Cons

The connection might appear slow sometimes when the servers are loaded.

I really love this platform. It was utilized for game nights at my hall of residence during the peak period of the pandemic. The chat rooms allow for live communication while playing the games using other apps. I really enjoyed using this app and it brought together a large group of people without compromising social distancing. It was an introduction to a new way of communication and facilitated lots of fun for my group. I would strongly recommend this platform as it is useful for many different settings

Pros

I'm one of the many thousands of people who had been using Discord for gaming/hanging out with friends when the pandemic hit and it became THE communication tool for family, work, friends, everything! I love having separate channels for all our chats and being able to use it on computers, phones, anything. It's like Slack for my entire life.

Cons

I can't think of a single thing I dislike about this software -- maybe just the fact that not everybody in my life is on it, because it makes my life so much easier!

Discord has been a great, powerful, and flexible communication platform which has helped me in community management and communication. Even with its challenges, it's still an indispensable tool for me with respect to community communication and management.

Pros

It has an intuitive and user-friendly interface which makes navigation easily accessible and features like two-factor authentication for security.It also has a good mobile user interface design which makes it more accessible for users.

Cons

With its video chat feature, it lacks other features such as breakout rooms or webinar capabilities which should be included in the feature.

Pros

What I like the most is users being able to have specific tags (e.g. officers in a campus club) and separate, private channels. @ mentions are extremely useful, entire list of users pops up when you type the @ symbol, making it very simple to quickly and easily mention someone. Notifications are perfect.

Cons

File size upload limit is a bit low and it is a bit confusing finding how to edit your profile.

Pros

It's easy to find Discord groups for topics you're interested in. The layout is great and it has all the chat features you need.

Cons

Sometimes setting up notifications can get a bit complex if you have lots of groups, but in general it's easy to use.
