You're capable of building in Discord a complex server just as you need it to be and it will always work, you just have to be careful with permission management! Pros How customizable servers can be and that it can easily be used in a computer or in a phone at any time and anywhere. Servers are basically a solution for really complicated and structured organisms such as a Law Firm. We deal with different areas, lots of people, different services. Before using discord it was an actual nightmare having to create groups for something different while on discord everything is not only at a single place but is well organized and structured. Regarding connection we have noticed that calls or screen sharing needs a strong internet connection. On the office that's not much of an issue but in a fast environment and when calls have been the most urgent with people at the middle of the street, it hasn't been reliable. Pros You can pick a username, you don't have to input your real name, there are millions of users, you can have your work groups there, friends, threads for any subject, there are lots of communities on it, from gaming to advertising to even brokers, MidJourney is on there as well, you can join voice channels, there are bots to do whatever you want on there, simply one of the best. Cons There is nothing to dislike about it, but sometimes voice channels get stuck, you're in the voice channels but people on there can't hear you, and the other way around, you have to quit the app and get back in , in order to fix this issue. Pros Discord is mostly free, the main features are always unlocked and only upgrades to those features/gimmicks are sold with the Discord Nitro. It is really quick and loads relatively fast even on slower internet connections. I love the way servers can be organised and how they look overall, instead of them just being a group chat, they have a lot of voice and normal channels and can categorize them with ease.The biggest difference between the competitors is the fact you can have bots in your servers. They can range from security to party games. They are a great addition for every server and EVERYONE can make one! You just need to know how to code, no special verification or fees required. Cons A lot of the newest features are locked behind Nitro. For example, themes. Before the update the only way to customize your app was to use betterdiscord or similar, which was prohibited by the ToS. Now, they have added this feature but it's only available to Discord Nitro users. They have 2 tiers of Discord Nitro. One has a lot less features but also costs less and the normal Nitro has all of the features but also costs more. With the themes you will need to buy the more expensive one.
