There's the technology side and then the business management side and there's been challenges on both fronts, especially with my company. Pricing for the software has always been difficult to nail down. Beside the total dollar amount, it's always been a bit convoluted as to how you get to the final price. I say run that proposal/invoice through your Marketing Department to see what they think about it!

Pros

Am I commenting on the company or a specific piece of software? Maybe I'll touch on both. I'm a fan of the software they make! I can tell that new ownership and leadership is thinking more strategically and long term. Some recent changes have been challenging; however, I like the direction they're going and it's obvious you're investing in the future. I like how customizable Momentus Enterprise is. We've taken advantage of that more than most venues I think. We worked hard to push all financial information though the system which helps us from an event management and event analysis side of things. I the ESC product a lot. Such a big improvement over the old SOP. Lastly, I really like my customer support rep! She helps us a lot and she's always very responsive.

Cons

Formal tech support through the Support Center is hit or miss. Sometimes it's a homerun and very helpful; however, it appears the support team is overwhelmed based on their response time. I've heard this is not the case for the Momentus Elite platform. Equal to or greater than support is the installation and onboarding of new modules and/or updates to the software. We do not look forward to the four incremental upgrades each year like we used to. It seems there's always an issue that creates problems for the end users & local admins. We've been uniquely challenged with the upgrade to Momentus Pay 2. We are now measuring the repair time on that module in "months". My sense is you've got good people working on it but the technology is so complex and integrated with outside companies that getting to final solutions has been an issue. Onboarding new clients to Momentus is a giant challenge and I advise my counterparts to be cautious because I do think it's one of your weak spots. The learning curve with Momentus Enterprise is very long. Much long than your longest onboarding schedule. Onboarding a new client to Enterprise should be thought of in years because that's how long it takes to really get there. I wish things like Crystal Reports and high level Word Merge Documents could a simplified to a point where local admins could figure that out on their own without the need for special training. Getting Momentus to spit out a great looking client facing document has always been a week spot that requires significant time and funds to commission a "Custom Report". In general, today's technology has put massive capabilities into the hands of the average user and Momentus has certainly achieved that with Views & custom fields but we're not there yet with client facing reports (created by the end user).

### "Great Product, Not a fan of UI changes"

Overall I think Momentus provides a great product that helps Event management run efficiently between departments.

Pros

Clean, sleek look, and easy to maneuver format. Customer Support is quick to resolve issues. I think it's a great tool for what it does.

Cons

I really do not enjoy the most recent UI changes. It has expanded most of the features I use making them multiple pages (I.e. activities) or putting it in a place that is more hidden when before it was in your face. I find it less user friendly. Honestly although the new UI is aesthetically pleasing, it really didn't improve anything.

Overall, Momentus has become an essential part of our operations. It’s our primary software for event and venue management—a true one-stop shop that brings everything together in a single platform. For us, it’s more than just software—it’s our single source of truth. The customer support has been excellent. We have regular catch-ups with our Customer Success Manager, our Account Manager is always available when needed, and leaders from the executive team are genuinely open to hearing directly from their customers.

### "So much to learn!"

Have been using it for 10+ years and 20+ by the unit. There is so much more the system could do, that we don't even access.

Pros

Event Management - use of Activities as an internal communication tool. Ability to track and detail and actions.

Cons

Did not like the upgrade and timing. Noting over time have gotten used to the changes. Still would prefer some changes be made (option to have scripting show below vs. to the side) We don't care for the email function, so still do double entry.

Good program to work with, easy to understand and use. Has space for all we need to have to put our shows together

Pros

For me, I just look up the shows we have to find out the information we need to know for ticket sales. I find the program easy to work with. I love the availability of the calendar and then how we can write in all the info we need for the show and follow up afterwards.

Cons

Really do not have any issues. I personally would change some of the info to the order in which I use it instead of so many tabs, but its easy.

Overall my experience with Momentus was average. The platform provides good generic event management needs, but the navigation is a bit tricky. The system feels outdated and could use a huge "face-lift".

Pros

I like that Momentus allows the option to upload documents, archiving any important information needed to be seen across teams. It was a great tool for successful event management.

Cons

Momentus user interface is a bit weak. It often posed confusing user needs and was overly complicated in areas.

I believe it is a great value for what it is worth. Especially when it comes to booking questions and customer support, Momentus is the go to.

Pros

I like how useful it is. It provides a lot of information for future and current events when customer’s call with inquiries.

Cons

How you have to scroll down to the page in order to get to the day of the month. If only there was a function that you can toggle on and off that when toggled on the website scrolls automatically to the “day” of the month. For instance, if today is the 16th the website would scroll down to the 16th day of the month after logging in.

’s much more user-friendly than our previous software, making daily tasks easier to manage. I especially appreciate the inclusion of Jewish holidays in the pre-loaded calendar — a thoughtful and helpful touch. Overall, it’s made our operations smoother and more inclusive.

Pros

Switching to Momentus Technologies has been a fantastic upgrade for our theatre operations. Compared to the software we previously used, Momentus is significantly more user-friendly. The interface is intuitive, making it easy to navigate and train new staff quickly. Tasks that used to feel cumbersome are now streamlined and efficient. One feature I especially appreciate is the inclusion of pre-loaded holidays — and even more so, the fact that Jewish holidays are thoughtfully included. As mentioned before, we have been with this company, since it was "eventBookings, then Ungerboeck and now momentus. What has been consistent, has been there overall response time and patience for ensuring a positive experience with the software

Pros

Though we have been long time clients of Ungerboeck, then to Momentus, I have appreciated the support we have received this far getting accustomed to the new system.

Cons

The product is still in it's infancy, so looking forward for Momentus to be able to adapt to each client's needs, they are still working out some kinks in order to be able to accomplish that. e.g there are steps that are created for for larger clients, that are embedded into the smaller client's platform, that can't be used, but you still must fill in the box.

Momentus is nice to see all of our events in one place, I can look at the calendar and view all of our upcoming performances, as well as pull up a select account to view contract information, which helps me to complete my job tasks.

Cons

I don't love the home scree interface. Especially since the update. It is too cluttered.

Overall the software is GREAT. It can do so much and its user friendly! Our events team uses this for our 800+ events a year that we book/manage.

Pros

I really like the customer service we receive with Momentus. Its also really easy for me to use and build our menus/rooms/etc. Along with quick reference to reports on our Dashboards that can be very customized. With my knowledge we can use the software the best we can and not have to reach out and have Momentus do all the little updates to menu items, etc.

Cons

The overall annual cost is our highest budget item for our department.

### "My excitement for Momentus (formerly Ungerboeck) 101"

My overall experience is two-fold. I was a user of the software for many years starting back in 2010 at another convention center. Once I arrived in DC, I was an advocate for this system. Once we got the system, serving on the team to implement it, was very rewarding. Currently, as the Systems Analyst in our Technology Department, I work with a wonderful team of staff at Momentus Technologies to continue pushing the system forward to maximizing our efforts to create the best user experience for our organization.

Pros

What I like most about Momentus Technologies is its flexibility. I think the system offers users the ability to create customizable fields and views to provide a good user experience. Momentus Technologies is a robust system, so having the ability to break the system down into sizable and usable chunks is an excellent way for individuals to learn the system quickly.

Cons

I believe the greatest asset to Momentus Technologies (formerly Ungerboeck) is also one of its greatest weaknesses. This is what I like least about the system. As a former user, now the Systems Analyst, it is very difficult to explain why some parts of the system is not customizable when it makes sense that these areas should connect. Maximizing the user experience sometimes becomes difficult because of those limitations.

### "VenueOps is the best!"

VenueOps has changed the way we communicate in our organization. Everything can be entered in the event so everyone can stay up to date with the details. We rely on it heavily for our calendars too. People no longer have the excuse that they didn't know what was going on with an event.

Pros

This software is extremely easy to use. The implementation was very quick and it was easy to train our staff and get them on board. We use it for everything - scheduling, quotes, invoices, event detailing, event orders and final settlements. I couldn't be happier with our choice.

Cons

I wish that we had the capability to create our own reports instead of asking their team to configure the different things that we need. I would like to customize my reports by selecting different options (room usage, days of week, inventory usage, etc.)

Ease of use, customer service, unlimited licenses and overall ability to use it for so many different functions.

It was a game-changer for us. Put all our service departments into one resource accessible to all at any time. After having the software for five years, we purchased the advance care plan. This gives us a designated customer service member that has helped us make the most out of the software as we are self-supported and do not rely on additional resources from IT. And we can still make it work! As we change, the software changes with us.

Pros

This software is totally customizable. It doesn't matter how small or large your business, there's a way to adapt it to exactly what you need. Plenty of reporting options are built into the software that adapts to give the supporting departments what they need with no additional or different input from the event planners. We are a company with a business center that is used for internal and community events. We have used the software for as little as 2 person meetings to events with well over 1000 people using the same process flow. They also have a great support website with a knowledge center and community based help center. Makes it easy to access information on tips, tricks and best practices at any time. Software updates have been easy to deploy and mostly seamless.

Cons

It did take some time and additional resources to implement but that was due to the complexity and building it to our needs. It is not an "out of the box" product - also the beauty of it! Also the individuals users need to change their passwords often (about every 90 days). That seems to be excessive and when running 2 or 3 shifts the timing to get a reset link may not be ideal.
