The calendar features are simple, but also very flexible and we've been able to create a great interface for our specific purposes. Plus the tech support has been super helpful and responsive. Pros My favorite things about Display.Church are: It's incredibly easy to update: our system is connected to Google Calendar which makes updating information and images super easy. This is truly a gift because so much of my job involves going back and forth with members and volunteers about event details. It looks good while also getting a lot of information on our site: We have the 'Featured Events' at the top of our page with images for each event that make it look good, and then the weekly calendar and monthly calendar below that with all of our events and regular services listed out. The MailChimp integration makes our weekly newsletter super easy to put together. Overall my day to day is exponentially smoother since we started using Display.Church and I get great feedback from members. Cons There were a few aspects of the learning curve that took a bit of time like integrating the code into MailChimp and setting up the calendars correctly and with all the right specifications. But we asked questions and got helpful answers. January 18, 2022 4.0 I'm really happy with the level of customer service they provide throughout my time as a customer. If I run into an issue, which doesn't happen too often, I get quick responses and a lot of times any suggestions I've made are already in the works and that new feature is implemented within that month! This company is doing a lot of things right, and I'm grateful to be a customer along for the ride! Pros The main feature I needed when looking for a calendar software was that it would integrate with our CMS (Church Community Builder). Once I confirmed that, I was so pleased by the customizability of this software. Colors, fonts, filters, etc. are all customizable. You can even customize the radius of rounded corners on the event cards! All of this I was not expecting when I initially landed on DCE website. I have found a system that works for us. A few things that I wished it had, I have been able to create workarounds to fit specific needs. Since using this software, the best part (other than a beautiful customized calendar) is the responsiveness of their support team! If I have a problem here or there, or if I am trying to do something that does not exist yet in the software, \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] is quick to respond, makes sure he understands the problem, and gives me updates on the progress or gives me options for fixing the issue. I have felt seen by their team and I really love their product! Cons Initially, there was a learning curve to figure out how to use the product most efficiently. Could be helpful to have screen capture videos outlining each type of calendar view. The functionality as an embed does work, but I do hope someday it could be an actual widget for my wordpress site. The feeling of greediness with the branding would make me think twice before recommending it. :/ Pros \-We use Planning Center at our church, and it's lack of integration with WordPress has been a pain in my side. DisplayChurch.Events has been exactly what we've been looking for to bridge the data gap between our site and PCO. It's very easy to use and change colors, fonts, etc... It's a simple software that fills a very specific need. -I've also been impressed with the updates I've seen in the short time I've been using it. All over very thankful for this product. Cons \- The fact that I have to pay an extra $5 a month to remove DCE's branding and logo from the product. It feels greedy. I'm already paying a decent monthly subscription for this software that does one thing. Do better at marketing... this has the opposite effect of what they're trying to do. To add insult to injury, they've put their branding at the top of every calendar (unlike most companies that will put their logo at the bottom). Visually it's cluttered and looks tacky. This alone would make me leave the product if there were any other options. I feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place and it taints my love for the software. - The price. This is a niche product without a lot of users and the price reflects that. Knowing that still doesn't make the price any easier to see for such a simple product, haha. Most of our views do display it below but if you are using infinite scrolling, it's displayed at the top. We actually lowered our prices and you would have had an option to pick before signing up. It's $5 cheaper per month though the costs of the software are $$$ more to maintain given what we offer as you indicated. " January 18, 2022 5.0 It's been above and beyond. We've never regretted using DCE! Pros It's for the average user. I do not know much about coding or software development, so finding a solution that worked without hiring a software developer was a win! Cons We use the software exclusively for Church Community Builder events. We would like to see this same idea adapted for Groups within CCB. A Feature Event tool would be excellent as well! I think it's important to note that the Planning Center integration is still in beta, so I am sure functionality will increase as more time passes. Pros I like how it works with Planning Center to pull event calendar information and displaying it in an aesthetically-pleasing and easy-to-understand way, and how it works with various different calendar platforms (Breeze, CCB, Google Calendar, etc.) The functionality is that you can highlight certain events created in planning center on your website without being taken to a separate Church Center page, which has an overwhelming amount of information, and is not very aesthetically pleasing. Cons There were a few things that made us second-guess moving forward with our subscription (slow loading speeds, overwhelming amount of options, etc.), but these issues were solved by contacting support, who was really prompt with their responses, and incredibly helpful. Pros After discovering that Church Community Builder (CCB) software lacked a responsive calendar and because our web management didn't have CCB integration, we needed something that was fast to implement on our website that allowed users to view calendar events on either a desktop or mobile phone easily. This was the best solution we found. Cons Anything that I don't like generally falls on the CCB side and so far, DisplayChurch.Events fits everything we need. I haven't found anything I didn't like. The price is a little high, but when you are just about the only option, it still is much less expensive than a custom one-off developer. Reason for choosing Display.Church They were about the only stand-alone product on the market unless we wanted to switch web management, and that wasn't going to happen. Review Source CF Cecillia F. Pros I love that our website is always up to date and we don't need to worry about obsolete events showing on the website. There are also many customizable options to select from for how the events are displayed. Cons The number of options can be overwhelming, but once you get something you like, you can clone those settings to other calendars -thus saving you time. The product itself is great and the support is even better. I noticed a slight issue early on with changes being saved and they both responded and fixed the issue super fast. Great communication and resolution. Pros Every CCB customer should use DisplayChurch.Events. The embed that you get from CCB is functional, but the design is way outdated and looks terrible. DisplayChurch.Events takes the event data from CCB and displays it beautifully on the website. It truly is a must-have. Cons Have not really found any yet. January 18, 2022 4.0 It has been great so far. We love how it looks and works on our website! There have been a few bugs and commments of improvement that we have taken to the support team and I am very surprised at how quickly and in touch they are to make those suggestions and improvements happen. One of the best support teams I have worked with for a software! Pros How easy it is sync with our database - Church Community Builder. I love how it looks as well on our website. Very clean, clear, & easy to use. Cons Once I created the calendar it was really difficult for me to understand how to implement it the embbed codes into our website. I know a little bit, but I did have to ask another website builder how to implement it for me. We are using Divi creator for our website builder, fyi. I have shared it with multiple other churches because it's simplified our processes so much and you can't beat the cost! Pros I love thay Planning Center has become our single source of truth for events. This has also allowed other ministries to add events to the website to be promoted months out vs havong to wait for every detail to be finalized before starting the promotion. Cons The 16x9 isn't a true 16x9, our graphics are still cut off on the left and right sides. Getting this fix will ensure the full graphic is seen before clicking into it. Pros I love that DisplayChurch.Events requires nothing from me once it's set up! It does a great job of offering different types of calendar options that function in exactly the ways we were hoping for! Cons We had some trouble getting one calendar to work initially. March 10, 2022 5.0 Pros What we like most about this software is that it is easy to use and the user interface is awesome. We love the clean calendar design that displays on our church website. Cons The only con that we will have about this software is that there is a premium fee to initially get started that we were not anticipating. There is a saying that you get what you pay for. When we had an issue with embedding the calendar on our website due to the website builder we use, they were quick to create a workaround for us that worked well and allowed us to use all features of the product. Pros We love the ability to customize the appearance of our calendar(s) to use on our website and in our mobile app. We have been able to connect multiple group calendars from CCB to our website and app so that we only have to update events in one place (CCB) to keep everything in sync. Cons Setup was a bit overwhelming to start because of the mass amount of customizable options. In the end, we really appreciated the options, but it took some time to get everything setup correctly.
