Everything was seamless between entry, bidding, and getting our cut. Cons I don't recall any features or functionality I didn't like. As a non-profit, lower costs would always be nice. Payment processing is a bit slow, but I'd rate it 7/10 based on the return on investment and site management. Pros I love the many options for travel experiences and gaining a percentage of prizes listed. Also, it offered more than travel, but artwork and miscellaneous as well. I also liked how you can add a logo for those who sponsored the added item. Cons What I really disliked was that you couldn't add multiple trips of the same experience. People had to bid against themselves in order to win multiple trips. meaning they would have to bid higher just to win multiple instead of the option to list it multiple times. I also didn't like if we wanted to close out and then open back up for the things that didn't sell, we would have to start a brand new auction versus opening it back up. It made entering and organizing items simple and provided helpful features like flyers and fundraising totals. I think it would be even better with more customization options and tutorial videos to help new users get started. Pros The item entry process was simple, and the platform was free to use. I also liked the printable flyers, clear fee breakdowns, total raised, and variety of travel packages. It was a nice clean way to keep all the items donated organized, with FMV and who donated it. Cons There were no tutorial videos to help with learning the platform. I also could not enter credit cards for people, and the flyers were not customizable for different sizes or adding FMV. When I edited the item numbers, the remaining numbers did not automatically update. The picture frame size was also awkward at 16:8. Pros Easy access to help via website resources as well as live agent help. Very easy onboarding and set-up and great choices of trips, experiences and collectible items. Cons None. I really do not have a bad thing to report. So happy that there is such a platform available for nonprofits. I never knew there was such a thing. Pros It was such an easy program to use. It was wonderful for fundraising and generating revenue for our nonprofit. Cons Wish there were more lower cost trips and experiences available. The time and energy saved justified the cost of the service. Pros Ease of set-up for uploading items and organization for the silent auction. User registration was also very smooth; we did not receive any complaints or have issues with attendees signing up and making bids. It handled the volume of bids throughout the night without any glitches or set-backs. Cons The fees associated with the service but we understand this is industry-standard. Just something to consider for smaller non-profits but we appreciated the stress WinningBidder took away in terms of the technical side of the auction; it allowed us to focus more on the event and guests. " September 12, 2024 5.0 We tried out and tested two different sites after completing a paper auction at our event last year. We decided on winning bidder and it did not disappoint! What drew us to winning bidder is of course that there were no platform fees, but also that it had many features other free products did not. We loved that people could enter an automatic max bid, that we could have categories, and acknowledge sponsors. We also love that bidders were sent text updates. The closing process was smooth, and reporting was quick and easy to pull. We wish it would have had a “sign out” or “pickup” reporting option, but searching the list and handing them out was easy enough! Pros It was simple, but had so many features like allowing the user to max bid and text updates. Cons People assumed that since they entered their card at the beginning, they would be automatically charged. First, this product being free for Non-Profits was huge, I was trying to raise money to send coaches and athletes to camp and this product made that possible. The software was so easy to use and had so many aids to help. They partner with some pretty impressive companies that donate for auctions so that you can use them as you try to raise money. Most of these I would have had no chance at procuring but TravelPledge made it easy to use these and helped in reaching my goals. Also there were some questions I had and their team answered so quickly and helped me make sure the experience was awesome. Cons I wish there was a way to customize it a little more, maybe just change the background color and make it more appealing visually. Learning the backend was fairly easy; there are a few things I would change, but overall, I'd rate my experience with TravelPledge a solid 9/10. Pros For taking the silent auction online for the first time, this software was great for the basics. It was easy to understand and learn the backend. For being a free option, I felt like it hit all the marks. Cons The text/notification features would like more flexibility/ownership there as the admin. Wish we could receive an email notification each time a payment was made. It would allow TravelPledge customers to search for all items within the category regardless of who's auction they're in (e.g. live events, sporting events, hotels, etc.). The last 1/2 hour the bidding was very active. In the past, we used sign up sheets. Having bidders notified that they were outbid really kept things going higher. Pros This was our first time using this software. It increased our participation in our auction by 500% and increased our money received by 400%. Cons Some of the tools are hard to find.
