These guys are just geniuses in how they have managed to make my SCCM and Intune life so much easier. Pros How easily does it integrate with SCCM and Intune? You can deploy an app with ease. Very simple when you get the hang of it. The integration with Intune is even greater. The ability to import custom apps with just a few clicks. From day one I have just loved how Patch My PC has made our lives so much easier and that you can rely on it 100%. Absolutely love this product. If you're seeking the services that Patch My PC offers, they're dollar for dollar the most practical investment a company could make. Everything else the provide is just icing on the cake. Pros Patch My PC is excellent at doing what it's advertised to do - Patching your pc. It offers a fairly robust catalogue of applications, the team is very responsive and knowledgeable, and the customer service is absolutely second to none. Their documentation is top-tier, and the effort they put into their product stands out above other vendors. Cons Extended features of secondary products, while perfectly functional in most features, in a sense leave some things to be desired and lack depth in customization that a majority of users won't even know they're missing. Any issue I have with PMPC isn't about what they're already doing - it's about what they could do in addition to the excellent services they already provide, and I feel that is a great problem for PMPC to have. From the sales team being generally helpful and wonderful to work with, to the implementation team that was available in case we needed any assistance. Pros How simple it is to get setup and going. We needed a quick solution using on premise infrastructure we already had. The integration with SCCM was beautiful and simple to setup. Allowing us to quickly deploy and maintain a simple, easy patching solution. Cons The reporting side of things requires an additional setup, and is not natively built into the install. Would like to see improvements their for on-premises patchmypc deployments, but this was a minor gripe on an overall great product. The functionality to add updates and quickly take all apps your deploy and cover them for rolling updates is great. Cons Some apps arent covered and are unable to be added due to odd rules like having more that 5 digits in parts of their version numbers. From the initial demo that we had, to the questions we've asked to the support everything has been perfect. Pros It makes application packaging that can be complicated really simple. We have had the tool for a couple of months and already its beginning to save to us time. Its really great knowing that applications are continually updated. From the initial demo to the support has been 1st class. Cons PMPC Cloud is lacking in features compared to the initial publisher. Some of the choices and explanation around update rings have been confusing. October 18, 2024 4.0 Easy to setup, easy to maintain, custom apps can be deployed to fit our needs and really making us as an IT Department more efficient. Pros It is very easy to make applications available through Intune/Company Portal and keep them up to date. The biggest benefit is that it costs us less time to manage. Besides, removing the "boring" work it also improved our application deployment. Cons The application will only push. So, whenever you change a setting or adjust the scope via the Patch My PC Publisher it will not update in Intune. These adjustments we have to do manually. They offer competitive pricing and will work with you to set it up if you need it! Pros I really love the dynamic rules for patching; if there is a zero-day patch, my rules to implement that patch are forceful, and Patch My PC pushes and enforces that patch immediately. If it is a smaller update, the rules will be less forceful. I never have to check that it does its job because I have seen it perform reliably every time! Pros I just like how quick packaging can be done compared to using a deployment tool and then uploading it to Intune. Very user friendly the Cloud and on-prem is great as well. I like the constant updating of the cloud version and applications. I like the ability to create custom apps as well. Also, technical support is very responsive and helpful! Cons Don't have many cons about the product other than not having Penndot applications. A way to clean up old packages that were created from PMPC after a new update was created. The Software is good to use and easy to understand. The time you win from using patchmypc is much more worth it than it cost. Overall its a really good software and I like to use it and dont want to miss it in my work enviroment. Pros The Software is easy to use and makes my life as a administrator much easier. It was fast installed and is easy to debugg if something is not working. Also if something goes wrong, the support is really good. Cons Some menus are hidden and not intuitve like the "overwrite dependencies on update" but i found it also after a time. I like that once set, it is just "working" and I don't have to constantly monitor the work/tasks/jobs. Cons IMHO: It would be better to have different ways to sort the software, for example, not by vendor but by software name. Pros Patch My PC replaced a complex, bore some and time consuming manual proces of updating installed third party software. And it expanded over coverage to also include a lot of software that we had not included in our manual effort! IT Technologist Computer Software Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "PMPC is the game changer for small business with no IT staff" March 14, 2024 5.0 I can't say enough good things about this product, despite the small number of limitations in the system. It's far more valuable than hindersome. Pros The automation of the system being able to scan systems for installed apps, and then auto download those updated versions and automatically upload to Intune, without a single need for human input, is a game changer for us. What would normally take an employee to be responsible for managing this process, PMPC is the AI that does it all. Cons I do wish the limitation of not being able to download ALL software vendors updates automatically weren't there. I understand why the limitation is there for some vendors, due to license agreements, but if there were someway to overcome this limitation, it would truely be a closed loop system without the need for any human interaction. No more time consuming custom packaging necessary. Pros Patch My PC makes it almost too easy to patch my 3rd party software. Onboard a customers tenant, scan for applications, select the applications and assign them. After that it's sitting back and watch Patch My PC do the rest. Cons Patch My PC runs on a dedicated Windows machine, it would be better if it becomes a full SAAS application. Pros 1) Zero-touch maintenance of application packaging, removing menial tasks from the Security team and removing time spent to comply with annual audits.2) Integration with Intune. 3) Reducing resource cost by automation Cons Patch My PC should use feedback and forum suggestions to package additional generally available software packages. There seems to be a long delay between an item being added to the ideas forum and any progress towards packaging. Reason for choosing Patch My PC Manage Engine provide several different stand-alone patch management solutions, however they were not integrated into Intune, and would require seperate management.Microsoft Autopatch is limited to Office365 applications and does not manage real-world third party software solutions such as Adobe Reader, Google Chrome, etc. Review Source Response from Patch My PC January 5, 2024 Thank you for the review, Peter! You can perform very granular customization of the apps and patches before they get published in Intune.3. The Publisher tech requirements are very mild, which means you can run it on pretty much any Windows 10/11 machine out there. Cons It's a bit hard to setup a patch testing environment in the same Publisher that is running your production configuration, but it's doable.
