I check on it every couple of months and make any changes i need to make. I do keep an eye on its patches - but overall its given me back a lot of time to do less robotic tasks. Pros High level of customization with simple integration into existing environment. The PMPC team is constantly adding apps and seems very responsive to requests on the customer support portal.It gives me back a lot of time i used to spend uploading new versions of apps. Of course my per device vulnerability rating has gone down in my EDR solution - so that makes management and security happy! Cons My only request would be the ability to add my own apps - Maybe it watches a folder for an application where it ingests the latest version and applies my deployment configuration. If PMPC did this it would be perfect. I'd be able to get all of my apps into one location, and even provide the ability to have in-house app developers the ability to keep their apps up to date across the org. We have more than a dozen in-house apps used by Customer service and support teams that i'd love to build into my patch management cycle. We didn't spend a lot of time himming and hawwing over this purchase. The price was good, reviews are good and our POC went very well. There seems to be a long delay between an item being added to the ideas forum and any progress towards packaging. We have saved so much manpower over that time with not having to package over a hundred different applications. With how much we save PatchMyPC is easily paid for every year. We can be certain that when a user goes to the portal to install an app they are always installing the most up to date version of the app. We've also begun using PatchMyPC to help us keep existing applications up to date on systems where they are deployed. These processes run extremely well and have reduced the amount of calls we get to the Help Desk asking for assistance with installing or updating software. Pros \-The PatchMyPC catalog is quite extensive, as of the writing of this review there are over 1300 applications available. -PatchMyPC integrates with both Intune & SCCM, making it easy to publish applications to either platform. -You can manage both initial install applications & update applications with PatchMyPC. \_PatchMyPC setup was easy with their support team guiding you through the process. They are very responsive when you have any issues or need to submit a ticket, which is rare but does happen. I do not believe we have ever waited more than a couple of hours for an initial reply to any issues we've seen. -PatchMyPC maintains a very active uservoice ideas board, where anyone can suggest product features or applications they would like to see added to the catalog. They are very good about providing feed back on the product roadmap and taking the suggestions in to consideration. -PatchMyPC regularly does product webinars to explain new features or go over how best to use current ones. The discussions are lively and you also get the viewpoints of other customers to see how they may be using the product. Any time we have had an issue, support has been very responsive. It makes this product a must have in my opinion. Pros It all comes down to time savings and ease of use. PMPC patches hundreds of products that are used throughout most companies and takes the burden of keeping them up to date away from us. The benefit of no longer having to worry about critical security updates for this many products on a monthly basis cannot be stated enough. Cons For our use case, there really has been no complaints. May 17, 2024 5.0 Our experience has been very smooth, no issues whatsoever and the team have been very helpful in assisting us and being able to provide support should we need it. This has really helped our patch management and made that area much easier now. Pros It's ease of us. Patch My PC was so easy to setup and integrate into Intune, it's automation help us keep on top of patches. We also love the notifications it provides - both via email and also it's Teams webhook - which is incredibly useful! This enables us to stay on top of updates and be notified of all the updates that have been deployed and what CVE's have been resolved. Cons Reporting, we would love to see reports from Patch My PC - for example, reports of how many machines have been patched and which are applicable etc. Will help in our monthly metrics that we have to provide. January 31, 2023 5.0 I've basically set it up and its just ran. When there is an issue it proactively notifies me so I don't actually have to manually watch it and check in on it. And most of the time it tells me what the issue is and the most common solutions on how to fix it. I've had a few consultation type calls just to get an opinions on how its running in my environment and adjusted it based on their recommendations. Overall the teams at Patch My PC really does have the customers best interest at heart and proves it everyday. Pros This product is one of the easiest to set up and implement. I did have a few issues because of a more complicated environment but their documentation is robust and their tech support team was able to assist very quickly and effectively to help me get it sorted out. Cons I wish I could have a remote console to control the software with. Currently I have to log onto my wsus server which isn't a deal breaker but not ideal. It also has links within the console for more information/documentation which then launches a web browser/web site... Also not idea when working on a server... If it has remote management I missed that feature... Reason for choosing Patch My PC I knew of a couple other competitor products but I was familiar with Patch My PC from user group meetings and also trialing their product. Because of how well it worked and its affordable price there wasn't very much pressure for me to have to prove out any others. My company was willing to pay out for a year and pivot if it didn't work out.... we've been a customer ever since with no plan on stopping... Pros PatchMyPC has been a game changer for us when it comes to two things, ensuring that our customer endpoints are getting the badly needed updates and seamless integration with our MECM environment with future support with Microsoft Intune. We spent two (1 hr) sessions with PMPC sales engineers and we were off and running. It was that easy. The resources available on the web and YouTube for customizing or tweaking aspects of PMPC or observing best practices are phenomenal. No other patching tool has been this comprehensive by order of magnitude. Cons Trying to stay modest here but I have yet to find anything within PMPC as a tool, service or the customer support that we "least" like. Support is very responsive, the \[sensitive content hidden\] cares very much about our customer experience, the product just works! With PMP automatic deployment rules we now never are late with security updates or new versions. So our devices are more secure! Pros It saved a lot of time regarding application patching an deployment, easy to setup with the help of patch my pc engineers. Not only for MEM but also for intune! Great fast response when submitting a question to the support of PMP. Cons I think it would be nice to be able to select a distribution group per application instead of all applications only. It sometimes takes a long time before you hear a status update of a suggested idea or application request. If you only use intune you still nee a server for the publisher application. Anything I was confused about during setup, there was already an easy to follow knowledge base article for it. Very large catalog of 3rd party products that it supports; and it's not just patches, they also auto package apps for deployments and task sequences (in ConfigMar) as well! It's a no brainer compared to other comparable tools. Cannot forget to mention how awesome the team behind PatchMyPC is. They are strong contributors to the Microsoft ConfigMgr (SCCM/MECM) community. They offer a large amount of free videos on how to be successful with your Windows management journey. Right from the beginning when we first engaged with PatchMyPC, you could tell they wanted to make the trial and transition as easy as possible. Oh, and they are constantly following up AND implementing user community improvement suggestions and feature requests. Pros I like everything about the product (large catalog, ease of use/setup, auto app packaging), but the PatchMyPC team is probably my favorite thing about the product. The support team is very responsive and their knowledge base more than often has the answer to any hiccups you might run into. The founder, is very involved in the ConfigMgr/Intune user community and provides webinars and how to/troubleshooting videos for much more than their own PatchMyPC product. You can tell they have an overall interest in having customer, or potential customers, succeed with their own ConfigMgr/Intune endeavors. Great company to work with! Cons There isn't anything specific I don't like about the software. An improvement request would be to add support for Mac's, specifically patch support via Jamf Pro. It has saved us many hours of setting up app updates manually and improved our security compliance as there are fewer apps that now need manual intervention to update. Pros Patch My PC provides a simple way to keep windows devices patched an up to date and continues to add more 3rd party applications to it's extensive library so they are fewer apps that now need manual patching.It's easy to set up and the process for keeping apps up-to-date once selected in the publisher is completely automated. Cons I would like to see the ability to add custom applications that are not part of the list of 3rd party apps that Patch My Pc does maintain - this might already be on the road map but would be a useful addition. Pros The level of customisation that can be achieved is the biggest Pro for PMPC but there are so many awesome things that it can do Cons Console can only be run from the Configuration Manager server. Patch My PC has solved both, and at a price that would almost be comical if it wasn't the tipping point in selling it to management Pros The automated aspect of how it creates both apps and updates in Intune, and the subtle scripting between the two able to be deployed in tandem, is downright miraculous. The ability to set up deployment assignments from the tool so that all new apps and updates go out to and are scheduled with a test-pilot-prod cycle results in a much high confidence level in our ability to keep our software updated within days of a new release Cons I'm not a fan of having to host a server for the publishing tool for something uploading to the cloud. Pros The product is easy to use and allows you to setup and walk away. Cons Reporting is not something the product has much of. If we could have a report of those devices that did not get patched so we could focus on those that would be great. Reason for choosing Patch My PC We choose Patch My PC because we used Microsoft Intune and not SCCM and this tool could do both independently.
