A lot of software companies disappear once the sale is done, but that hasn't been the case here at all. Even years into using the platform, their team still checks in regularly to see how things are going, ask if we need any training refreshers, and make sure we're getting the most out of the software as our business has grown and changed. That kind of ongoing relationship is rare, and it says a lot about how much they value their customers beyond the initial sale. It's reassuring to know that if we ever run into a question or want to explore a feature we haven't used before, someone is going to reach out — or be there when we reach out to them — rather than leaving us to figure it out alone. Combined with how reliable and well-built the software itself is, that continued support is a big part of why we have no plans to switch to anything else. SharpeSoft isn't just a vendor we bought a product from; it feels like a long-term partner in how we run our business. Pros SharpeSoft Estimator has completely transformed how we put together bids. What used to be a slow, spreadsheet-heavy process is now streamlined and far more accurate. The software's database of cost items, assemblies, and historical pricing makes building an estimate from scratch — or pulling from past jobs — quick and reliable, which has saved our estimators countless hours during bid season. The learning curve was reasonable, and once our team got comfortable with the workflow, it became clear how much more consistent and professional our bids look compared to before. Being able to track labor, material, and equipment costs in one place, and quickly adjust for different scenarios, has given us a lot more confidence in the numbers we're putting in front of clients. Overall, SharpeSoft has become an essential part of our estimating process, and it's hard to imagine going back to how we used to do things. Cons Honestly, there's nothing about SharpeSoft that we'd change. From the day-to-day estimating workflow to the reliability of the software itself, it's met every need we've had without any real downsides. Once they use Sharpesoft, they are amazed with how easy it is to use and how powerful the software is. We have acquired over $500 Million dollars worth of work using Sharpesoft Estimator. Pros The ease of use was critical to us making this purchase. Sharpe Software provides services to import your data into the software of use the software with some sample data already loaded. We chose using the sample data. It allowed us to see where things were pulling from and which fields were being used for what purpose. That was very helpful. Cons We purchased this software over 20 years ago and we still use it today. Back then, the tax structure in our State was different than the tax structure in California which Sharpe used as their tax model. Sharpe wrote an update to our program to address that issue for us and it really makes applying the appropriate taxes quick and easy. As a vendor they are always available when technical assistance is needed and they have a quick turnaround for repairs. Cons I wish the product would breakdown man hours more effectively and give you more options when exporting data. Another issue I have ran into is when I copy a job all of the data that I have changed within a bid item detail reverts to its default price. No complaints with vendor. Pros I use Sharpsoft after the estimators have set up the job and prepare the bid to be sent off. I mostly use this for tracking the cost of the job and mark up percentages as well.
