"Sherpa Altitude IG optimizes modern information governance!"

Overall: We were generally satisfied with product performance. It helped our team to configure internal data in a more structured way.

Pros: Sherpa provides a pattern search facility to investigate emails and other data documents based on enterprise requests. I mostly enjoyed the automation of data classification which boost our corporate teams' productivity as well as simplified to follow retention policies. Also, the software provides detailed data reports and visualization tools that worthy to utilize.

Cons: I would say the software is more built for advanced users and as a fact requires efforts from newbies based on my experience. Moreover, I would love to see external service from the application support in future releases, besides the user documentation provided.

"Searching emails at rest"

Overall: Our experience was very positive. We were glad to have come across their solution, as it suited our need at the time and has continued to serve us well.

Pros: Altitude IG was one of the only products we could find that was able to do content scanning on existing emails stored in Exchange Online. It was cost effective and relatively easy to set up. Sherpa was also very helpful throughout the install process, as well as during the ongoing scans and tuning of the software.

Cons: HIPAA rulesets are very basic and need tuning, but we were able to accomplish this with Sherpa support. The scans do take a long time, but that is typically due to Microsoft's throttling of Exchange throughput to 3rd parties.

Alternatives Considered: Netgovern eDiscovery
Reasons for Choosing Gimmal Discover: Altitude IG met exactly the functionality we needed.

"Good Info Gov functionality, but not out of the box"

Overall: Tool is providing what we expected; leadership team has been great - service-oriented, flexible, great to work with.

Pros: Flexibility of product and connectors to allow us to manage documents and email in place. Ability to work with legacy systems (files shares, SharePoint on-prem) as well as M365 suite.

Cons: Lack of a mid-level user support function. Product is more built for administrative users for running data analysis/reports and file audits. Have to work with them to create the capability to have an end-user approach to running various reports via menu-driven options.

Alternatives Considered: ZL Discovery Manager
Reasons for Choosing Gimmal Discover: Targeted application and existing customer base was already doing almost everything we were looking to do - and at a much lower cost of entry.

"Sherpa MailAttender to Altitude IG"

Overall: Extremely satisfied with the Customer support. They have worked with our times and even after discovering a bug within the system they are responsive with status updates.

Pros: Setting up the application the first time required help, however I was pretty happy that after that point we had a pretty good understanding of how it worked and what other options would be available for the next project. It was intuitive and seems pretty simple to configure.

Cons: If I had to pick something I did not like about the software is that it is more difficult to find the same options that MailAttender had all in one area. I feel like I am jumping around more to do the same things.

Reasons for Choosing Gimmal Discover: We needed a Exchange rules runner on steroids. They catered to our specific request and the product executes it properly without issues. We set it up and don't have to worry about it running correctly every time.

Reasons for Switching to Gimmal Discover: We needed the additional functionality of a system working with Exchange 2016.

"Great for Exchange Retention Policies"

Pros: The ability to have policies and workflows be scoped to either Active Directory groups or individual users makes this a huge plus. Once this is setup and working , there's little ongoing changes that need to occur unless you change groups or need to create new policies.

Cons: The admin console is a little confusing at first and the workflow builder takes some getting used to.

"Sherpa Altitude is very helpful in keeping our Exchange Mailbox Sizes Under Control"

Overall: It's been a positive experience over all.

Pros: It is easy to setup. Sherpa's Senior Solutions Architects assisted in setting it up for us and configuring the workflows. They also did an exceptional job of training us on the administrative tasks. They also check in to make sure our rules are operational and offer suggestions on how to optimize the performance of our rules.

Cons: Setting up the workflows can be a bit challenging at first, but Sherpa Support is always willing to assist us.

Reasons for Switching to Gimmal Discover: Sherpa Mail Attender got replaced by Altitude.

"Very ease in access"

Overall: As already said, it made our day very easy.

Pros: Earlier we used RSA and replaced with Sherpa. Post to that we are having tension free job.

Cons: User need not to be On-Prem. Very ease in access. Good saas application.

"Legal Discovery/Subject Access Requests - Very Easy to use/review/produce results"

Overall: Altitude has improved our ability to respond to regulatory requirements in various jurisdictions throughout the world.

Pros: Valuable and powerful tool to have on-hand. I'd recommend mostly, though, because of the premiere technical support, guidance and personal attention received. Easy setup and support - fantastic use of SaaS availability and power along with local installed agents and control of data. Mostly leveraging file systems searching to start, but results have been so positive we expect to add Exchange Online and other compliance/data governance and classification options.

Cons: The only thing holding me back at the moment is my own experience with the software. If i have a need then [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] (tech support) has always given me quick/responsive guidance to direct me on how to use the power of Altitude to more easily accomplish my goals.

"Altitude for email retention"

Pros: Altitude is great for setting rules on large numbers of mailboxes for retention polices.

Cons: Not really any cons. The customer support was fantastic on getting it set up and running.
