### "Program very easy to use at a very accessible price, I love it."

April 12, 2023

5.0

RingCentral has integrated numerous modes of communication into a single app, each of which may be seen individually or together on a dashboard. The dashboard, in general, has been of great use to us in the conduct of our day-to-day business. Because of this added bonus, we have been able to get rid of all of our desk phones, which has freed up additional space on our workstations.

Pros

RingCentral MVP combines all of the fundamental requirements for effective communication into a single program that runs on your own computer. Within a single interface, I am able to monitor and respond to incoming phone calls, text messages, faxes, and instantaneous messages from other users.

Cons

The first transition from using a traditional desk phone to a desktop app is one of the drawbacks of RingCentral MVP. No matter where you take your laptop, you can now take your calls with you. Although getting acclimated to it takes a little bit of time, the experience has been positive in general.

### "A pretty good office phone system not cost effective at all!"

December 5, 2022

4.0

See above. The only problem is cost and customer service.

Pros

The main things this system does well; call routing, mobile access, voicemail, call transfers.

Cons

This software takes a very long time to set up and get rolled out to the team. This is not cheap and only gets more expensive over time. Their customer service is terrible. I have to search to find out anything on my own. I have tired to schedule numerous meetings with my account manager and usually don't get a reply. The last time we actually got one scheduled he flaked and never called into the meeting. I had my whole team there waiting.

The online portal is fantastic. It allows you to divert your calls very easily to a phone or even take them on your computer rather than your desk phone

### "RingCentral Great For Business"

November 15, 2022

5.0

RingCentral has been a great stride forward compared to our previous VoIP solution which was buggy and had issues. It's simple, easy to use and just works.

Pros

Having used a competitor software previously I find that using RingCentral is quick, easy and bug free. It's relatively simple to load on your PC or mobile and does the exact job it is designed to do well.

Cons

Contact management could be improved on RingCentral, but overall, there really isn't much to complain about.

### "Ring Central is a solid small business phone service "

May 9, 2023

5.0

Overall we really liked Ring Central. The only reason we switched away was because a friend started their own VOIP phone service and we got to support them and use it for cheap. I really like Ring Central and have recommended it to several friends over the years.

Pros

We used Ring Central for about a year and it was always pretty good. I really liked the mobile app because it allowed us to work remotely and not have to pay for phone service at our employees homes.

Cons

The phone service only ever had a problem when the internet went down on our office or in my neighborhood. Ring Central was great, the internet was not reliable enough.

### "Good from far, far from good."

October 5, 2022

3.0

Horrible experience. We stayed with them because we signed a contract without fully evaluating the platform. Tech support was pleasant, but insincere, and seemed more concerned with getting you off the line rather than the resolve the issue, and they used the expression 'system limitation' so much that I stopped calling. The icing on the cake was that after honouring the two-year contract with a platform that did not meet our needs and we were not using, the contract auto-renewed itself for another two years. 2 or three hours on the phone with various representatives later, they would not budge and would charge us a full cancellation fee. Sat part is that I will spend more in legal fees to get out of this mess, but I'll be damned if they will see another dime from us.

Pros

Initially, it looked good, and it had all the features we wanted. Signed up for it, and once we started doing testing we realized it was not a good fit for us.

Cons

Where do I start? First off, while this may affect Canadian users, whenever we received an incoming call, the CNAM lookup would only show the name of the city the call was originating from. Not the name or the number. After hours of talking to tech support, the only workaround was to turn the CNAM lookup off so we could at least see the number. Getting this half-fast workaround to work was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. Talking to people a world away and getting them to understand what the issue I was experiencing, including screenshots and videos, felt like talking to a wall. They could not understand why I had an issue with only seeing the name of the city on call display. The tech support kept referring to system limitations whenever they could not solve something. The salesperson has mislead us and told us we could manage multiple lines from one interface. That is not the case. You have to log into each line separately. As a small team, we wanted to have everyone have access to certain lines and be able to jump in on a conversation. That could not be accomplished. This platform was clearly not a good fit for us, but we signed a contract, and made the best of it.

### "Review of Ringcentral"

May 19, 2022

5.0

Ringcentral replaces our previous phone system in its entirety, allowing us to utilize soft phones and providing a means for video and text communications. Although we later transitioned to different services for chat and video, initially it was a welcome addition when we were just needing the phone/fax. Overall ring central is a high quality soft phone.

Pros

Ringcentral gave us a lot of options with a low barrier to entry. We came from an environment with no soft phone capability so the transition was very noticeable. The peer-to-peer communication and peer-to-client communication are both very simple and the call quality is always crystal clear.

Cons

The initial IVR setup for our company was a very drawn out process. We had to hire an external party to create our entire workflow since the built in functionality did not suit our needs. Additionally, we were in the market for a custom API hook that new calls would invoke and the process to get this built in took an extremely long time (6+ months) to add.

### "Very Cost Effecient Way to Provide Seamless Phone Service for Local and Remote Employees"

May 7, 2019

5.0

I have had a positive experience with RingCentral. We use it for all remote employees and our local conference rooms. Once the IT team had the process down for adding groups and numbers everything has run smoothly.

Pros

RingCentral was very easy to setup for our local office as well as remote employees. We mainly went with RingCentral for this functionality. I could order and ship a phone to a remote employee or set up a phone number for remote employee without them needing a phone and all they would have to do is plug in the phone or log in to RingCentral to get going. Call routing and everything else was seamless to the remote employees.

Cons

There is a bit of a learning curve in configuring the different groups. The customer success team is there to help you get started over the phone and generally available to help whenever needed. It was a bit of a pain to get started, but this was in 2015. It was quite a few emails back and forth with an account rep to get the right plan and block of numbers.

### "Overall I love this Software and Features"

March 5, 2025

5.0

Improving the call transcription process would significantly enhance our record-keeping and customer communication. Ideally, a more streamlined and automated transcription feature would minimize the current manual steps. This would allow us to easily reference customer agreements, particularly regarding costs, and prevent potential discrepancies or misunderstandings.

Pros

RingCentral's desktop notifications are a game-changer for our customer interactions. The instant caller ID pop-ups allow us to proactively answer calls, especially from those we've been trying to reach, dramatically reducing frustrating phone tag. Plus, the integrated texting feature streamlines communication, enabling seamless back-and-forth with our customers

Cons

I would like it to be a little easier to get it to transcribe the calls for future reference. Sometimes a customer will agree to have something done then claim we didn't let them know the cost. This could be a more automatic feature and less hoops to activate.

### "RingEX Review"

September 15, 2025

4.0

Overall my experience with RingEX was a little bit challenging at times, I ended up using Chase as my main platform, but I will still use RingEX as a secondary option.

Pros

One thing that stand out to me about using ringEX is the ability to see the number of calls made, also the ability to disposition each call, letting me know if I didn’t get ahold of the person.

Cons

My personal experience with RingEx on my work computer is that I noticed some Lag in my calls, that was a consistent issue with ringEX on my work Computer.

It's been great. We migrated over to Ring Central from Mitel and it's been worlds different. Definitely a better experience in EX!

Pros

### "Incredible Phone Management"

June 22, 2023

5.0

We have had an excellent experience using RingCentral MVP. It has been essential for our communication within our team and with our clients. I would recommend to any company looking to have great video and telephone communications.

Pros

We utilize the ability to manage all our users phones and licensing form the admin portal. Uses connections are very reliable and the VoIP options help us be more mobile. The administration is easy to learn and setup. Users are able to quickly pick up how to use phones.

Cons

If we had to pick a con for this it would be that it really makes you use their phones if you want a physical phone at desks. It would be nice to use other brands.

### "Convenient Calling Solution"

May 12, 2020

5.0

Overall, we choose to use RingCentral to making completing and receiving phones calls from external partners easier for our employees. It effectively did exactly what we hoped. Made life easier and solidified an appropriate work life balance. No longer did employees need to give out their personal mobile phone numbers but they were able to use their RingCentral line that went to the very same device. The RingCentral app integrated nicely onto iPhones and made the experience quite hassle free.

Pros

RingCentral has a handful of pros that make the software great and very ideal for doing business. To begin, RingCentral has a mobile phone app that can easily be downloaded on Apple or Android that completely integrates with the calling system on the device. The software gives you a completely new phone line that we used as work lines but the calls come right through on your existing device. As incoming calls come in, your phone indicates that its a call to the RingCentral line which made deciding when to accept a call very convenient. The software includes all the regular features of a phone, such as voicemail. When voicemail messages were left, I would also receive a notification email to my work email that had the audio message included and could listen right on the computer if I wanted to. Furthermore, the best pro I experienced with RingCentral was the ability to complete International calling and texting, both incoming and outgoing. This was the driving factor in me adopting the software and it worked perfectly. I was able to receive international calls without always needing to arrange a scheduled conference call. This made business very convenient. Discovering that I could text internationally through the RingCentral app was a great bonus!

Cons

What I've liked least about RingCentral are more so areas of improvement rather than full blown cons. Most notably, while the mobile app does integrate well and gets the job done, it can often times lag and be a bit clunky. Overall, the app lacks a sense of intuitiveness that proved challenging. Discovering and completing texting through the app, especially internationally, was very much not straightforward or easy to complete and required digging and research on my end. RingCentral even updated their app, creating a new one entirely, but the old app is also still active and both remain on my phone and it's unclear as to which should be used as it appears that both are fully functioning. Ultimately, I suppose the mobile app is the greatest con that RingCentral faces.

Switched from

[Google Meet](https://www.capterra.com/p/176572/Google-Hangouts/)

We replaced using Google Hangouts with RingCentral Voice calling and it was a successful solution. Our team members use our own personal cell phone devices to complete our work and connect with external partners. Those of us who use calling often were set up with a RingCentral line that allowed me to get calls directly to my phone using a different work line. It allowed me to manage the hours of when I accepted calls to keep an appropriate work balance. This also allowed for personal numbers to not need to be shared unless an individual wanted to.

### "They saved us from an ancient ShoreTel system, and helped us embrace remote work"

October 27, 2021

5.0

RingCentral has been in business voip for a long time now. They are huge, well defined, and are consistent across the entire experience of sales, design, implementation and training. When you onboard, you feel like you are gaining access to a huge resource that has been doing this long enough to have their game down. You pay more for that kind of experience, and it was worth it to us.

Pros

The platform feels modern and robust. I like that end users can install the client without us having to deploy msi's. The sound quality alone on calls was night in day from our onprem system with SIP trunks. We were worried about quality, but it's been a non issue. It's nice having a platform that is constantly improving over time, without us having to shell out more money to prod the vendor to offer more. If you have solid internet connections into your business, you'll be fine.

Cons

The offering was a little on the pricier side compared to competitors. Worth it in my opinion though.

Reason for choosing RingEX

Ring felt the most mature and well developed out of the other offerings. We were willing to pay more for a better overall product and support experience. The platform does feel like unified communication, and is flexible enough with API access that we'll be able to change how we use it over time. The other offerings often felt bolted together from acquisitions to get into the space. Ring felt a little more robust and fleshed out compared to the others.

### "Overall works really well but they WILL NOT STOP PESTERING for reviews/feedback"

May 25, 2023

3.0

Their platform is solid. The features are extensive. The call quality is good. The configuration backend is a bit wonky. They simply beg for feedback way way WAY too often. This has been going on for years. To everyone at RingCentral reading this. You DO NOT have consent to contact me or our company about this feedback. It's disgusting I now have to write this every time I leave feedback to not get a followup call.

Pros

Features and functionality is great. Very extensive and works reliably. Apps are available for desktop, mobile, and tablet that all work pretty well (once you get past the takeover-popups)

Cons

THEY. WILL. NOT. STOP. PESTERING. FOR. FEEDBACK. I cannot go 24 hours without a popup/takeover/email/phone call from RingCentral BEGGING me to tell them what I think of the software and to announce whatever new feature they released. Just this week, 3 different phone calls begging for feedback. This morning I get "Desktop app refresh" begging me to turn on the new interface which showed a dozen different "what this button does" "what that button does" popups. The tablet did the same thing yesterday and it took 5 minutes to get past all the "new feature" popups... every last one of them pointed to buttons and functions that have been there for years. The icing on the cake was a few months back I left them feedback about this very problem. I specifically selected that they MAY NOT contact me further about the issue. Not even an hour later they call me on the phone, interrupting me at work, to get more details... Had to block the number. A few days later they try calling my number 6 times in a row. When that didn't work they then called my boss to ask if he was the person to contact about the feedback. Meanwhile they emailed me about it twice with #NOCONSENT clearly written in the subject field. We use maybe a dozen different software packages/platforms for our business. RingCentral single handedly accounts for 80%+ of the "please leave feedback" and "check out this new feature" popups/emails.

### "Decent Centralized Communications Service"

January 13, 2023

4.0

It was alright. There were a few bugs with notifications not appearing across platform, but otherwise calls were clear and didn't drop.

Pros

Their customer service is alright, and they are versatile platform for calling services. Their calling features are alright, but they are on the pricy side compared to other services. You are able to take calls on both desktop and on a cell phone, so it mitigates the need for a business cell plan and transfers all call services online. Porting over customer contacts was pretty easy with the RingCentral customer representative.

Cons

As a company, we used RingCenteral for a year before switching to a new call service specifically because, while their phone services are pretty decent, their SMS features are subpar at best, and we wanted a more unified service with less cost.

### "MSP Use Case for RingCentral"

July 28, 2023

5.0

Overall, our experience both using and reselling RingCentral has been very positive. Our staff and clients use these products daily and while we do need to work through occasional issues, these are more often training based than product issue based.

Pros

We both use and resell RingCentral. Our self-use is for our IT Service Desk support number and this works wonderfully. It provides us the flexibility to be out in the field and still receive calls from our clients. The medical practices that we've migrated to a RingCentral phone solution find great value in the additional features beyond just a plain old desk phone. These include faxing, SMS messaging, video conferencing, call analytics, etc..

Cons

There are times where it can be difficult to work with the RingCentral sales team and support teams. That said, if you are patient and persistent with them you can almost always reach your end goal.

### "Decent Meeting Software with Phone System "

July 28, 2022

5.0

I so far have not had much issues with the software besides clients struggling to join screen share meetings for the first few times.

Pros

They always have some type of promotion going on where you can sign on with a discount. Software has been pretty ease to use and adjust settings.

Cons

I have had all clients struggle when signing on the first few times. This is because Ring Central prompts users to download the app to join the meeting. After waiting for a few seconds, only then it will give the option to join via web browser. Clients will often join the meeting late or not at all because of this, so I started including instructions on how to join through a browser or just use Microsoft Teams instead.

### "Robust platform, but expensive and extremely poor support"

March 7, 2023

4.0

Pros

Ringcentral has a ton of features, anything you could ask for in a small business voip system. It is very reliable, call quality is good, the mobile app is very stable and has tons of features. Also they support a lot of brands of IP phones if you are looking to use existing equipment and just change your provider.

Cons

It's one of the most expensive voip services on the market, per user cost. They also nickel and dime on certain features like caller ID name which other carriers include by default. They bill you for an extra user seat automatically if you forward calls to an external number, e.g. an answering service, more than 10 times in a month, which other carriers don't charge for. Finally, and perhaps worst part, their customer support is extremely terrible. If you ever have to call them, expect to spend 6-10 minutes navigating their very annoying phone tree/IVR before you get transferred. Then when someone finally gets on the line, they are outsourced and generally can't help with any technical issues. This means opening a case and waiting days or weeks for a "tier 2" agent to reply. Often cases go unanswered and you have to start the process over again. Without a doubt, RC support is the worst of any vendor our business works with.

### "I recommend ring central and have been using it for years!"

September 6, 2022

5.0

RingCentral has helped me not stay put in an office and answer phones. I can use this on the go and for a person with multiple businesses this is very useful and I highly recommend

Pros

I like that I can use this software on the go. I receive the voicemails to email that I miss. The calls come directly to my cellphone and I can choose to answer or not answering by continuing the call. So even if I don’t recognize the number, I get another chance to confirm the answer!

Cons

I haven’t come across any issues with this software. It’s been a pretty easy process for me and I appreciate that.

### "Is not seamless with my iphone mailbox"

November 21, 2023

4.0

Pros

I like how easily it integrates with my cellphone from a caller standpoint.

Cons

I struggle to listen to voicemails from my RC calls. I wish they would forward to my regular voicemail inbox on my phone so that I do not have to go to the app.

It has so much to offer, that we can't fully utilize the features.
