Pros
The experience has been outstanding. I will and have recommended Ascend to my friends and colleagues.
Sensitive content hidden] customer specialist assigned to me was amazing. Also, very informative and helped guide me through reports and other functions.
The cameras, GPS, and web system interface are as good or better than others that we looked at, and the price was competitive. Really great people too.
For the most part, it has been very easy to use. The customer support has been very helpful and is very responsive and willing to help improve the software.
Cons
Maintenance tracking should provide us better visibility and upkeep on our fleet. Drivers are aware of the units and this should limit the abuse on our fleet.
Figuring out the specifics of setting up alerts can be tricky, but once you figure it out and test it out on vehicles to understand how it works, it's relatively simple.
Ascend uses splitters so if we need to scan, nothing has to get unplugged and no one would even know there's a GPS in the trucks.
There has not been anything so far that I would say I dislike.

""Excellent service and quality""
Overall: My overall experience with ASCEND has been above expectations. I was worried about implementing the product and the ease of use but ASCEND has made this whole process pretty simple.
Pros: What I like most about ASCEND is the customer service. No matter the question they were most helpful and knowledgeable. They did not make me feel like I was bothering them or my questions or concerns were silly.
Cons: What I like least about ASCEND is that I cannot watch live the route of a vehicle or equipment.
"Tower MRL Review"
Pros: The friendliness of the Ascend team as they helped us set up our account. The whole team working with us was willing to help and problem solve with us.
Cons: Figuring out the specifics of setting up alerts can be tricky, but once you figure it out and test it out on vehicles to understand how it works, it's relatively simple.
"Ascend Review"
Overall: Dash cams should put us in a better position when an accident occurs. Maintenance tracking should provide us better visibility and upkeep on our fleet. Drivers are aware of the units and this should limit the abuse on our fleet. We have not seen great gains in any of these areas yet but are giving it more time before fully evaluating.
Pros: Real-time GPS tracking and the ability to track mileage and maintenance information.
Cons: Roll out was terrible. By the time we got a good customer service rep, we had already had too many issues. It got much better after that but we still had some install issues which put two of our service trucks out of commission for a month as well as other unit issues that needed addressed.
"Fleet"
Overall: It has been a great experience. Between the technology and customer service. Ascend has taken care of all my needs.
Pros: I like the simplicity of the technology. The customer service is great along with the variety of applications.
Cons: I don't like that the wireless devices don't provide any other info than the location.
"Customer Service is Outstanding"
Overall: The experience has been outstanding. I will and have recommended Ascend to my friends and colleagues.
Pros: The customer service aspect of Ascend is hands down the best in the industry. I have tried other companies and Ascend has the best customer service and support PERIOD!!
Cons: The reporting could be a bit more user friendly.
"Good Product! "
Overall: I've honestly been happy with Ascend. Just like any company, you are going to have issues. There will be things you like and don't like. The one thing that helped me choose Ascend was they have their own installers. You don't have to pay a third party company to install them. You also don't have to use your own employees to install them. A lot of places you just have to plug in the unit in the OBD2 spot but we don't like things getting unplugged. Ascend uses splitters so if we need to scan, nothing has to get unplugged and no one would even know there's a GPS in the trucks. I've even had the installer reach out to me and make sure we are happy with everything. If there's an issue, he's even been willing to help get it resolved! The installer cares just as much about the customer, as the customer support team and sales team does which is amazing!
Pros: For the most part, it has been very easy to use. The customer support has been very helpful and is very responsive and willing to help improve the software.
Cons: It doesn't automatically pull all of the vehicle engine hours. Some of them appear to be off. I know other companies software pulls everything current on the vehicle.
"Ascend GPS"
Overall: Our company uses Ascend to track our technician's time on each job for billing and the location of each asset for dispatch to the next job. The Ascend program has been accurate for asset location and helps our company manage waisted time by knowing what truck is in the area of the next job.
Pros: The switch to Ascend was seamless and the set up required very little effort by our company. The zoom call to explain how use the program was quick and informative which made using the program easy from the start. The Ascend team has always been prompt with answering any question we have had and has been very professional while never annoying us with pushy sales calls. After seven months of using Ascend we have only had one issue with a device and that problem was taken care of immediately by resetting the device remotely.
Cons: Being a program that we were not familiar with, it took a little time to learn how to use Ascend but after a couple calls and a little time playing around with the program we have found it easier to navigate the than the GPS services we have used in the past. Only complaint, it would be nice to be able look at start-stop drive times for an asset on a certain day for billing purposes instead of seeing the breadcrumb trail.
"User Friendly"
Overall: [sensitive content hidden] customer specialist assigned to me was amazing. Also, very informative and helped guide me through reports and other functions.
Pros: User Friendly. Easy to locate assets and report reports daily. Love it.
Cons: Nothing yet. Overall experience was great
"Ascend Fleet Dash Cams & Web System Interface"
Overall: We wanted to better manage our exposure to auto losses on fleet vehicles, so implementing dash cams with in-cab behavior coaching made sense to us. Additionally, the video from front facing cameras can help us exonerate our drivers in certain situations. Our Dispatch Team uses it everyday and has made their lives easier. Time will tell, but the investment made sense for us, as our vehicles are one of the key assets for our business.
Pros: Great service, from sales to installation to customer service, the Ascend Team made things easy. The cameras, GPS, and web system interface are as good or better than others that we looked at, and the price was competitive. Really great people too.
Cons: So far so good, we have just started with Ascend Fleet.
"Works Great for our Company"
Overall: CS is wonderful and helpful to make sure we are utilizing the product to the full potential.
Pros: The GPS tracking is spot on. We always know where our vehicles are at and have been. It even shows the street view to help figure out exactly where vehicle is at.
Cons: Camera storage is 5 videos per day per vehicle. Need more daily views allowed.
"Great Product"
Pros: The ability to track vehicles and get real time information
Cons: setting up the service for each vehicle still trying to figure it out.
"Timber Creek "
Pros: Easy to install as compared to wiring other trackers.
Cons: 3 yr contract is too long. I may not be in business in 3 years
"Checks every box!"
Overall: The customer service has been exceptional. From the time we started looking for a fleet management software until the time we selected the right one, the Ascend team of professionals have been attentive, knowledgeable and eager to learn about our needs. We look forward to using Ascend for many, many years. It has been a game changer for our 103-year-old tree company.
Pros: All of the features are impactful for our company. The MAP feature lets us see the assets as a glance. An example of the importance of the MAP feature is on a rainy day. We can let the crews know from headquarters what type of weather is coming their direction. This is key for all admin users. The Dashboards feature robust data. We can see which user is using the software and which users are not using it as a resource. We need everyone on our team to be aware of the software capabilities and benefits. The maintenance dashboard keeps us all in check and is vital to our communication with our owners, mobile mechanic and fleet manager. We have not used REPORTS to the fullest extent, but we are impressed with the output functions to date. The ALERTS feature saves us time by allowing us to plan service appointments as soon as a code is thrown on a vehicle. We can also use the alerts as a way to better coach our team to drive safely. It has been helpful with efficiency too; we notice if crew members are spending too much time "idle" and not at work. The MAINTENANCE features are also robust. We are still in the process of adding our data and needs to the system but so far it is stellar. All ADMIN features are easy to use and allow us to upload data as needed. The initial integration went super smoothly!
Cons: There has not been anything so far that I would say I dislike.
"ASCEND’s Implementation Flexibility"
Pros: ASCEND’s flexibility with the installation process made all the difference for us. They got our entire fleet (trucks, bandits, spider lifts and trailers) up and running in a single weekend, so downtime and disruptions were minimal and we were able to start automating and streamlining our operations in no time.
Cons: No cons yet, working on integration with our workforce management system now.
