Pros It is very user friendly, it can be implemented on perm as well as on cloud. This software is used by the fortune 500 companies such as unilever. It took a few months for me to get the hang of the system but now I feel pretty confident I know how to. The biggest issues I have are user-friendly experiences and the slowness of getting updates. Half of my job has been assisting people in using the DAM. It's a love-hate relationship but I know there is so much more potential with the system that we aren't using yet. Pros Once you get the hang of it, it is an amazing tool to store information and pass off to others. Cons It seems to break down a lot and there are server issues with it. As the main users are marketers, they are in contact with agencies that can provide systems with better look & feel, even if much less robust / scalable / secure. Xinet's own AFP stack (for Apple client connections) and plugin for Samba (Windows client connections) allows for the creative departments to work directly on the fileserver. No need to store files on any other fileserver or local client workstations. ' DAM System: File shares are setup to be available from the web and Pilot interface, metadata fields can be easily setup and assigned to the users and groups. Collaboration tools and Adobe Application integration included. Secure access through Portal (Proxy server) and customizable user interface.
