Once I had to make a payment in less than a minute. it was so easy to add the person as a recipient. We were able to order food from the restaurant before they closed. Venmo is terrible. Once Venmo kept money I sent my girlfriend in the ether for 3 days. She literally had to call and they completed the transfer. It was for $900, so needless to say I would have been livid if this money dissapeared. Pros How simple it was to send money to new people. I use Zelle often, and honestly the only reason I use zelle is because they don't take a portion of the funds. But it often messes up. Sometimes zelle takes days to process. You can actually rely on Cash App. Cons I had an issue one time changing the debit card I had linked to the app. After a few weeks it corrected itself. Other than that I haven't any gripes with it. I couldn't have been more wrong. I used Cash App all the time now. Especially to send money to people I don't know that well. I can add recipients so quickly. Administration Consumer Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Cash App: Quick peer to peer money transactions with reasonable fees" October 14, 2022 3.0 Overall, Cash App worked well to send money to peers at the speed you elect to with corresponding fees attached. The fees seemed reasonable and the option of receiving a physical card to use daily makes Cash App very appropriate for everyone. As long as your intended recipient had enrolled in a Cash App account the transfer of funds is easy and user friendly. Every transaction that I personally engaged in went through very rapidly and the App allows users to keep a log of all transaction history. The lack of customer support is the only thing holding me back from using Cash App as frequently as I would like to. I feel as if there are other money exchanging platforms that offer decent customer support allowing users to feel more comfortable with these types of services. Pros I mostly enjoyed how easy it was to link my bank account to my Cash App account and from there sending or receiving money was always quick and reliable. I also really enjoyed how a user can elect to receive a physical debit card with Cash App funds going directly to the card which can be used at any retailer location. Cons Cash App's downfall for me personally is their lack of accessible customer support. Customer support is difficult to contact in a timely manner when quick resolution is needed. When I needed to access a customer service representative, I was left no other option other than writing an email describing my issue and then waiting after submission for a response. I also felt that there was no easy way to dispute conflicts due to the lack of live customer support. Another critical downfall for myself was not being able to correct any transaction you may have initiated accidentally. Also, for some reason, many people complain that if they get paid with cash app they get charged a fee to withdraw, so they don't like to use it. I try to explain that they can use the cash back feature at a drugstore or grocery store and just buy some small thing and not be charged a fee, but I suppose they don't want to have to go shopping and would prefer an atm. Pros Most people have an account so I can get paid and pay out easily. It streamlines fairly easily with most other payment apps too- so I'm able to transfer regularly from Paypal or Venmo or my Varo online bank account. Transfers have always been instant except for one time the site was down for a few hours, and I was able to check that online to see the progress. Cons If sending to someone for the first time, you can't use the desktop site but are required to use the app on a phone, and there have been times that was an inconvenience. Also, it would be nice if it were easier to use the routing and account numbers as bank info. Not everyone accepts the cash app debit card for some reason. Occasionally I have wanted to connect this app but couldn't, so I had to use a middleman like venmo or paypal or an online bank account and then transfer from there. Also I don't like that you can only attach one card. I'd prefer to be able to add several. Reason for choosing Cash App More people use it and it is more streamlined. Review Source GM Gene M. Not a good reason. A small sum of money for my spouse. multiple attempts. Out of multiple payments, only one was handled. The others refuted. They have a poor anti-fraud algorithm. There is a good size amount of people that carry cashapp so I carry it too. Pros Cashapp is like Venmo and uses some of the same feature. But Cashapp is own by Square. I get an debit card to use for physical purchase. I have a few travels that take me to Canada. I just use my debit card instead of the need of carrying the nation money around. Cons I do wish that Square would add cashapp to it square payment system like Paypal did with Venmo. They keep them separate. Venmo has a business account now, I wonder if cashapp should do that. I wish Intuit would add Cashapp to Quickbooks software intergration. Pros Easy to use, although difficult to obtain any refunds, even with a police report which states the fraudulent activity. As well as the prosecution of those involved in the fraudulent activity. Yet for sone reason or another, I cannot receive my funds back from this company no matter how much I've tried to contact the support team and escalate the situation. Cons Customer support is fast to assist, yet not at all helpful in receiving a refund for fraudulent activity, even with the proof of a police report. I use it every day and multiple times thought the day. I use it to buy and use bitcoin and I also use it to pay for things in store and online. I have not had any major issues with using it yet. I have heard of other people who have had some major issues with it such as security and lost payments. Pros What I like most about cash app is the ease of use and the convenience of having it right there on my phone. My parents live many states away and they have been able to help me out with important things financially with ease. Cons What I like the least about cash app is the customer service. There isn't an easy to locate phone number to reach customer service about an issue. You usually have to use the chat system to reach someone about your issues and it can take a day or longer to receive a response. Most times I have not even known that someone has even responded to me. Connect any debit card or bank account & you can add money or send money. You even have the option to get a debit card to simplify things even more. If you are sent money you can deposit it into whatever account &/or debit card connected to your cash app account. With direct deposit you really do get your money early, even over the weekend unlike most Cons If you change your phone # connected to your cash app account, there's little chance to get back into your account. Customer service is terrible, too. Despite numerous in-app messages plus emails & phone conversations, the support staff never had all the information prior to each response. Cons Solid security measures with policies or protocols to protect their Users in the event of fraudulent activity are not one of their strong selling points. Customer service has improved, however responses are very much still untimely, without any guarantees to specific times and resolutions to issues are a hit and miss. There is no formal process to file a claim, except through their chat sessions, which can be lengthy since replied correspon may come from a different customer service each time. Difficult to use, difficult to navigate and its an absolute pain to get a straight answer from anyone. Also, no desktop support either.
