When I compare with other website builders like: Squarspace, etc. They seem to look more modern and more stylish. I do not know if I am staying with them or moving on in the near future. Pros I was able to create my website the way I wanted it. I had been fighting to create a website until I finally did it and decided to go with Weebly because my wife has her website with them and it looked pretty cool. I chose a template and replaced everything with my pics and videos and voila I had my website. Cons I feel like the website can be clunky and sometimes non responsive. Sometimes while dragging and dropping the different options for photos and videos the preview would not be an accurate depiction of what it actually looked like in the website. It would freeze sometimes and you would need to get out and come back in and pray that the changes you made were saved, sometimes it was and sometimes it was not. So simple to use that I recommend it to folks who are just starting out with websites. Pros Decently priced, many levels of engagement, easy to use, trusted, tried and true. Doesn't use flash and has old school options for simple sites. Monthly and Yearly and longer payment options. Cons It just didn't work for me as a performance artist. I couldn't find a design I liked and even though I know some HTML and CSS, I couldn't figure out how to use to customize my site design. Debated using WordPress but went with Weebly instead - like the fact that we didn't need a separate hosting service. Pros So simple and easy to use - lots of drag and drop features that make it easy to customize the look and feel of your website. Cons Sometimes I want a bit more customization and it's a bit of a struggle to make it happen - e.g. two columns of text with a line between them. Even though i can't use its e-commerce module it provides me to start my job. Pros Very user-friendly. Simple drag and drop functions bring ease of use. No need for a web developer. Ideal for start-up ecosystem. Broad web design options. Built-in app store do a great job for different use purposes. Cons The business plan doesn't support some payment options in my country, Turkey. For that reason, I cannot use its e-commerce module. Not all the themes support Turkish character fonts. Pros Weebly is free and easy to use. There is the option to pay to customise your own domain if you do not wish to have the weebly name in the domain, however the free version of the software doesn't excessively limit users. Themes are so customisable and pretty. 24/7 customer support. Cons I wish the website could be slightly more reliable, status can be down a lot. Sometimes the website can be incompatible with certain browsers. February 22, 2018 4.0 Pros Fantastically easy to use. There is no Website builder that is better. Weebly shines when it comes to making website building and blog setup easy for their users. The staff is remarkable and responds fast to any issues, the tools provided all work well, and it's a quick way to have an online presence for someone that knows no coding. Cons It can be expensive for what you get. A lot of features that most site builders have, Weebly doesn't. You can't remove the footer bar or use your own domain as an a la carte option, you have to pay for a starter/basic website, of which most features few people will actually use. People have requested the same features for years, and while the customer service reps are trying their hardest, Weebly developers keep leading people around in circles. If you're not a novice and can handle your own coding, Weebly shouldn't be your first or even third choice. Review Source Ursula F. It served me for 3 years, and now I will find. a profesional to do it. Pros I was able to design my own design website very quickly and easily. I was able to buy my domain through them and I had never done that before. The templates are very nice, simple and adapts greta to both mobile and computers. Cons The templates are nice and simple but unfortunately very limited. You cant change the base much. I wanted to have things like hoovering over a picture and I couldn't add that. Also I needed the page in two languages and I needed to purchase something else like a plugin or something , so if you need a bit more complexity in the page it is not great. December 5, 2018 5.0 Overall, Weebly is a great choice for a quick build of a nice website and anyone can do it. Weebly is... in my opinion a great example of where the "internet/web" is going... offering site design and site building/creation to anyone who wants it. The days of needing a "web designer" and waiting months for a new site are gone and there is a reason why there are few website companies around any more. Weebly has some limitations I suppose for very large companies who want a lot of customization... but other than that customer/client level... Weebly will work great for everyone else. Pros I have used Weebly for some basic websites that I needed to get up very quickly and for minimal upfront cost. My first site using them was at least 7 years ago and I still use them occasionally when needed. Nice templates/themes and can quickly build a nice website layout and add content. With the Pro level of site plan, you get great options like SSL (included in hosting at no extra charge) and other advanced site features to make the site look high-end. Cons The only con I have found is the cost of the Pro level (and Business level) is higher than comparable WordPress hosting. That said, the build time of a Weebly site is much quicker and easier to maintain, in my opinion... so it depends on how long the site will be hosted and then consider how often the site will be updated. We have always had rapid responses for tech support and they have always solved any issues we have encountered. It is one of the easiest and user-friendly ways to build a great website. Pros We use the reseller platform and it has ample features to give client access if necessary, and to allow exactly what they can change. There is a minimal traffic tracker that will show daily activity and a repository for any forms that have been filled out on the site. For businesses with multiple locations, it is easy to clone a site and simply change the address and contact info. The storefront platform is very easy to use, and has good features for anyone looking to sell online. The blog is simple to set up and is very effective as well as attractive. It is very easy to unpublish a site, place it in a temporary holding state, and republish quickly. Cons The templates could be updated a bit more frequently. Although there is a nice variety, other platforms have been faster at adding new template updates. There is a need for a restore program, allowing the individual/webmaster to quickly restore an accidental deletion. Pros I love how easy Weebly is to use! My organization is easily able to onboard those who aren't super tech-saavy as no knowledge of coding is required and the features are fairly straightforward. There customer support is very responsive and they have a huge forum with many questions already answered. Cons You are pretty locked into Weebly's pre-set formatting. There are work arounds with spacing, but I've had times where I wasn't able to get text or an item exactly where I wanted it on a page (whereas with coding you have complete control of this). I've also had a couple issue with freezing before I was able to save - which was a huge bummer. There are some glitches and lags, such as when you try to change font color by hex code, oftentimes you have to click a random color and THEN type in the text code- otherwise your changes will not show up. All doable things to cope with as long as you know, but irksome at times. Many of their apps require additional purchases. Review Source Courtney S. This is an annual paid offer. It's a quick way to get a website up and running with minimal knowledge, though it's cheap, so overall I like the product. Pros Weebly is suitable for consumers who do not know how to induce coding or who do not have prior experience/training in web design operations. What makes it easy to use is that the template layout has customization options that allow each user to adjust and align the option buttons. Cons The better the results you can claim for a business website, the more you will have to invest in the package deal options offered. When changes are made, you cannot undo them. You must contact support to have the uploaded lines removed. It has helped me to be able to keep excellent sales records and records sales data over time, which helps to evaluate for peak and slow times. It also solved the problem of having a platform to process payments easily from customers as well as print shipping without ever leaving my desk. Pros It is a nice entry level business website platform that lets one get started designing a website with a store. I had not had any experience designing my own website, but found using Weebly to build my site fairly intuitive and less daunting than some of the softwares I had looked at. Cons The design layouts were somewhat limited and unimaginative. I do not like that I am limited on my store checkout page as far as how many ordering options that I can offer. Their customer support is mainly limited to posting about problems on a community board that is monitored by Weebly staff and there really isn't any kind of one on one support for problems that arise. They also seem to change options on the checkout and shipping pages at times just for the sake of changing, but instead really causing problems. I would highly recommend using another service. Pros Before Summer 2020, the interface was user-friendly and intuitive. I was able to get a complete website up and running within days without the needs for software development nor Weebly's supports. Cons They must have updated their services over the summer 2020 and ended up wiping out our web design contents. They made a poor attempt to restoring our website. They refreshed our website from a copy in 2017! It must have been their last back up -- three years ago. They purposely did not notify us nor apologized for their errors. I found out when I accessed the website and discovered the issues. I tried to contact them since early August 2020, but they made it difficult to reach them. The only way was through the use of their automated email system. We received only an automated email response mentioned that they were backlog. Today is September 5, 2020. They still have not resolved their issue even after numerous requests. Time to report them and move on. Reason for choosing Weebly Before Square's acquisition, their website design system was intuitive and user-friendly. Now, they are just looking to make a profit above customer's needs. December 5, 2019 5.0 Excellent platform to build a small business website on, excellent templates, excellent UI, easy to use. I'd highly recommend giving the free option a try to see if it'll work for you Pros \-VERY user-friendly. Anyone can learn how to leverage Weebly to their advantage -Drag and drop features are top-notch -Free option worked great for me on a side project. You can see if Weebly is for you before paying for the premium features, which is always a good thing -Weebly allows me to keep organizaed and therefore allows me to be more efficient w/ my time -Excellent tool for smaller companies/teams/personal users -Excellent templates for people w/o the skills to do it on their own (or the desire to spend time on customizing when a template will do the job - aka me!) Cons Needs decent internet to use the editor. Has been an issue when I tried to make changes on some internet in a cabin I rented. Might not matter for you, but keep in mind if planning a trip somewhere remote? I really don't have anything to complain about w/ Weebly besides that. The version I used was free so was great for my small budget! Cons The content is limited on the free version, but you get what you pay for! I had no experience designing my own website and with this software I now have a very professional looking website that my friends and family are blown away that I created myself. They all thought I had used a professional web designer!!!! Whenever I had questions I called customer support and they were extremely helpful & knowledgeable. It is also very easy to change the information on the pages or add a new tab. You can change this website daily if you want to for no additional charge. Cons There really isn't anything I don't like about this software. It's the 1st software I used to design my website and I will never use another web building website because this product is so outstanding!! She was amazed when I used Weebly quickly create her a high end, uncomplicated website. Cons I think that the monitization (ads) should be more transparent and easier to set up. I like that I can make my website look good without having to need too much knowledge of how websites work. I have received several compliments on the style and look of my website. Pros This software is pretty easy to use for someone that is not completely website savvy. The templates they provide are easily customizable and helps to give your business a sleek look. Cons The one thing I have the most difficulty with is the slide show of pictures. When I try to add new pictures and change the order, it is a little difficult to see exactly what I am doing/want in the thumbnail view. I generally have to open my website in a tab to go through the pictures and figure out where they are placed. I am not sure if this would be easier to use with the premium upgrade. Some have written me to say they enjoyed the materials I have posted. Pros When I first started using Weebly, I enjoyed it's ease of use and the ability to customize each template to make it my own. I also like the click and drag feature of the different components of the website. Cons When I first started using Weebly, I enjoyed the large amount of different templates that they had to offer. Since they started updating their product, however, the options feel more limited. Although the new templates are more modern looking, a basic template is hard to find. In my field, there aren't too many photographs that we take either, so I find it difficult to fill up the new template with all the pictures they require. Review Source David K. Pros Weebly is such an amazing software to allow you to configure your website with a simple: drag, drop, and type/select what you need. I have created many websites for clients and friends with easy. Instead of using a website that needs to be fully coded, they give you a lot of different themes and settings to allow full control in your hands. Also, great feature is that you never need to update and their customer service is only there when you need them. Cons The only cons I could say is, it's less fully customizable than other websites that need to be fully coded but 90% of people/companies do not need a fully customized site because that takes a lot more work to keep running.
