### "Weebly - Chamber of Commerce Website"

January 13, 2025

5.0

It has been great overall, no big complaints.

Pros

The ease of use and ability to have our backend system connected to it for web banners, subscriber listing, member join form and more

Cons

The only negative aspect is the template cache we need to use for we pgae updates. We don't use it often but sometimes forget to run it when doing big time edits which limits the amount of time a oage may be fuklly updated.

### "Weebly is good for site building beginners"

May 5, 2025

Overall I would recommend Weebly for anyone new to web design and just starting out.

Pros

Very modern UI and easy to use drag and drop website builder. It also has built in e-commerce and account management features.

Cons

Since it got bought over by Square, the price has gone up extremely and is hard for small businesses.

### "An easy and eloquent but limited solution"

November 7, 2024

4.0

I began using Weebly as early as 2008 when creating my very first brand presence online. I used Weebly to create a beautiful website with photos of my handmade products. It was very easy to create and became even easier to use as the years went on from 2008 to about 2019. When Weebly added the addition of password protected pages, memberships, and e-commerce, they were truely ahead of the game in terms of an all one solution and and a solution that presented absolute ease. I have created blogs, e-commerce sites and even membership areas with Weebly. As an experienced user, I even taught Weebly to new business owners in my community from 2016-2018. I used to exclusively use and recommend Weebly for almost anything, but these items make me consider other options now depending on the project. My experience with Weebly overall has been good and very business empowering. That said, these days there are solutions that seem like they are more supported and get more frequent updates than Weebly.

Pros

Weebly is still by far one of the most, if not the easier, fastest way to get a beautiful website up knowing it will look good on both desktop and mobile right out of the gate.

Cons

Since Weebly was purchased by Square / Squareup, there have been few updates to the Weebly platform itself and it's apps. This means that some of the features on Weebly such as apps are outdated or no longer work correctly. In addition, it can be tricky to start and log-in to Weebly now without being redirected to Square. This is very confusing especially for someone new to website creation.

### "Loyalty accounts for NOTHING"

December 17, 2025

1.0

After over 10 yrs hosting my website I… After over 10 yrs hosting my website I get 4x the regular fee taken out of my bank. No explanation. After months of trying to get an answer I cancelled and got lame excuses why they ‘upgraded’ me and charged me 4x more. They said they’d give a refund and did not. The replies were somewhat arrogant too, AVOID

Pros

Not much. It was easy initially to setup but is very old tech now. Much better alternatives available

Cons

They have bad customer service and after over ten years they overcharged me by 4x without reason or consultation. I’ve cancelled!!

### "Great Site Building and Web Hosting Tool For Beginners Or Those Who Can't Do It Themselves"

August 28, 2025

5.0

Overall, Weebly has been a great tool to help me build websites when I didn't have any web development or programming experience. Additionally, they make it easy to publish websites for free with no subscription needed.

Pros

It has all the tools you need to build a website, like a blog or a professional website about you, without needing to start from scratch or do any of the programming or web server hosting or database management. Weebly handles all of the back end stuff for you. Therefore, the cost to build a website is free and you don't need any web development or programming experience.

Cons

Sometimes, when creating websites, even if you publish the website, it is not always visible on Google even if Weebly tells you it will be. Additionally, the site is too simplistic and doesn't offer advanced features that are part of websites in 2025.

### "Craft Beautiful and Cutting Edge Websites with the Worlds Best Website Builder Weebly"

December 16, 2024

5.0

My overall experience using Weebly is always great. Weebly has a free plan that enable anybody who wants to try its features to do so without incurring any expense and the free hosting option provided is a bonus as you can build a site and host it easily thereby its a powerhouse!

Pros

As we re-known website builder what i like most about it is that, Weebly has a variety of well crafted templates that are beautiful, Customizable and responsive. Coupled with the drag and drop features and a user friendly interface, Weebly ensures that even those with little technical expertise can build a simple site and host it with little guidance. Furthermore, it has a free plan with enough features thereby suitable for those who want to test the platform and also for personal use.

Cons

Everything about Weebly is wonderful. It ability to integrate with other third party apps extends its capability. Additionally, Weebly has a beautiful and easy to use interface that helps simplify the website building process. Thereby there is nothing i dislike about Weebly.

### "Good for Square Users, Limited for Everyone Else"

December 17, 2025

3.0

My experience with Weebly has been mixed, leaning more toward the underwhelming side. The one clear advantage is its deep integration with Square. If your entire business runs through Square and you want a simple way to sync products and manage basic ecommerce, Weebly does make that part easy. For sellers who rely exclusively on Square’s ecosystem, that tight connection can be convenient and straightforward. However, beyond that, the platform shows its age. The templates are extremely limited in both design and functionality, and most Weebly sites end up looking nearly identical. This isn’t just my experience—multiple expert reviews point out that Weebly’s themes are outdated, offer minimal customization, and haven’t seen meaningful updates in years. If you’re hoping to build something modern, flexible, or visually distinctive, you’ll hit the ceiling almost immediately. Weebly’s simplicity might appeal to beginners, but for anyone wanting creative control, scalability, or a professional‑grade site, the platform feels too basic. With stronger competitors offering far more design freedom and better long‑term support, Weebly struggles to keep up.

Pros

Maybe the only benefit to this basic website builder is that it deeply integrates with Square, which is only beneficial if you solely rely on Square for your products.

Cons

The templates they provide are lacking in design and functionality. Most if not all Weebly sites are very basic.

### "Weebly Simplifies Website Management"

May 26, 2025

4.0

Users can create beautiful web pages easily with Weebly. However, that simplicity can restrict some aspects of customization.

Pros

Weebly's drag-and-drop feature makes it easy to build website pages from the front end. The interface is simple to navigate, and a new website can be created fairly quickly.

Cons

Sometimes simple to use is too simple. Not having access to the HTML code is limiting. Also, trying to get the Image elements in the correct places and to stay put during editing can be challenging.

### "Weebly is a good starter website builder"

October 3, 2024

4.0

Overall weebly is a good option to start a website. However, it will cost more to add features I feel should be included in the cost.

Pros

Weebly is easy to use if you have no experience creating a website. They have several pre-made templates you can customize for your industry. The price is very reasonable as well.

Cons

Features that were once free, now cost more. The mobile version is not very user friendly.

### "Great Choice for E-Commerce Businesses"

October 25, 2024

4.0

I've ran my website through Weebly for about four years, and overall I've been very happy with its features. I've had a few hiccups along the way with the platform, but I am still very satisfied and intend to stick with them.

Pros

Weebly is easy to use and customize, so I was able to create an excellent website with little past experience. Also, adding new products is super fast and simple, which is crucial for my jewelry business.

Cons

The platform is quite glitchy, crashing out on mobile regularly. It is also quite expensive. The only premium feature I needed was the custom domain, yet I still had to pay $30.00 a month extra.

### "I've Been Using Weebly Since Childhood, Here's What I Think"

November 14, 2024

5.0

Weebly has a special place in my life, as I essentially grew up with the brand. It's a perfect website builder for those that need small, personal websites or student project websites. For those with more intensive needs, I may suggest looking elsewhere. However, Weebly still gets the job done.

Pros

I like the simplicity of Weebly that allows even a middle school student to set up a website with ease. In fact, I made my first websites with Weebly in middle school, and still have one Weebly website as an adult. The drag-and-drop builder makes Weebly a premier choice for beginners.

Cons

As the years pass, Weebly seems to be behind the times with regard to new features. For example, I asked years ago if Weebly would ever get video backgrounds like their competitor, Wix. It was "still in the works," but I don't think that feature has been implemented yet.

Alternatives considered

[Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/)

Reason for choosing Weebly

While I do use Wix for my business website, I still use Weebly for my own personal brand website. Weebly gets the job done for a cheaper price than Wix, and I don't need intensive features for my personal website.

### "Best for Personal Use"

January 8, 2025

4.0

It is effective to use among small groups and allows for information to be easily stored and accessed, though it is hard to have an attractive design.

Pros

The interface is easy to navigate. It allows you to quickly create a website for personal or professional use.

Cons

While the interface is easy to navigate, it is difficult to create a sleek and modern design using the platform. It would be difficult for an organization to make a very attractive website using this platform.

### "Weebly - mostly ups, relatively few downs."

August 30, 2024

4.0

Positive overall, from the perspective of a relatively confident graphic designer able to create and manipulate graphics to add hero images / vectors to pages. Without a really good licensed image library, you might find it a struggle to create a unique and attractive website, but that's part of the challenge and where the satisfaction comes from; creating a beautiful website shouldn't be a piece of cake - you should expect to have to work (a little) at it!

Pros

Very intuitive and simple to achieve a reasonable level of professionalism with limited graphic design skill. Handy features for e-commerce, shipping settings allow tax and weight customisation based on territory. For simple content-based website, pretty quick and satisfying to use.

Cons

For more detailed product / brand shops, can be a little clunky to upload and customise new products, and has limited functionality in terms of sub-menus for product categories, with some layouts being very limited without being able to create custom code. Shipping costs can be confused, with items inheriting the wrong cost leading to an expensive overseas order (\*this happened once).
