Scheduling can be daunting but The Church Crew makes it easy. Cons What I like least about The Church Crew is that it has AI capabilities and I am still not sure if AI is safe. I’ve also loved the contact that I’ve gotten from the site addressing my concerns and answering my questions. Top notch! Pros I love that it does what we need it to for the price we can afford! It takes so much mental work off of me to know that my volunteers are at least getting notified the day before their scheduled shift. Cons There are a few things that I’d like to see improved. I wish it would alert me that my volunteer has confirmed their shift. I get a little nervous that they didn’t see their reminder. That’s probably the biggest thing I’d like the option to have. Reasons for choosing The Church CREW I knew of other sites out there but they were usually too expensive. I heard about the church crew on the keeping it young podcast. We're climbing the learning curve, which is going to be necessary with any software, and so far nothing has come up that we can't overcome. We did hit a small glitch and had to file a support ticket, but it was handled immediately, literally within hours, which was amazing! Pros We love the simplicity of the platform. We don't need a whole lot of bells and whistles, but we definitely wanted the individual volunteers to be able to manage their own schedule and be able to swap assignments if necessary without going through a mediator. Cons It would be nice to tailor each individual week for how many volunteer positions are needed. For instance, if we're having a bigger event some Sunday, it might be nice to be able to add three positions to a task for that day without having to change the whole task setup. Reasons for choosing The Church CREW We preferred both the simplicity for doing what we needed to do, which was schedule volunteers, while also giving them control over their availability and schedule, especially if something had to change after things were assigned. I don't want our volunteers to burn out (or me for that matter), so having software like this can help ease some of that monotonous administrative work. Pros There aren't a ton of bells and whistles, which is totally fine. I just want something to help with overseeing a variety of ministries, scheduling volunteers, and keeping things orderly as best as possible. Cons I would like to have others with administrative access so that they can go right into the software and work with their team members.
