Once I got my scripts working they just run and I forget about them. The debugging side tested my patience a bit, but the payoff of having reliable little automations that cost nothing has been well worth it. Pros The big win for me is that it's free and it runs on a schedule without me babysitting it. I've written a couple of scripts that quietly do their thing in the background. One watches my personal Gmail and forwards messages from certain senders straight to my phone as a text, and another handles voicemail notification emails for my wedding business. I looked at Zapier for the same jobs but Apps Script ended up being more reliable and didn't cost me anything, which matters when you're running lean. Cons Debugging can be slow going. When something isn't working you end up leaning on logs and a lot of trial and error, and the documentation is thinner than I'd like for the trickier stuff. Pretty simple to use, even for those who are not coders.
