### "Decent free option for Macbooks"

August 5, 2025

4.0

It’s been decent and easier to present offline than others but I still prefer other softwares for building slides.

Pros

The only thing I liked about Keynote was that my company created the slides for us to copy and use. I prefer more universal slide presentation software.

Cons

It’s not as user friendly as some other options out there. Simple to present, but not as easy to build.

### "Well done, Apple!"

Pros

The easy use for any situation, extraordinary nice designs for your presentation, the transitions are quite smooth.

Cons

There is nothing tremendously bad about it. So what should I say? Perhaps it requires a little skill.

### "Post Oak Tech Review"

July 9, 2025

3.0

I normally use keynote with Apple devices, so that I do not encounter frustrations. Learning how to use it can be challenging, but once you get a hold of it, it is useful.

Pros

It is user friendly, multiple templates to choose from. The design elements are really helpful and it is included for Apple users.

Cons

if you do not have an apple device, it is difficult/limited for non-apple devices. Keynote files can be quite large. Exporting it is a challenge.

### "Hidden Gem"

May 15, 2025

5.0

Since the first time i used it, it was a smooth seamless system. I stumble upon it by accident because i was not even aware apple had their own presentation platform.

Pros

The smoothness of the system, ease of use and the presentation mode. Makes for a user friendly experice

Cons

I dont really have any negative things to say about it. I just with more people know about it because powerpoint has such a big name to it.

### "Much better design options than PowerPoint"

October 10, 2022

5.0

Overall I love using Keynote. Most of my coworkers have PCs and use PowerPoint. My projects always have that extra bit of flair and I love the amazing built in templates as well as the hundreds of options available in Toolbox for iWork.

Pros

I love that Keynote has almost all the design features available in Pages. If you have used Pages, it is easy to apply all the beautiful options to your projects. Not only is this software free for Mac users, but it has much better templates and design options than PowerPoint as well.

Cons

There are a few date migration or integration options that PowerPoint has that Keynote doesn't have, but I in all my years using Keynote I have only had one project that I could accomplish with this software. Recent updates have added more date merge options that I am excited to try when I have a project that needs them. There are occasional design options that don't export well when I have to convert my Keynote presentation to a PowerPoint file, but it is getting better and I have learned which features not to use if I know I will have to create a PowerPoint version to share with coworkers.

Reason for choosing Keynote

I love the design feature of Keynote. The pre-made templates and the custom design features available in Keynote make this my go to for all my projects. It is so much easier to use as it works just like Pages which I use every day.

Many years ago I found it necessary to use both Microsoft Office software and iWork on Mac. Over the last few years and updates I have stopped paying for my office subscription and do all my projects in Pages, Keynote and Numbers.

### "A great alternative to MS PowerPoint or Google Slides "

January 11, 2023

5.0

Overall, we are happy with the features Keynote offeres, especially since it is included for free with all Apple products. Keynote is easy to use, allows us to export files for viewing in PowerPoint, and has solid presentation features.

Pros

The biggest advantage to Keynote is the fact that it is native to Apple products and is included with them at purchase, something Microsoft does not do with its Office suite by default. The biggest strnght of Keynote is that it is already there and avaiable for use by our team.

Cons

Keynote lacks some of the deeper features that MS PowerPoint and Google Slides do, including sharing and collaboration tools. While the lack of these is a bit inconvenient, our team still uses Keynote on a pretty regular basis.

Alternatives considered

[Microsoft PowerPoint](https://www.capterra.com/p/141633/PowerPoint/)[Google Slides](https://www.capterra.com/p/178686/Google-Slides/)

Reason for choosing Keynote

Keynote was easily accessible to all our team members already and did not require any additional installs or licenses.

Cost was definitly a factor. By utilizing Keynote which came pre-installed on our Apple devices, our team was able to save quite a bit on MS Office licenses.

### "Keynote time"

August 4, 2022

4.0

It has been useful for my short presentation that I needed it for and I use it a lot for my overlays and animated images on Imovie project. plus it is free.

Pros

I have been a powerpoint user for a long time. But this is the first time I can stay on mac programs and not rely on Microsoft products. I can put together a presentation and send it to my Iphone or Ipad and be ready to go. I started to use IMovie and I found out the people use Keynote to make overlays for their Imovie projects.

Cons

There are a few things that Keynote lacks from Powerpoint. But It is better than google slides.

### "Powerful presentation tool!"

November 2, 2022

5.0

It's a great tool to work and collaborate.

Pros

As many Apple software solutions the user interfase is very intuitive and allows people get done fast with their presentations. The feature that we love most is online collaboration because it allows several people to work on the same presentation so you don't have to share the file over and over by email getting to the perfect presentation.

Cons

It only work in Apple devices, but if you have one you are wasting money by using other software.

### "Keynote for Mac Users and works with Microsoft too"

July 26, 2022

5.0

Great. As an Apple user I love being able to use an iPad, iPhone or Macbook to edit my files. The files are reliable and look really great for presentations or lessons that I give.

Pros

This software utilizes integration with the cloud, for easy access and editing from anywhere. It is very comparable to Powerpoint, just takes a little getting used to where everything is. I think some features work better in Keynote while others are better in Powerpoint.

Cons

Getting used to a different interface was a minor annoyance and worth it. The good news is Numbers, Keynote and Pages are very similar in their tool layouts, so learn one and you learn them all, to an extent.

### "Best for Mac users"

April 26, 2022

5.0

Keynote is a great tool for presentations, but not the one I use the most. The only reason for that is the fact that our company usually demands presentation files for Powerpoint or links to Google Slides. Converting files then becomes somewhat of a hassle. Otherwise, it is really easy to set up slides. I use Keynote whenever I can present from my computer.

Pros

It works seamlessly with any Apple device. Design options are superior to Google Slides or Powerpoint. I can move slides with my Apple watch!

Cons

I like Keynote, but only use it when I am 100 % certain I would be able to use my computer to present. If that is not the case, I usually do the presentation in Google Slides. I am not too happy with exporting to other formats (due to some minor design changes).

### "Keynote: The king of presentation software"

November 15, 2022

5.0

I am a Keynote fan knowing that I have not tapped into ½ of its capabilities. It's a workhorse!

Pros

I love the ease of working from multiple documents and being able to add parts of each of them into my presentation. This software is my favorite. I even like it better than Pages because of the drag and drop capabilities. I even use it to think and process workshops I develop before I build the presentation. It's an awesome tool!

Cons

Adding video and making it work every time. That some companies don't use it and want to transfer it to PowerPoint - it never is a flawless transfer in either direction.

### "Best visual presentations software"

May 19, 2022

5.0

KeyNote allows me to have unlimited creativity both on video editing and Graphic Design

Pros

I thing KeyNote takes the cup mostly on visual side on presentation software: - The user interface is not intimidating it is user friendly and it is easy to navigate and search for tools. - The 3D chart animation makes an impressive presentation. - The animation tools such as building, actions and built out, multiple objects, motion paths, magic move produce an engaging content from 2D motion graphic to customized Gif cards or Gif posts. - The software has amazing preset templates for different type of presentations. - Background image removal tool saves time instead of taking image to professional photo software first.

Cons

\- The keynote is only accessible to Mac users. - The KeyNote limits on exporting file types compared to its competitor's softwares.

### "A perfect tool for amazing presentations"

July 11, 2022

5.0

I can create amazing documents through Keynote, but I need much storage on my computer and in my iCloud.

Pros

This is the only software I know that allows the creation of such beautiful documents, with several features available to use creativity and leave an impeccable design in my creations. In addition, through it, I can also share documents and make changes with other people.

Cons

Unfortunately, Keynote uses a lot of storage, which is a big downside, making my iCloud more expensive as a result. Another negative point is that it is a limited-use software since only Apple users can enjoy it, making it difficult to share files.

Pros

Cons
