September 27, 2024 4.0 My overall experience with LinkedIn Learning has been great. The platform offers a wide range of courses that are easy to navigate, and I appreciate the flexibility to learn at my own pace. The instructors have diverse and in depth knowledge, and the content is relevant and easy to follow. I personally have gained valuable skills that I can apply directly at my work, and the certificates I earn are a nice addition to my LinkedIn profile. Overall, it's been a fantastic resource for my professional development! I recommend this for all who are keen to learn forever. Pros Linkedin Learning is one of the best learning platforms which offers. Pros It's platform allows you to double check what attributes your ideal employer is looking for and email for either small smart goals, or long term ones. The system also personalise recommendations to what you want to achieve, so it helps shape your learning into what you want. Cons I personally felt like there are not many hands-on practice. For instance, with coding challenges, solving real-world challenges and getting feedback seems like a must, specially for someone looking to learn new skills to change fields. It integrates with LinkedIn and certifications can be added to your profile! Cons Courses required a monthly fee and the certifications are not formally accredited. I also like the different admin settings. It’s good that any manager can create learning pathways and assign them to their teams. Cons Some of the reporting could improve as the different metrics are quite disjointed and provide different results, for example when viewing most popular courses vs most popular skills learnt. I also feel there should be an option to search by region, as a lot of content is American and as a UK business I feel most training comes across as more authentic and relevant when the voice delivering the training is also from the UK. Pros It is a very useful tool for people who do not know about other learning platforms. If you have a linkedin account, it is very easy to access to a lot content and gain a lot of knowledge. However, I would not use LinkedIn Learning as the only training resource. Pros I like how LinkedIn Learning provides a wide range of business and marketing topics that can be broken up into digestible portions. One can complete the courses at their leisure, and not have to complete all the sections in one sitting. Cons It depends on the course, but some of the marketing concepts are rather basic. While I understand that LinkedIn Learning seeks to be accessible to everyone regardless of experience level, I was hoping that it would also offer something more for those like myself with more experience. If their content is desirable and no other content is needed, I would also recommend using LinkedIn Learning like an LMS since you can use LiL to create pathways and plans for employees, while also including internal content hosted in SharePoint or elsewhere. Pros LinkedIn has a very efficient UI and looks/feels great for employees. It's also easy to search for content and keep employees engaged. LinkedIn customer support is great too. Cons The content LinkedIn offers is mainly for soft-skills (business, project management, etc.) and does not cater towards deeper learning of technical skills (aside from high-level overviews).
