Front-End developer Information Technology and Services Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Visual Studio Code competitor" November 18, 2022 5.0 It's a perfect match for every Ruby/RoR developer on any level of experience if you're okay with the price. Pros The level of pre-configuration of this IDE for ruby/RoR development is brilliant on every field, but for someone who wants to cut expenses I'm not sure if its worth its price against Visual Studio Code + community free plugins. The biggest advance of RubyMine is that its basically ready to go since day 1 of installing it vs some tinkering required when going with free alternatives. I've used RubyMine long time ago, but from what I remember I've enjoyed most is syntax highlight/intellisense and how i18n translation mechanism is being handled - managing multiple languages and updating it even in huge projects was very comfortable in comparison to other IDEs not dedicated to Ruby/RoR development. Cons The price. RubyMine, like most of the software from IntelliJ is very pricey, but if software development is your daily job, then you can eventually go through it. As far as I've remembered RubyMine was also very memory-heavy and it has not always run smooth on every hardware (but that might be an outdated information as I was using RubyMine couple years ago). Software Developer Hospital & Health Care Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "A unique ID for web developers in ruby" July 23, 2022 5.0 I have used this IDE for no more than 8 months where I have had the opportunity to develop web applications using Ruby as a programming language and its Ruby on Rails framework, this IDE has helped me take this development to another level both in agility, organization and performace at the time of delivery Pros What I like most about this ID is that it is easy to use, organizes the code and helps developers use best practices with unique recommendations in the Ruby language and its Ruby on Rails framework for web development. Cons In the little that I have used the product, I have not yet found any negative characteristics, but I know that not everything is perfect. Review Source Victor G. Even had support for ruby based options and things like gradle to help with ruby development. Cons A better tutorial on how this affected or changes different options especially with how it effects the ruby environment. A bit expensive as well if not used all the time. I was used to write queries and try those out with oracle. Pros Most importantly, this supports various data types like text, binary data and numbers and oracle can handle large amount of data efficiently. Also we can easily integrate it with multiple programming languages where I used it in multiple projects with different languages. This supports data backup and replicas and it make sure the availability of data in an unexpected condition. Cons As a drawback what I see is the resource consumption of the tool.
