### "Android Studio, my stepping stone to app development."

August 1, 2025

5.0

Incredible performance, and user friendly. I've been using Android Studio for a while and have completed few projects written in Kotlin and Flutter language. Proud moment for me, as my first Android App was built using Android Studio and the journey I had was truly challenging but with this, it was a lot more easier.

Pros

The efficiency and the flow is the main key that raises the bars of Android Studio. Special appreciation for the User Interface.

Cons

Often faced errors while setting up the on device simulator to test the apps other that it is a game changer.

### "Everything integrated"

February 2, 2023

5.0

I got promoted thanks to android studio. It's UI and UX really easy to use. And you can find much resources for it. Just search it.

Pros

First of all i love the idea game development. It's giving a chance to develop games. It's not specially build for it but you can develop a game. I'm using this software almost for 10 years. I've started from java. Now i can also develop flutter. You can build almost anything for mobile. It's have virtual devices so you dont have to worry about to have physical device. Plus if you have a physical device and if you connected to it just once you can continue build with wi-fi. It was the first time that i see it with android studio. It's really a masterpiece for android development.

Cons

Well i really dislike latest Logcat. Android studio should colorize old LogCat and it's all set.

Reason for choosing Android Studio

I love Visual Studio Code. But i dont think its good for mobile development. Thats why i think android studio is better. It specially build for it.

### "Good IDE for mobile app. Great Emulator."

April 6, 2026

4.0

Android Studio is a great tool for mobile developers. White the IDE is not easy to use and very resource heavy, the emulator alone is worth the install for easier android app testing and debugging.

Pros

Powerful IDE focused on android development. It is feature packed with essential functions such as built-in emulator which is the most useful feature for my mobile app developments.

Cons

Very resource heavy program, even on high-end PC I'm currently using, I'm, still experiencing lags and freezes. It is also not very easy to learn and may be more time consuming to develop an android app.

### "A Versatile Integrated Development Environment (IDE)."

June 21, 2023

3.0

In conclusion, Android Studio is a better tool for Android app development. Its robust set of features, seamless integration with Android SDK, and powerful debugging capabilities make it a top choice for both beginner and experienced developers. Despite the initial setup process, the benefits it offers in terms of productivity and efficiency far outweigh any minor inconveniences. I averagely recommend Android Studio to anyone involved in Android app development.

Pros

From creating new projects to debugging and testing, the IDE provides a seamless workflow that makes app development efficient and streamlined. The user interface is clean and intuitive, allowing developers to navigate through projects and access various tools with ease. One of the standout features of Android Studio is its advanced code editor. The IDE is built on the IntelliJ IDEA platform, which brings intelligent code completion, real-time error checking, and powerful refactoring capabilities.

Cons

One area where Android Studio can be improved is its initial setup and configuration process. It requires downloading and installing various components, which can be time-consuming, especially for developers new to Android development. However, once the initial setup is complete, the IDE runs smoothly and performs exceptionally well.

### "The only tool for android dev"

March 27, 2026

5.0

It's literally the only tool that does what I need for app development. In particular, I use it to figure out which selectors actually work for certain tasks in appium

Pros

It was the only reliable way for me to run an app through a suite of tests. The appium connector was mostly used in tandem with android studio to achieve this. Really convenient.

Cons

The amount of battery that android studio consumes (on my macbook pro m4) is insane. I wish it was a little bit more efficient.

### "Ultimate IDE for android devs"

August 20, 2023

I feel this IDE help me start and finish any android app, it has many fractures and tools others IDE doesn't

Pros

I love all cool tools android studio provides, that renders my design in kotlin and xml, and that I can drag and drop elements to the UI I'm developing. Also the new IDE UI is cleaner and beautiful

Cons

Shortcuts are not intuitive, so it would be nice to set VSCode shortcuts faster, also android studio is not exactly a low size IDE, so it takes a lot of system resources

### "Best tool for flutter app development"

November 28, 2022

5.0

I started using it for flutter app development. It was a great experience. Most of the options like build app, compile, and archive can be accessed using a few mouse clicks. It is convenient and fast. It is even recommended for novice users.

Pros

Easier to develop a flutter application. Most of the options can be accessed with a single mouse click. Not much configuration is required when setting up for flutter app development

Cons

Memory intensive. It uses lots of RAM & CPU. This is a problem when working on Android Studio with other tools like VS Code

Switched from

[Visual Studio Code](https://www.capterra.com/p/186634/Visual-Studio-Code/)

Initially, I used VS Code because I'm familiar with it. But it requires lots of configuration and faster development. But Android Studio made it simple. Usually, Installing Android Studio, Flutter & Flutter Plugin for Android Studio is enough to start with flutter app development. It also comes with Emulator

### "The go-to solution for building Android applications"

January 11, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Android Studio is really good. IntelliJ has done an amazing job with this IDE. I've been using it for more than 10 years now and have successfully developed more than 5 applications on it. I wish it was even simpler to use with a less stiff learning curve and I also wish it was a bit lighter in terms of resource usage.

Pros

I love the user interface. IntelliJ has done a great job. It also makes it really easy to spin up virtual devices with the os version of your choice.

Cons

Very recently I updated Android Studio to the latest version and it introduced many issues to my Flutter project. An incompatibility of Java and Grandle came up and I'm still trying to resolve it.

Very good; it is very helpful for Android app development and it is very feature-rich to support development.

Pros

It has a clean interface and is well organized. It's good for developing android apps and has a good emulator as well.

Cons

It can be difficult to get used to if coming from a different IDE, since it has extra features specific to android development and a different layout.

### "Best IDE for creating Android APKs"

March 16, 2025

5.0

Positive experience. Builds the Android app including the manifest ready for submission to the Play store.

Pros

De-facto standard for creating Android applications. Does as promised!

Cons

We used a hybrid system where our frontend is rendered with React in the Android application. Didn't integrate completely with Android Studio and still required some manual steps during the build.

### "The best IDE for android development"

November 12, 2022

4.0

Overall I am pretty happy with it. It's free, works well and has tons of features which keep on improving. The time of developing Android in other IDEs as Eclipse is long gone. This is the best IDE for android.

Pros

It keeps on improving after each release. The team behind its development is just great: they listen to the developer community and they keep on implementing feature which make our life as coder much easier.

Cons

I really don't like when new updates cause the project build to fail. More often than not it's very difficult to understand the reason behind it because each project is different and not many people might have encountered the specific issue already on stack overflow. In those cases you will be forced to stick with the older studio version for a little longer.

### "Android Studio is such an awseome tool"

May 5, 2022

5.0

I have been using Android Studio for almost 2 years now and it has been practically the only tool I have used for developing Android apps, it has layout edition, compiling, debugging, you can query local DBs directly from the tool, and a lot more.

Pros

This is such a powerful and yet an easy to use tool for developing Android applications, at the beginning it may be a bit intimidating the navigation and the different options it has but as you get more and more used to it you'll see the reason why. That's basically all you'll ever need from writing your first line of code to deployment of the app.

Cons

Not any that I can identify, probably I was not able to see how to develop some Node.js functions I needed to deploy in Firebase and I had to use another tool for it. But that was just a one time issue.

### "The best tool to get started in Android mobile app development"

January 27, 2023

4.0

I have developed some applications related to the consumption of Google services, it has so much flexibility and compatibility with other tools, which allows developing native android applications with great ease, an intuitive interface environment allows developing easily without the need to know code based on the styling of the components.

Pros

This IDE allows you to use default Android application templates that will allow you to easily develop an application in just a few programming sessions. Similarly, if your development is based on Java, you will have no problem in implementing applications.

Cons

It has so many functionalities that it will be tedious to understand how the tool works 100%.

Cons
