### "The only tool for android dev"

March 27, 2026

5.0

It's literally the only tool that does what I need for app development. In particular, I use it to figure out which selectors actually work for certain tasks in appium

Pros

It was the only reliable way for me to run an app through a suite of tests. The appium connector was mostly used in tandem with android studio to achieve this. Really convenient.

Cons

The amount of battery that android studio consumes (on my macbook pro m4) is insane. I wish it was a little bit more efficient.

### "Creación con Android Studio"

January 25, 2025

5.0

### "The complete suite for android app development"

April 19, 2024

4.0

Being the only full-fledged solution provided by Google, Android Studio has become a crucial part of my development life cycle. I am using it for both native and cross-platform app development. Despite its simplistic design, it still houses all of the integral components of app development (SDK, IDE, emulator). But I preferred that it didn't get cluttered with unessential packages and tools. And Android Studio allowed such nuanced customizations for me. I am using it to test, debug and compile apps after writing the code in React Native.

Pros

Its minimalistic UI provides a smooth experience for me. The documentation is quite expansive and is appropriately formatted for ease of read. This helps in breaking the complicated process of app development into manageable tasks. Installation is as simple as clicking an executable. ADB driver installation is seamlessly done along with it. The SDK manager is quite versatile. I was able to customize the package installation according to my needs. Necessary dependencies for cross-platform development can also be installed with the SDK manager. And it integrates quite well with React Native - which is the cross-platform solution that I currently use alongside and almost on a daily basis. It also features a robust CLI for advanced developers. The emulator allows testing and debugging apps on a variety of devices using downloadable device images.

Cons

The SDK manager does not clarify the functionalities of individual packages. This makes figuring things out difficult for first-timers. It also can't handle unstable internet connection very well. I had to try a couple of times to download and install the packages. Customer support is mainly community-based. It is very unlikely that you will get direct help from the Android Studio team.

### "Android Studio - Create Android apps the easy way"

December 28, 2022

4.0

Android Studio is a wonderful coding IDE for Android developers. Being filled with resources, templates, emulators and plugins, Android Studio allows developers to lead a smooth coding experience with all the resources they need. Android Studio appeals not only to professional developers, but also beginners by having the option to drag and drop pre-installed views, buttons, lists, etc. You can look up full explanations of code snippets and functions on their wiki/documentation website made by Google, yet be ready to frequently install many updates. So if you are an Android developer, Android Studio is perfect for you.

Pros

Android Studio is packed with resources and tools, making it a professional IDE for many users. You can create graphical layouts visually instead of only seeing code, start full Android emulators with different screen sizes, i.e. tablets, smartphones and even watches, choose from a variety of pre-installed icons, plugins and blueprints saving the user a lot of time. Being from Google, Android Studio has a packed and beautifully designed website about documentation and implementation of Java/Kotlin and even C++ code with examples. Furthermore Android Studio integrates plugins and add-ons from the community directly into the code and allows the programmer to install packages and import whole projects from other sites like GitHub.

Cons

Android Studio receives many updates and I mean a lot of them. Every time I open Android Studio a popup appears requesting me to download a new update or package, which angers me a lot. These updates, which most of the time aren’t major ones and consume a lot of storage, have to first of all get downloaded, then installed, then the whole program restarts, which finally lets me continue using my project. Updates are great and all, but I would love to have the updates installed automatically in the background without asking the user every single time if they want to update. Being resource packed and full of options and tools, new comers may get confused, because at first glance everything feels crowded and unorganised. So before reaching the coding flow, new users have to get used to the whole layout with all its settings and options.

### "Agrxis Review on Android Studio"

May 18, 2023

5.0

I can state with confidence based on my experience with Android Studio that it has revolutionized my Android development efforts. The program offers a thorough and potent environment that makes the whole development process simpler. I value how easily the Android SDK is integrated, as it gives me access to many more tools and libraries to improve my app development. It is simple to navigate and interact with different project files, layouts, and code thanks to the user interface's intuitive design. My apps' testing and problem-solving have benefited greatly from the built-in emulators and debugging tools. I was also able to overcome any obstacles I ran into because to the extensive community help and documentation offered by Android Studio.

Pros

I adore Android Studio so much! I value the wide variety of features and tools that Android Studio provides as a developer. My Android applications are easy to create, test, and debug because to the platform's seamless integration. I can easily write clean and effective code thanks to the intelligent code editor's code completion, error detection, and refactoring features. I can quickly test my apps on a variety of gadgets and screen sizes thanks to the built-in emulators and device simulators. The layout editor makes creating user interfaces simple and aesthetically pleasing. My development workflow is further improved by the enormous selection of plugins and extensions offered in the Android Studio ecosystem. Android Studio has grown to be my preferred IDE for developing Android apps because to its extensive feature set and outstanding performance.

Cons

While I have had a positive experience with Android Studio overall, there are a few aspects that I find could be improved. One thing I find challenging is the initial setup and configuration process. It can be quite time-consuming, especially for beginners who are new to the Android development environment. Sometimes, the installation and setup of necessary dependencies and SDKs can be a bit confusing and may require additional troubleshooting.

### "King of all Application Builder"

December 8, 2022

5.0

Pros

As a mid-level programmer, Android Studios welcomes you into the world of programming with a soft landing.I can code with Flutter, Java, Kotlyn, and C++, with support for over 100 other languages that I don't use. That's why I called it the King of All App Builders. You get an intelligent app builder with massive support and a full range of extensions to welcome you into programming. The app builder not only shows you bad errors when coding, but it also helps filter bad code and can help you streamline issues with your code. After building, I can easily generate the key file for my app, generate an APK, and upload it directly to the Android Application Playstore. It helps to know that an app like Builder has an online forum to help with issues and problems we are facing.

Cons

It takes a long time to load.I know it's an all-in-one app and has so many facets and features, but I'll suggest making it a bit faster to load. With so many updates, it can be difficult to keep up because of unexpected emulator stoppages, builder interruptions, and stoppages.

### "Perfect IDE for Hybrid/ Native Android Development!"

February 12, 2023

5.0

Me and my team are using Android Studio for native and flutter app development since the college lab days. We also tried NetBeans, but it was not much great when it comes to syntax highlighting and auto-code completion. I would suggest to try VSCode also.

Pros

Android Studio is a very sophisticated tool for app development. There are some pros when compared to other alternatives:- In-house Emulators for live-debugging of app (enabled live trials), and varied device catalogue to choose from.- Supports newer compiled languages like Dart, Flutter and Kotlin. It boosts efficiency. - Drag and Drop UI-builder is very replenish-able and innovation, it also induce more inspirations to be drawn out.- Test-drive development (TDD) made easy. Clean coding can easily be practised. - Awesome features like in-memory data storage, syntax highlighting and code auto-complete, suggestive completion.

Cons

There are no such cons, its just that it requires a very high-end hardware accelerated GPUs for computation. But it would be great to use (IaaS) Virtual Machines, rent them to run Android Studio on top of it.

### "Better than most IDEs"

August 14, 2023

4.0

Very positive. It could have been much bad so cant complain, wish some performance improvement.

Pros

I use it the most and it is very dependable. I love the Git window and I always prefer it over other desktop tools like GITHub and SourceTree.

Cons

Some tools are impossible to use on windows, Like the app inspector works for the first couple of minutes when inspecting network but it slows the whole system down way too much, have to detach the inspector to get the Speed back. AVD is also not very dependable and very slow on windows. On mac though its much better. Also I wish some more and easily available shortcuts for boilerplate would have been nice.

### "The go to IDE for app developers"

July 8, 2022

4.0

I use android studio to develop primarily Android applications and have been using it since I started working on applications. The IDE has made my experience designing the application more efficient and the in-built simulators have been a great help when I do not have my phone on me.

Pros

The easy integration of new mobile layouts to help design the UI and the GUI for designing the layouts for the mobile view that can be customized fully.

Cons

It consumes a lot of processing power from your PC so you need a decent laptop/PC to run it.

### "Build Smart Applications with Android Studio IDE"

September 16, 2022

5.0

As a developer, sometimes I had problems with memorizing code structures but as per now android studio now solved my problem because it auto suggests for me what comes next in the code.

Pros

There is one important thing I like which is unique about this software and this is none other than autosaving changes made during development. This is such as cool feature because I don't really need to keep hitting the keyboard keys to save changes every single second and also keeps my programs safe incase of power blackouts.

Cons

It's always a challenge installing android studio on my side because it requires higher system specifications and faster internet.

### "A Versatile Integrated Development Environment (IDE)."

June 21, 2023

3.0

In conclusion, Android Studio is a better tool for Android app development. Its robust set of features, seamless integration with Android SDK, and powerful debugging capabilities make it a top choice for both beginner and experienced developers. Despite the initial setup process, the benefits it offers in terms of productivity and efficiency far outweigh any minor inconveniences. I averagely recommend Android Studio to anyone involved in Android app development.

Pros

From creating new projects to debugging and testing, the IDE provides a seamless workflow that makes app development efficient and streamlined. The user interface is clean and intuitive, allowing developers to navigate through projects and access various tools with ease. One of the standout features of Android Studio is its advanced code editor. The IDE is built on the IntelliJ IDEA platform, which brings intelligent code completion, real-time error checking, and powerful refactoring capabilities.

Cons

One area where Android Studio can be improved is its initial setup and configuration process. It requires downloading and installing various components, which can be time-consuming, especially for developers new to Android development. However, once the initial setup is complete, the IDE runs smoothly and performs exceptionally well.

### "Outil de développement d'application mobile"

November 21, 2022

4.0

Pros

### "The best IDE for Android App Development"

January 3, 2023

5.0

I really love my overall experience with Android Studio, a full-featured official IDE for android development.

Pros

I really like that they keep updating the IDE with tons of features to make developers' life easier.

Cons

When I tried Xcode for iOS app development, I felt that Android Studio lacks simplicity in terms of UI and UX. Android Studio of course has tons of features, customizations, and plugins but it has even simple UI and UX, it will be perfect, and I believe they are already working on that. Hopefully, they release it in 2023.

Reason for choosing Android Studio

Because it is officially supported by Google (the company that owns android).

Switched from

### "Herramienta perfecta para desarrollar aplicaciones para Android"

February 10, 2023

5.0

Pros

¡Me encanta Android Studio!

### "The only development platfor for Android apps"

June 7, 2023

5.0

Android Studio can be used to debug as well as develop. Unlike Apple requiring XCode, you do not NEED to use Android Studio to build your apps. Even though it is not required, it's dead helpful. Many of the games I have developed I have not needed to build using Android Studio. But it was still helpful to see what my app would look like on different devices using the built-in emulators. Also, debugging is easier in Android Studio than within the game engines with which I build the apps. While game engines highlight coding errors, Android Studio can help find incompatibilities between libraries and add ons that could be missed if a developer is only using a game engine.

Pros

I love being able to plug my own android devices into my computer to test without having to side install the app each and every time. While it still needs to compile and build, it's less of a pain to simply attach your android device to your computer and watch things run.

Cons

It's challenging to learn all the ins and outs. But you're developing software. It's not an easy process. Of course, that is exact definition of the Paradox of Technology, right?

### "Pros and cons of Android Studio"

April 14, 2022

5.0

Pros

Android Studio has a variety of functionality which makes it unique from other software and I have been using android studio for the last 1 year, I can write code very informative way and the studio gave me ample suggestions for my code, so I don't have to write much. Additionally, I built around 50+ apps using Android Studio, which I can recommend to all android developers. Moreover, I can build apps in various programming languages such as Java, Flutter, Kotlin and so on.

Cons

Android Studio has some not much good functions such as sometimes I can not get proper details of where I get errors in my code and also it requires huge memory and space to run smooth so this is the drawbacks of the Android Studio.

### " Android Studio Review"

June 13, 2022

5.0

It's an inexpensive and easy to use software. This software will definitely add business value to an organization, team, or individual that uses it to create android applications. I enjoy using It and Advice others to try it.

Pros

Security and Bugs are not a major concern when using this software because there is often updates that keep it secure and stable. I like How easy it is to integrate this tool with other IDE's like Visual Studio, Pycharm, and Netbeans. I also like the fact that Editing Code in Android studio is very easy because a developer can view their code just by clicking the Syntax view button that is located in the top-right corner of the View.

Cons

The Software is very resource heavy. I advice a developer to have at least 8GB of RAM and at least 4 cores to use this application stably. I also don't like how the application is sometimes slow to respond when its used while connected to the internet.

Cons
