It still has the most beautiful output in my opinion. But modern knowledge management tools have a better editing experience, especially with tables. The pricing is also just too high for what it offers. Pros HackMD produces very beautiful output from Markdown. I think it's one of the best. The collaborative features are very strong, particularly, I like how we can share individual documents anonymously for editing. This makes a zero-barrier way of sharing documents with people who don't necessarily want to register an account just to join in on a one-off collaborative document. Cons It uses a dual-pane markdown + preview layout. This was fine in the past, but a lot of documentation tools now use Markdown with in-place rendering -- this is so much better and saves screen real estate. And because you're still effectively writing pure Markdown, things like tables are annoying to do, granted HackMD has some nice table editing features to make this ordeal simpler, but you're still editing a text file at the end of the day.The pricing plan is also quite expensive for what it gives you. Other documentation/knowledge management tools offer much more for a lower cost.
