## What is i-Reporter?

i-Reporter is an on-site form digitization system used by Japanese companies to transfer data from a variety of sources into a single library. It accepts a wide range of input formats, including text, images, scans, and spreadsheets, and translates them into an error-free format. Back-office workers like bookkeepers, accountants, and office administrators can migrate Excel spreadsheets straight onto i-Reporter’s database. Engineers and designers can use it to label, make annotations, and measure components with schematics and drawings juxtaposed over photos and scanned images. Workers can also use its built-in QR code scanner to activate device cameras and access data online. They can export Excel, CSV, and PDF files, or link the database with existing digitization systems. They can also create reports, perform API linkage with various cloud sharing apps, and streamline core system links to support the company’s transition to paperless operations.

既存帳票をそのまま活用できるという点は他にあまりなく、ユーザーへも説明しやすい為、非常に導入しやすいツールではあります。ただ、帳票定義の負荷はある程度覚悟しておく必要はあるので管理者側はその点も考慮して導入検討されればよいと思います。

Pros

何といっても既存のExcel形式の帳票をそのまま電子化できる点。見た目上、ユーザ側は違和感なくタブレット入力に移行でき、入力もスマホで慣れ親しんだ方法で可能なので、現場作業員には好評。また、オフラインでも利用可能な点も広い工場での活用を考えると非常に重要なポイント。

Cons

やむを得ない部分ではあるが、データベースへのデータの溜まり方に癖がある点と、マニュアルが必要以上に多く、分散している為、やりたいことの調査に時間がかかる点。特にマニュアルの分散は探す側には非常にストレスが多い。
