## What is Lightspeed Alert?

Lightspeed Alert is critical to preventing self-harm, cyberbullying, and school violence. AI technology flags concerning indicators and sends alerts to designated district safety staff as well as to Lightspeed Safety Specialists. These comprise our 24/7/365 in-house team trained to identify imminent threats to student safety. Imminent threats are immediately escalated to district safety personnel and/or law enforcement, so that they may intervene before harm occurs.

Allows us to take the manual / "techie" responsibilities and make sure we are partnering with the right folks in our organization who can better respond to student needs.

Pros

Easy to setup and the vendor is open to customer feedback to find ways to improve and share best-case use scenarios.

Cons

Initial alerts generated a few too many false positives, however once we began adjusting settings and using the human review option the low-risk notifications are no longer present.

Fantastic experience with straightforward deployment.

Pros

Integrated with existing filter and IDP to create a seamless deployment for alerting to possible safety issues.
