Pros

It provides my colleagues with all the capabilities to be successful from data entry to data processing and constituent management.

Cons

I currently don't like that this product is not portable but the NXT version takes care of that aspect. Cant wait until it starts working properly and we get to use it.

I love the Raiser's Edge for constituent relationship management, prospect management, gift recording, stewardship, events - it has everything I need! Blackbaud is a great company that really helps when you have questions.

Cons

Blackbaud is a behemoth of a company, and can be quite pushy with sales.

I find that RE is very versatile and user-friendly. After using the product for 15 years in a healthcare environment, I moved to K-12 Education and have had no trouble switching gears!

Cons

Right now I feel that there should be more field integration options between Raiser's Edge and Education Edge.

Pros

I like Raisers Edge in the amount of data tables and "common-sense" storage system of information. I think that since Blackbaud has many different non-profit customers, it is a reliable and always creating better products.

Cons

I do not like citrix for hosting, because of the lag and login process.

Their help desk is unparalleled. It's powerful software and really does nearly everything you would want it to.

Cons

It's pricey and perhaps more than is necessary for smaller non-profits. I've also found that it can be intimidating for some staff to use, though it couldn't be more user friendly.

Product: ease of use and friendly interface for all department users- seamless compatibility with MS Office Vendor: great customer service and quick response

Cons

Product: cost...it is pricey so it isn't always a viable solution for smaller nonprofits. Vendor: I have no complaints thus far!

It is user friendly and easy to navigate. Global changes are pretty smooth as well making large data clean-ups nice. Love the ability to put some customization into it.

Cons

At times Blackbaud seems to have grown too large. Recommending product enhacements tends to go into a black hole.

I used Raiser's Edge for quite some time as the coordinator for a large cohort of members. It was a huge pain in the butt. The company ended up migrating away from RE simply because the software was incredibly clunky and looked like something out of the 90s, with functionality that wasn't that much better. Editing records was a pain, and conducting searches required a pretty thorough knowledge of Boolean terminology. Even then, it would sometimes take pretty esoteric knowledge to locate things properly. Batch processing took what seemed like a lifetime every time. Running reports was neither easy nor particularly useful, and the export formats were not typically the most useful (e.g. excel sheets).

It is very reliable and I kind it easy to use. I update all of our Alumni records and I find it has all the information we need to run queries and reports.

Cons

Some areas are in the program and can not be changed. For example Events, not all our Events fits into RE templates.

Cons

It can be too big for some organizations. If you are very small, it can be too expensive to jump in to right off the bat. But also worth it down the line if you have the money to invest.

Gives access with ease to anyone who needs a information from your database. Very easy to lock down sections and very intuitive!

Cons

If you have already had RE7, terminology takes some getting used to. Also, waiting for all features to open up so DB Administrators can stay in the NXT view rather than the Database View throughout the day.

Cons

For a small organization like ours, The Raiser's Edge is quite costly and the cost of modules has prevented us from using features that would be beneficial.

The latest version of the product is more salable compared to the previous versions but remember this product is ideal for the fundraising/charity domain, might need a more robust CRM integrated to this if you need advance profiling

Pros

Raiser's Edge is a solid and rigorous solution for a premises-based CRM system. Using MS SQL server, it is based on industry standard and highly reliable technology. Data on gifts, constituents, events, and other common fundraising information is linked in logical, relevant, and meaningful ways. The software reflects solid understanding of how non-profits actually operate, from language to processes.

Cons

Overall, the software is very well structured. However, it can be a challenge to load external data, although there are good third-party products. Little things, like how email addresses are stored, could be improved. Also, queries could be more flexible. We wish the volunteer module was more sophisticated too.

If Blackbaud could speed up the connection to the Database View Raiser's Edge NXT would be great!

Pros

The Web View portion of the software is amazing! You can search for constituents much more easily than you could by what is now called the "Database View". The interactions are great even for mobile.

Cons

Compared to when we were hosted on-premises the data entry through the "Database View" is slow. We have also struggled with some server issues on their hosting. We traded more functionality for lower efficiency unfortunately.

Pros

It has a very user-friendly interface. Those not technologically-savvy can figure it out pretty quickly.

Cons

The "list" function has limited options and so does not function as well as "query", and the media tab does not necessarily sync both ways, I guess. It's generally "what-you-see-is-what-you-get" and there's not a lot of options to use queries, exports, or reports from here.
