" May 20, 2025 5.0 I have been using Toggl Track to monitor how am spending my work time and the experience has been epic. Toggl has allowed me to become more productive by helping me to get more time conscious and manage my time in a better way. Toggl Track has instituted in me the discipline of properly managing my time and allows me to get my work completed in time. Pros Toggl Track uses reliable privacy and data protection features which has made it a secure tool for capturing and managing my time data. With its automated time tracking function, it has been easy to capture all my time usage data with precision. Toggl Track has a great reporting function that allows me to keep a record of all my time usage reports. It also offer analytics that allows me to extract useful insights from my time data which guide me on how to improve on my time management. It's a key tool in my freelance tech stack. Pros Toggl makes it so easy to keep track of where my time is going each week. I love that I can easily create labels to differentiate between different clients and projects, which makes it really easy to pull reports to share with clients or to help me estimate how long certain types of projects take. This is invaluable information to have as a freelancer. Cons I do wish it had better notifications in place for when I leave the timer running for too long by accident. But I have been impressed by the emails I receive if I accidentally leave it running overnight. It's an integral part of my billing process to my clients and it's pretty easy and complete to use Pros Works across many platforms (desktop, web, mobile) Cons I wish it would highlight when a time entry is not attached to a project. I use Toggl to track time spent on clients projects and bill them. When I mess up and don't attach an entry to a project, I have to work backwards and figure out if I can confidently assign an entry to the right client account. When I can't I have to loose the time and billing. 100% this is my failure to do entries correctly, but it would be awesome if there were alerts to entries from the day prior that don't have projects attached. It's great that you can track time on your desktop app, web version, and app! Pros Easy and visually appealing interface. I have tried other apps but I always come back to Toggl. As a visual person, I love Toggl Track's visual appeal and colour choice! Cons Adding the Calendar view can fill up the screen and make it less visually appealing. When joining another organisation's plan my own plan's time entries got deleted so I had to manually re-enter them. In the end I had to create a separate Chrome profile to be able to access the other organisation's plan and track my time with them. Pros How user friendly it is! I've easily been able to add clients and it's so easy to switch between tasks. I also love how the tab shows the timer time- it's a feature that I love since sometimes I will switch to a difference task but forget to update Toggl but when I see the timer running it reminds me to update the task or just get a read on how long I've been working on a task. Cons I recently hired a team member and realized I need to upgrade Toggl in order to run any reports with the team member' time. It is really expensive to be on a paid plan especially since this team member only works 5ish hours a month. Wish there were lower cost options for small teams. I also help my clients do time audits and usually this is a barrier to entry when there are a lot of team members. More importantly, it's easy to switch between tracking different projects without losing time. I love that I can go back and edit an entry. I wish there was a search and replace function, though, so that I could make entries more uniform across time. Pros I can customize all my projects, clients, who's being tracked, run reports, etc. I can view the daily time as a running log or in a calendar view, which is really helpful for identifying blocks of unallocated time. Cons It's a bit tricky understanding how to create certain types of reports, not always easy to understand the filters and how they work. Just starting and stopping time and labeling what the task was was super straightforward Cons I feel like it got a little bit more complicated when I started trying to understand the project folders and tasks within those folders. Cons It can be confusing at times to track between my google calendar and then whats getting over to the Toggl Track. The UI tries to be intuitive but sometimes doesnt work well. I take frequent breaks and get interrupted by other clients. Its so easy to switch the timer on and off or switch to another client. For monthly billing, I go back to reports and its very easy to switch clients and look back through several weeks. Pros Toggl Track was/is a life saver. I have multiple clients and switch between clients (remotely) a lot. I used to use a paper on my desk, but now i have a laptop and don't a desk. It makes it easy to total hours for billing in reports. Cons I probably don't use a lot of the features ... maybe could benefit more from the app, plus i inadvertently set up clients as projects early on. Need to fix that Review Source RB Ray B.
