" May 20, 2025 5.0 I have been using Toggl Track to monitor how am spending my work time and the experience has been epic. Toggl has allowed me to become more productive by helping me to get more time conscious and manage my time in a better way. Toggl Track has instituted in me the discipline of properly managing my time and allows me to get my work completed in time. Pros Toggl Track uses reliable privacy and data protection features which has made it a secure tool for capturing and managing my time data. With its automated time tracking function, it has been easy to capture all my time usage data with precision. Toggl Track has a great reporting function that allows me to keep a record of all my time usage reports. It also offer analytics that allows me to extract useful insights from my time data which guide me on how to improve on my time management. I haven't use all the features now, but each time I told myself: "Can I do this thing?", the answer is always yes I can do this with the tracker. It is easy to track time between all the different projects and jobs that you have. Especially when doing small contracts when you have a specific number of hours to do (like research assistant). Pros Easy to use! I like the reminder that pops up after a time. The easiness to create projects and tasks. The connectivity with the apps for phone and computer. Cons The lack of a plan just like the free version but with more seats, the jump to get more users is a bit pricey and includes many features that maybe are not that required on some cases. It would be great to just be able to pay for extra seats on the free plan. It's an integral part of my billing process to my clients and it's pretty easy and complete to use Pros Works across many platforms (desktop, web, mobile) Cons I wish it would highlight when a time entry is not attached to a project. I use Toggl to track time spent on clients projects and bill them. When I mess up and don't attach an entry to a project, I have to work backwards and figure out if I can confidently assign an entry to the right client account. When I can't I have to loose the time and billing. 100% this is my failure to do entries correctly, but it would be awesome if there were alerts to entries from the day prior that don't have projects attached. It's a key tool in my freelance tech stack. Pros Toggl makes it so easy to keep track of where my time is going each week. I love that I can easily create labels to differentiate between different clients and projects, which makes it really easy to pull reports to share with clients or to help me estimate how long certain types of projects take. This is invaluable information to have as a freelancer. Cons I do wish it had better notifications in place for when I leave the timer running for too long by accident. But I have been impressed by the emails I receive if I accidentally leave it running overnight. I can see the areas they're working on, what takes up a lot of their time, and where there are inefficiencies and room for improvement. As a user, I find it easy to use, intuitive, and with a lot of customization options. Cons Setting up for the first time took some time, especially with all the options for tracking. There is definitely a learning curve. The reporting and data could also use some improvement. I also like that they have an app. Cons The integration with Google Calendar could be better. I had to use a third-party app in order to have my tasks added on my Google Calendar and vice-versa. Analyst Market Research Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Toggl is a lifesaver for timesheets" November 28, 2024 5.0 I have to fill out detailed timesheets every week at work, and I was always scribbling notes down, losing my notes, forgetting to take notes, and generally stressing about where my time went that week. Now I keep track automatically in Toggl and I can review my week on Friday and fill out my timesheet quickly and painlessly! I did list some cons, as there is definitely some room to improve, but this little tool has greatly reduced my stress so I am happy to give it 5 stars. I've been recommending it to anyone who will listen. Pros I love the calendar feature where I can view how I spent blocks of time on each day. It is also easy to adjust after the fact (something I do a lot, as sometimes I start working on a task and forget to start the timer). Cons I often leave it running by accident, and I don't like how I have to go in and manually fix it when this happens. I think I should be able to set an automatic cutoff. It's also a little clunky, especially switching between the mini timer and the full view; but that is not a huge pain point. I wish the calendar was labelled with days of the week too, not just dates, to make it easier to see my work week at a glance.
