Cons It can be confusing at times to track between my google calendar and then whats getting over to the Toggl Track. The UI tries to be intuitive but sometimes doesnt work well. Now I keep track automatically in Toggl and I can review my week on Friday and fill out my timesheet quickly and painlessly! I did list some cons, as there is definitely some room to improve, but this little tool has greatly reduced my stress so I am happy to give it 5 stars. I've been recommending it to anyone who will listen. Pros I love the calendar feature where I can view how I spent blocks of time on each day. It is also easy to adjust after the fact (something I do a lot, as sometimes I start working on a task and forget to start the timer). Cons I often leave it running by accident, and I don't like how I have to go in and manually fix it when this happens. I think I should be able to set an automatic cutoff. It's also a little clunky, especially switching between the mini timer and the full view; but that is not a huge pain point. I wish the calendar was labelled with days of the week too, not just dates, to make it easier to see my work week at a glance. Review Source AP Anna P. We use the free version and I love how it is easy to create color-coded "clients" and add "projects" within each "client." I personally track time manually, by the five minutes, and that system works for me. I know that there is a way to use a stopwatch, which several of my colleagues prefer. The free version provides just enough for what you need if you do not require elaborate reporting. There is also a way to view basic reports of your time tracked for the week, by the client or project, to get a sense of your work overview if time tracking is essential to your job. Cons I find that Toggl Track often experiences outages and bugs. It's not a terrible amount, but it seems more often than other platforms that we use. I also wish there was an easier way to track lunch/non-billable breaks where the time doesn't show in the weekly time report and I need to manually subtract unassigned project time. Pros Toggl makes it really easy for me to log my hours and manage my time. As a freelance personal assistant, I can quickly categorise and sort all my tasks, and export my timesheets at the end of each week. I also think it is important and good that I can integrate Toggle into my Notion workspace. Pros What I particularly like about Toggle is that I can keep an eye on all my projects and times, especially thanks to the reviews and summaries. This has enabled me to build up a comprehensive database and structure over the years. Cons I wish it were a little easier to leave and view notes on individual time entries; it would be helpful in writing detailed work summaries to go with client invoices. Again, user friendly, company friendly, great HR and time tracking tool Pros Toggl Track is extremely easy to use. We use it for work but I would honestly also recommend it to a friend if tracking enables them to be more consistent and efficient in their personal lives. In terms of work use, it is so easy to use and set up different projects and tasks and it works great for monitoring how much time is spent on each project, monitoring staff overtime, and it creates really helpful reports too. Cons I would not say that there is something I actively do not like about toggl track. Maybe it is a setting thing but I would like to go back further on some weeks to review time spent on projects. It’s super easy to use, I can just start and stop the timer with a click, and if I forget, it’s simple to add or edit entries later. One thing I really like is how it breaks down my day. The reports are clear and give me a good overview of where my time is going, which has been really helpful for staying on track. That said, it’s not perfect. Sometimes the app can feel a bit clunky when switching between devices, the sync isn’t always instant. Also, I’ve noticed I occasionally get random notifications saying the app is tracking my time even when I don’t have it open. It’s like it’s trying to check and sync in the background, which can be a little frustrating. November 20, 2024 5.0 Have been using it for years and years as a freelancer, and haven't ever thought to look at anything else for time tracking. So quick to track time. Reports are easy to create and I like the "duplicate" and "favorites" features. I just skim the surface these days since I mainly have one client/project, but when my freelance life was more complicated was great to be able to switch nimbly between projects. Nice historical view of my work life, too--I can tell clients how long something took very easily. Pros Bug-free, constantly and seemlessly getting improvements that are meaningful and not cosmetic. Nice reminders when you have forgotten to click time. Very intuitive UI (has not felt the need for AI!). Strong support (not that I've needed it.). It just works! Cons Not much here; I guess maybe that it has a lot of features I don't use so can feel cluttered. I guess the mobile app's hour wheel thing is a bit hard to use and not sure it helps much. It is user-friendly, interactive, and provides important information that I use on a daily to weekly basis. Pros I find it to be an extremely user-friendly product. Our new employees require little to no training when it comes to using toggl. As an employee of our company, I find the "Reports" feature to be especially useful. It helps me see data in a snapshot. Cons This is a tough question to answer as I don't have any qualms with the product. If I had to provide answer, perhaps Toggl could create incentive for training on the new features.
