ASTER is a multiseat software for Windows 7/8/10/11 and Windows Server 2016/2019. The program allows organizing multiple work seats with a reduced budget which is important during COVID-19 time. Users can organize several workspaces by connecting several monitors, keyboards, and mice to one PC. ASTER is a zero-client software. Very easy to use and intuitive, very few bugs and issues. A great software. Pros What baffles me is how easy it is to use the software. I'm used to having problems with any software with a bad interface, bad instructions, and hard install guides, but ASTER is great for playing games and having separate desktop profiles. Best multiseat there is out there. Cons I'm experiencing difficulties switching audio devices for each desktop profile, as sometimes I hear two applications in one headphone. ASTER has improved productivity in my workspace, allowing multiple people to use the same machine at the same time. Although there are a few areas for improvement, it is an excellent investment due to the savings and efficiency it provides. Pros I liked that it allows you to split a single computer into multiple workstations easily. It's an affordable and functional solution for educational or work environments. The installation was quick, and the interface is user-friendly. It also optimizes system resource usage, helping to extend the lifespan of equipment. The school does not have state support, and currently houses approximately 330 students for whom it was decided to implement a computer center so that they can have access to technology and access to the Internet. Due to the limitations indicated above, especially in the economic aspect, we acquired 8 computers last year, which did not supply the 330 students, so we had to assign shifts of use, even so the students had to wait for days to be able to access a computer, looking for solutions we found some options with vmware and other software that virtualized the computers, but they needed more hardware resources, making our computers too slow and unusable. Looking for more solutions, we found ASTER V7, which promised to generate more computer stations by only adding peripherals such as monitors, keyboard and mouse, being able to provide us with up to 6 workstations for each computer. The truth is that we were very hesitant to think that it would be true since we had tried several software programs before without any results. The distrust was even greater since in Peru we speak Spanish, and the distance, but we still decided to try this solution, and boy, did it surprise us a lot, it is easy to install and configure and compatible with Windows 11, which is the version we currently use. In addition, the support provided by Aster V7 is in various languages ​​such as Portuguese, English, Russian, and Spanish, and they are very attentive and precise in the queries made to them via WhatsApp or email Aster V7 has become a great ally, since the license cost is much lower than other virtualization software, and it allows you to save internet bandwidth as well as money in the purchase of computer equipment, you only have to add monitors, keyboards and mouse for each additional workstation. We currently converted our 8 computers into 32 workstations for our students. They are not yet 100% supplied, but we had a 50% improvement in access for our students. We are planning to implement another 32 workstations by 2025. Aster V7 is totally recommended for use by educational institutions. We currently use Aster V7 daily because it is part of our students' daily teaching classes, developing optimally and also allowing savings in electricity consumption Cons Some things to improve are the response time for queries or doubts, they take approximately one day, although I think it is due to the time zone. In my experience, I communicate from Peru in South America. Prices are a bit high for low-income countries and there are not many discounts for educational institutions. It just works. You can turn it off with a click of a button (kids bedtime!), swap hardware around with drag and drop as well as some networking features like proxy settings that I haven't personally used. The software is very easy to use and has recently been updated with a very clean, modern looking interface that looks really good. I had it on windows 10 before upgrading to windows 11 and was able to get an updated version of the software and again, the software carried on working flawlessly on the brand new operating system...Love it! Pros I initially found out about this software when I was trying to find a way to play Fortnite with my son having only one PC. Using this software I didn't have to buy any hardware. I had a spare wireless keyboard and mouse and connected the TV to the PC (bluetooth also works). The TV is 120hz and the Monitor is 240hz @ 1080p medium settings Fortnite works flawlessly. Sometimes we play different games at the same time or sometimes I do some work while he is gaming on the TV. It was very easy to set up and was running in minutes. I find it amazing how much more you can get out of one PC using this software. Cons For what I use Aster for, I have had no issues. Install, plug in the peripherals for each user, assign it, and you are good to go. - Great for beginners who wanted to setup a PC that can accommodate multiple users at home without buying a separate PC. - Works well with single GPU configurations like mine (2 users sharing a single GPU). Cons \- Windows Snipping Tool appears to be not working, or if it is, it is not consistently working (Windows 11). - The built-in screen recorder and sidebar menu for AMD Adrenalin software do not always work when accessed during gameplay. - Price.
