It also comes with handyman repairs that are especially helpful for estimating repairs. I estimate in multiple states and appreciate that the software will allow me to update labor rates based on location. I like that I can enter new parts/services if they are not already in the system. I can also edit the way the estimate is presented and use the company logo. Cons I think the user interface as it related to other items aside from estimating can be improved. They are not as intuitive. Also, I wish there were more repair items as I deal more with repairs than new builds. Review Source JM Joel M. Used the software for: ### "Have used for about a year" February 27, 2017 4.0 This software is the best I've found for my home remodeling business. The price is fair for what it does. I don't use the pre-populated labor prices. I think every business applies a price they think is right. There are some things you don't have the ability to edit however. For example, the font of text isn't adjustable. Also, the title of the proposal isn't adjustable. Clear estimates give you better understanding of estimates and generates one at simple couple of clicks. A quick customized estimate is the only thing that a small contractor would need. This is neat and reliable. Would recommend to all estimators Cons Once a labour portion is added to your master database it uses it for all of the project created from that time on wards. Perhaps I am not getting it right, or may be its my limitations to use it, but if different labour rates for different projects in specific town could be added, it would be much helpful. Pros It is somewhat easy to use after you have been trained, it gives you the ability to do your job costing before a job is started. You can keep customer database as well as pricing information very easily. Cons One of the cons is that they charged 59 for every user, they should have a group rate! Pros The way you can see if your pricing is competitive as it gives your local market info pertaining to labor and correct amount of time required, etc. Gives it for anything I might encounter. I was able to get up and running in minutes. But still finding new features that are useful. Cost is worth it. I recommend it highly , once you set up your templates you are good to go. The presentation of the proposal is also very good. There are a lot of good features. Pricing gets updated every few months that goes a long way for feeling confident about your proposal. For the Re-modeler it a best choice. Pros Speed of presentation and putting together bids. We do home remodeling and repair estimates that they use to price and figure out costs on their projects. Clear Estimates covers a vast majority of the home remodeling estimating industry with acurate and reliable published costs. The software also makes it easy for you to add your own figures in any format or in any catagory. One of my favorite components of Clear Estimates which is crucial for my business is that you can adjust your material and labor costs to any part of the country quickly and easily. The other software was a NIGHTMARE and you have to pay additional fees just to understand it. Clear Estimates seemed to have ease of use and great customer service. The guy you speak with is VERY nice and understanding of your needs. The only downfall is that it does not have Commercial bidding prices. If it did, I would use it for that as well. Try it yourself for his initial fee of I think $5.00. The first time I tried it out, I canceled it before the end of the initial promo and had absolutely no trouble getting my refund. Some integration could use a boost, and it would be nice to be able to import product catalogues. The customer service is responsive but web based. Sometimes a phone number would be nice to call. With that being said I never waited more than overnight for an answer, they are pretty quick. Use this software to reduce the amount of estimating errors and standardize your processes. It is geared more to the north as we here in Miami have far more use for ac rather than the 50 listings for heating. Just and example. I like the format but still trying to tweak things have developed work arounds as required. Pros it is pretty simple to manipulate and in excel i can set it up the way i want. It works for me and what i do. Cons Don't care for the category set up used to ASI format for divisions. Don't like tile and stone work in 2 different categories same with drywall etc. Too much wall paper not enough paint categories would like more commercial things such as acoustic ceilings.
