Pros

Salesforce marketing tool is best in the market as they are the leaders. They have best feature for email marketing, creating automation etc

Cons

It's is very costly as compared to others I the market. Customer support sometimes becomes a challenge as they give best support to their premium customers for which they charge extra.

Pros

Getting on the SF cloud can be a wonderful thing and a great way to create value for your clients. The ecosystem is really powerful and can be a great way to add sales.

Cons

Salesforce requires its own language to develop. This is expensive to find people who can do the work. Also moving through the security process is challenging.

Being feature rich has some downsides and one of that is having all those features available in your UI which makes it confusing at times.

Honestly you almost need to take a course to learn how to use their software, because there is so much to it. Also I wish their UI didn't look so old school.

It is very labor intensive to get it going and the cost of having the company help your team is very high.

I would recommend any company seeking a marketing solution check this one out and consider not only where the company is now with marketing, but where their company would like to be in the next year and 5-10 years and base decisions on that. Upfront costs for these lesser solutions may be appealing at first, but it doesn't take long to realize the short comings of such applications and that the money could have been spent more wisely on something as polished and robust as the Salesforce Marketing Cloud solution.

Pros

Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a very robust marketing system that solves all manner of marketing needs from the simple mailings to complex customer journeys and marketing campaigns.

Cons

The biggest negative I have with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is the price. Companies often feel their marketing needs are not to the level that this application can provide and struggle to justify the cost. Unfortunately, this causes companies to go with a lesser solution because upfront costs appear to be less, even though in the long run they end up costing more.

Pros

We have a Roofing company and it really suits our business model and increases our productivity. We have all the info we need in sales to manage our clients, and there are so many other aspects to the software we can roll out over time. The Trail head training is great.

Cons

There is so much functionality, some more basis set up examples would have been helpful, but we were able to find everything we needed

Pros

Community Cloud is a nice edition for institutions where external users needed access to data. Higher ed, non profit, etc. Salesforce is powerful and the Community Cloud enables companies to extend the power to external parties.

Cons

Well... like other Salesforce tools & products, the Community Cloud needs a facelift. Heavy coding and customization or tools from Appexchange like Skuid could be leveraged to customize without coding.

Salesforce MC allows you to create one to one experiences. The MC allows a marketer to give a unique experience to each customer. For instance, the female, twenty-something customer will receive a different message than the 40 year old male who likes sports. This allows for a higher conversion. Salesforce MC allows you to create marketing journeys that are unique to each individual to further the buying process and foster the customer relationship.

When you send hundreds of thousands of emails, it seems you're destined to be tied into a system like this. It's very powerful, but it's extremely complex. Even for an experienced email developer, it takes awhile to get used to building triggers and actually sending emails. The tools keep improving somewhat, but they're still very cumbersome. I wish they would spend more time making things easier and lighter weight instead of complex and bloated.

Pros

Very powerful. Good support.

Cons

Extremely expensive and complicated.

Pros

Really enjoyed this system for sharing training, submitting documents in out training teams and for communication in groups much like Twitter!

Cons

I wouldn't say this is a Salesforce issue, but the company I was with when we used it. We didn't use it to its capacity and the company didn't train the employees on it enough or market it enough. I felt like it was an amazing tool that wasn't be utilized enough.

From always using MS Dynamics Marketing I prefer the layout and interface, which is likely because I am use to using the function.
