### "Five Stars and a Thumbs Up!"

February 13, 2026

5.0

I recommend Salesforce to anyone. There's also the knowledge base where I can find the information I need for the customers.

Pros

What I like most about Salesforce is how the customer's information populates. I can see all their information.

Cons

Sometimes the costumers profile don't populate so we have create a profile for them. This usually doesn't happen.

### "A here-to-stay CRM app requiring knowledgeable staff to fully appreciate ppreciate "

June 22, 2025

4.0

I'd been using HubSpot for a while and had been eyeing Salesforce as an alternative. To be honest, I feel like they are quite on par, and as a small business owner you can't really go wrong with either. Salesforce CRM is definitely adequate. Especially the Marketing Cloud for managing email campaigns on customers, which makes things organised and easy to track at a glance and go through analytics. If you were managing things on your own like myself, Salesforce might be too sophisticated for its own good as a start, but something you can start looking into if you were looking to scale or to sell to various markets.

Pros

It is a sophisticated CRM software, and great for managing customer database and workflows, but more feared towards larger enterprises I feel, and not exactly cost-effective for small business owners.

Cons

The steep fee for various subscription tiers, the initial details up was lengthy to set up and I had to really wrap my head around it, felt that it is quite advanced.

Cost comparisons make this seem viable, I would actually goback to HubSpot for the interface which I liked better

### "A Powerful (Albeit Flawed) Tool for the Enterprise"

April 20, 2026

3.0

Marketing Cloud is much more than an email management platform. It is capable of things that were way beyond the scope of my organization's needs. And it was just too expensive to justify renewing our contract when we only used a quarter of its functionality. Larger orgs and multi-brand enterprises are definitely the target market for this tool, not small nonprofits like my employer.

Pros

Salesforce Marketing Cloud is the most powerful marketing automation platform I've used in my ten year career. Its send speed is unmatched, even on multi-step automations across different channels.

Cons

The user interface is pretty awful. It looks like five or six different tools smashed together with one unifying menu bar (because that is what it is). This makes it hard to learn and greatly hampers ease of use for non-technical employees. The syncing with Salesforce Sales Cloud also leaves a lot to be desired. It does a good job of ingesting CRM data, but doesn't round-trip any of the changes made within SFMC to the CRM (i.e. updated contact info).

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Salesforce Marketing Cloud

We chose Marketing Cloud because of its direct integration with Salesforce CRM, but its complicated interface and high cost led us to switch back to MailChimp.

### "App for clean business!"

I love sales force! To me it has completely eliminated excel spreadsheets. I now 100% keep up with my business in salesforce only!

Pros

As a sales agent sales force provides me a place to easily keep up with my book of business while providing me the tools to retain and grow my business!

Cons

Sales force does great at reminders but I would love to see AI/AI assisted programs being integrated.

### "Super expensive enterprise software but at least feels like abandoned by the dev team."

October 26, 2024

3.0

Literally everything felt ancient and abandoned. It was clunky like 2003 have just called and ask to return it back.

Pros

Being able to set up simple automation rules.

Cons

Engagement Programs. You weren't able to track replies, it didn't allow setting up an email that will be able to receive replies. The email creator was super old-fashioned comparing to way cheaper alternatives where you can easily build emails using drag-n-drop sections.

We wanted a CRM that will have leads as a separate being (comparing to HubSpot), so we bought Marketing Cloud in a bulk with the Sales Cloud as the main value was supposed to be the synergy between the systems.

### "Marketing Cloud and Salesforce are a powerful combination."

April 22, 2026

We have had a very positive experience with Marketing Cloud. It is a powerful tool, especially when combined with Salesforce.

Pros

Marketing Cloud integrates well with Salesforce. We schedule and automate communications, deriving the audience from live Salesforce data.

Cons

There is a significant learning curve with Marketing Cloud. The Marketing Cloud user interface seems disjointed.

### "Not bad- would recommend"

April 21, 2026

3.0

Overall, Salesforce Marketing Cloud has been a mixed but workable experience — it delivers strong email management and template capabilities with a polished user interface, but the complexity, occasional performance hiccups, and variable customer support mean it takes time and commitment to get real value out of it.

Pros

The platform's email management and template builder are robust, the user interface is generally well-organized, and its integration with the broader Salesforce ecosystem makes it a powerful choice for managing large-scale campaigns and customer data in one place.

Cons

The steep learning curve makes ease of use a challenge for new users, performance and speed can lag during heavy campaigns, customer support response times are inconsistent, and the overall value for money feels high unless you're leveraging the full suite of features.

### "Marketing Cloud - The best for Sophisticated Email Marketers"

June 8, 2024

4.0

I both love and hate it. I love most of the elements of this product but it can definitely stump me sometimes.

Pros

This product can do it all. If you have complex data, segmentation and campaign needs, this is likely the product for you. I love how many options it provides and how I can use Trailhead to learn.

Cons

It's not a drag and drop type of product. While Content Builder is useful for the less technically inclined and Journey Builder is relatively user friendly, in general, you need to know a decent amount of coding languages. SQL is particularly useful, as is Ampscript. It takes a while to really learn this product and its best to use a third party to set it up for you.

### "A huge waste of time"

April 24, 2020

2.0

Working with the support team is extremely painful. We spent hours over multiple weeks showing them our issues over video. Their premium support resources often couldn't figure out how to resolve our issues. It felt like they were just as fed up with this crap tool as we are. Although they didn't say it, I think one of our key employees quit over the frustration of dealing with marketing cloud.

Pros

I don't like anything about this software.

Cons

The integration with Salesforce is WAY oversold in the marketing materials. Moving data back and forth between the two products is extremely finicky and prone to breaking. Expect lots of duplication of data and lists that will invariably be out of sync. Managing email opt out lists with two systems of record from the same company is a CAN-SPAM nightmare. The integration's administrative tools can't be accessed in lightning. The customer facing unsubscribe and profile management pages look like shit and can't be branded or customized. They are so old, they still provide customers a warning about using HTML emails with AOL. Your Salesforce users will see email sends and interactions in contact records for some but not all emails sent via marketing cloud. If you try to send to a campaign or report from Salesforce, email personalization won't work. Same thing for transactional emails. You will have to send every single piece of personalization data in the API call to marketing cloud, because MC won't be able to find it on its own, even though it has a list of all these attributes and is supposedly syncing with Salesforce. There is single sign on, but only by request, and provisioning of accounts is not supported. Journeys will break the minute you make the slightest change to them. Trying to split journeys based on Salesforce attributes often just doesn't work. Because it's Salesforce, anything you would actually want to do with this software comes at an additional cost.

Reason for choosing Salesforce Marketing Cloud

We chose MC over other tools because we were sold a native, deep integration with Salesforce. What we received was hacked together and barely functional. We can't wait to switch to another platform, even though it will result in a lot of rework on our end.

Saleforce Marketing Cloud is a marketing automation leader in the market. One best thing about salesforce marketing cloud is that it has all features of automating all your marketing campaigns for Email, SMS, Direct mail and push notification.

Pros

My overall experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is really great, because it is user friendly and easy to use marketing automation platform available in the market and with the help of it I am able to create Email campaigns, SMS campaigns, Direct mail campaigns and push notification campaigns. We also have purchased its Email studio, SMS studio and Push studio license.

Cons

I do not have any dislike for this platform.

### "Salesforce experience cloud review"

March 13, 2023

5.0

I have noticed it is much easier to contact a long list of patients per day and speeds us the process by making the call data more organized.

Pros

I thought Salesforce to be very user friendly and easily navigable. The home page is very clear as to which tabs pertain to what. My favorite feature is being able to change the tab names into the specific criteria I need for example one of them is "Patients" and another is "Call Interactions," this way you can build your own easily navigable website.

Cons

There are no features I disliked about Salesforce Experience Cloud

### "Everything broke all the time and it had a significant negative impact on revenue"

February 4, 2022

1.0

Never have I been so frustrated and upset with a platform as I have with SFMC. I run the marketing department for a small e-commerce company and SFMC was the cause of so many headaches. We encountered problem after problem with them (many noted in the "cons" section of this review") and our account manager / customer support was very frequently unable to successfully troubleshoot the issue. My small team had to spend hundreds of hours troubleshooting significant, bottom-line impacting issues caused by the platform with little to no help from Salesforce. At one point, we couldn't send any emails out of the platform for a number of weeks (the platform showed a 0% delivered rate), which, as an e-commerce company, drastically impacted sales and reduced our revenue. We also can't set up basic journeys in the platform, like abandoned carts, browse abandonments, win-back campaigns, post-purchase campaigns, or birthday/anniversary campaigns, meaning our email marketing program relies solely on a stead push of one-off marketing messages. Unless you have a large IT team with plenty of bandwidth to implement Salesforce and continually troubleshoot it, look elsewhere. SFMC is not a fit product to be on the market

Pros

Robust data features, but difficult to deploy without technical resource

Cons

\- Transactional emails randomly turned off for months - error on SFMCs part caused high SPAM rating on our account, so very few emails on our list were receiving messages - no conversion tracking - very little integration with company or Google analytics - implementation was a nightmare and was never completed - DMARC/DKIM/SPF never set up - UX/UI difficult to use - support was terrible and couldn't even help us set up an abandoned cart email

### "Worked for SFMC and used the platform daily for 2 years (Agency side, in Services)"

May 2, 2018

4.0

After moving off of SFMC, I was definitely hurting for the robust nature of personalization and segmentation that was offered through the proprietary Ampscript language, and the full SQL editor to run queries on data extensions. Although I think that it could have been built in a smarter way to execute processing of queries faster, and have a better UX/UI, the power that's available to a slightly more tech savvy marketer is unmatched.

Pros

The first email platform I worked on was SFMC. Definitely the strongest features of the platform were the ability to customize so much through the use of Ampscript functions, content areas, and data extensions, as well as the ability to segment and cohort large amounts of user data with the power of having a full on SQL editor to do so.

Cons

The platform was hacked together on the backend, and whoever headed up product did not do a good job of making the UX/UI cohesive. Extremely slow to execute queries on large data sets, and until they moved it into Automation Studio, there was no way to know when your query finished running, or what the error was if it ran into one. On the UX/UI side, who the heck made the decision that Emails and Data Extensions could be shared across Business Units, but User-Initiated Sends/Queries/Scripts, etc can't? It's not consistent, random items can be shared, while others can't and must be manually copied over to the other Business Unit.

Management of intractions and control of services to clients, a good marketing tool

Pros

What I like most about this tool is its ease of implementation, this being a good tool to get to know the specific customer we are referring to, it is a system that stores and compiles information to better reach customers and maintain more direct with them

Cons

I have no criticism or anything negative to contribute because for the functions it has it is one of the most efficient in this type of industry, it is also quite easy to understand and add to business tools
