Pros

We use community cloud to provide information and self-services to our external customers. The tool is very flexible and we are able to create templates for different customer types which allows us to tailor their user interface. With community cloud, the customers are able to login to one application to conduct business with our company. It is also integrated with the other salesforce products which enables all customer data to be stored in salesforce and shared across multiple applications.

Cons

The username must be formatted as an email. Some of our customers do not have business email addresses. Also, if our customer has implemented salesforce internally or has a salesforce id already with another vendor, they cannot use the same email as their username. When a user attempts to create a username, we have no way of knowing if they already have a salesforce id in another system so we must assume if the username meets all of our criteria and the creation fails that they must have another salesforce id with that username.

I can say it is an expensive product. A lot of other products, proposed by the small startup at lesser cost are available and that is what we switched to over the years.

Pros

Multiple data storage were integrated into one. This made it easy to filter and use data effectively.

Cons

This tool is expensive, so anything extra comes at a huge cost if funding is reduced. Also the data query language does not supported many basic functionalities which makes the job harder

Pros

It's built to handle large-scale email communications and does its job very well. You have the ability to create engaging customer journeys and can make a great impact with your consumers. Customer support has been super helpful. I've engaged support via phone, email, and Chatter, and it's always top-notch. Our organization just switched to using Content Builder within Marketing Cloud, and it is much easier to build emails without having to rely on HTML coding.

Cons

There aren't a lot (any?) resources out there for learning how to use Marketing Cloud, so I had to self-teach with my coworkers. This could be difficult for people who have to use this software but aren't technically inclined. Not all pending sends will list themselves under "Pending Sends," so that has caused some issues with accidentally sending the same email to the same list more than once. Seems like there are a few features like that that could definitely be improved.

Salesforce is the first application that we have employed as a CRM, which has addressed our need for a very flexible solution, while maintaining the ease of use and affordability of deployment and maintenance.

Pros

The pros that come inherently, with Salesforce, number far in excess of the amount of reading, anyone wants to give some review from the typical CEO. Therefor I will provide a direct, concise, list of the benefits we attained at Impetus Global Technology when we adopted this software. \* Effective Cost \* Time-Saving Ability \* Support \* Ease of Use and Training Availability \* Extensible by Nature \* Incentives to Sales Employees

Cons

Honestly, the task of espousing a list of Cons, towards this business tool has proven quite the challenging endeavor. Not only am I CEO, but also I hold the position of Director of Software Development. Speaking now as a developer, I would encourage introducing more direct compatibility with Visual Studio and/or the JetBrains stack. By the previous statement, I mostly refer to some sort of Extension or Framework that can be utilized through something such as a Xamarin or WPF application to source business data. From the view of an Executive, I cannot honestly provide any criticism that would merit the publishing of a review.

This is a very serviceable software and will serve it's purpose. It can do a lot, so depending of the size of your organization it might be too much for the cost.

Pros

In addition to being able to import a distribution list, this product integrated with our CRM (Recruit) so we were able to send to segregated lists and it showed what emails were sent in Recruit. This made it easier for our reps to see when correspondence went out to their pipelines. It is rather simple to create and distribute emails.

Cons

Some of the functionality was a bit wonky, and emails viewed differently between various email clients. Line spacing was the biggest thing that varied quite a bit. Everything would look great in SFMC, but when an email was received in Outlook, Mac Mail, or Gmail, all three would display it just a bit differently. Not sure who's problem this is. It also doesn't embed video either. The workaround is to create a screenshot as a graphic, then add a link to it.

Rather than using a standard marketing automation tool, we switched to Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Besides its powerful automation feature, it is also tightly integrated with Salesforce CRM. Sending personalized marketing campaigns is breeze with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Cons

To segment the data, Working knowledge of SQL is required. Integration of GTM and API's is heavily reliant on tech team.

Pros

Originally we purchased a solution from a boutique third party vendor but ended up requiring a fair amount of custom development in order to get a workable solution. We moved to Marketing Cloud after a fair amount of pain. The integration was immediate and we were able to quickly move most of our marketing campaigns onto Marketing Cloud. The primary use case is to solicit leads from our landing page and setup the appropriate objects in SFDC. The sales team was very accommodating when it comes to working with our budget and providing initial support and configuration.

Cons

Our Marketing Cloud has a restriction on the number of contacts that can be in our mailable database. We constantly get reminders to either remove contacts or upgrading to a higher limit plan. We ran into an issue as one feature required access to specific Google APIs. We submitted a feature request but it's been months and they only provided a workaround that involved developer resources on our end.

I love Journey Builder and its native connections to Salesforce. Dynamic capabilities are extremely robust.

Cons

Requires a full time platform expert, or a team of experts, to scratch the surface of SFMC's features. Tech support very frustrating, requires escalation on most tickets.

Costly Time-intensive Little training unless purchased separately. It can be very overwhelming at first learning Marketing Cloud as a whole. Back-end can be complex; expensive for small scale businesses; can be time-consuming to learn to use

As I said, this produces great reports for managers. And managment is the deparmtnet that ends up making purchases of solutions like this. Without ever consulting the actual in-the-trenches sales team. So they buy it for their needs butn not for the needs of their sales reps. Consequently, the number of meetings increases trying to fiuge re out why sales have dropeed and outbound calls have dropped, etc. And this takes motre time away from active selling. Salesforce creates a downward spirtal in sales.

Pros

It's better than using 3 x 5 index cards

Cons

Too many boxes to be checked on every single contact attempt that is made. Difficult to use. Extremely slow for a sales rep trying to mak any number of calls. I used to use GOLDMINE and made twice the number of calls daily than I could when I had to use SaleForce. These are very true numbers. easily made 70 - 100 calls a day with Goldmaine. Only able to make about 30-35 tops using Sales Force.

Support was unable to address product gaps, product was cumbersome and never well received by any of our team, and constantly performed slowly.

Pros

Can't say I particularly liked anything about Salesforce marketing cloud other than the fact it somewhat integrates with an existing Salesforce instance.

Cons

Unfortunately, the product is a solution that really only makes sense if you have an existing dependency on Salesforce. In terms of using marketing cloud for marketing communication, or any kind of communication, it really falls short. The product is very complicated when compared to competitors that cost less and offer more seamless functionality. We ended up switching to another product because the product had a huge learning curve and required work around to perform pretty basic tasks. There are 4-6 steps to accomplish what other products do in half the steps.

Salesforce is hands-down the best CRM out there. I have worked with it in both small business and large entity capacities and it works perfectly for both.

Pros

I think the best part about it is its ability to simply replace many applications because it can function in place of them. Data, Knowledge, Contacts, Accounts, automated email campaigns, social media, Support tickets, scheduling reporting - all in one. The company I work for now has separate applications for all of these and only the sales team uses Salesforce. It feels like such a waste.

Cons

The only con I have perceived is how quickly SFDC moves forward with new features - and the amount of focus they put on things they are rolling out. Sometimes, I think the energy would be better spent improving the current features.

Pros

Salesforce Marketing Cloud enables executing large scale campaigns in no time. It is easy to setup automated processes for email marketing. It can be used in many ways to create personalized campaigns for customers.

Cons

To be honest I did not find any disadvantages besides some initial struggles when configuring the campaigns - I believe this is the case with most of the software tools that provide so many features.

Pros

When you connect all the different pieces of Salesforce software that are applicable to your organization, the results are astonishing. Having used other CRM and Marketing Softwares and having to integrate the two was far more difficult than using the various aspects of Salesforce. It is fantastic to have it all in once place. It connects easily to Google Suite apps and is overall easy to use for the technically inclined and after a little training your less technically inclined employees will have no problem with it.

Cons

For those that are not technically inclined, the learning curve can be difficult. The integration of a large business application can be extremely lucrative, however the kick starting period can be a turn off. For small businesses that have multiple solutions to the problems that Salesforce can solve, the transition period can be difficult to cope with.
