My overall experience with NEOGOV has been fantastic! The platform is incredibly user-friendly and has streamlined so many aspects of the recruitment and hiring process. From posting jobs to tracking applicants and onboarding new hires, everything is centralized and intuitive. It truly makes life easier—not just for me as a recruiter, but also for our hiring managers and candidates. NEOGOV has significantly improved our efficiency, reduced manual work, and helped us provide a smoother, more professional experience across the board. I’m very satisfied!

Pros

As a recruiter, NEOGOV's genuine commitment to public sector innovation and its clear mission to make government hiring more efficient, transparent, and equitable. Cons

What I liked least about NEOGOV was the delayed rollout of Insight updates. As a recruiter, it’s crucial to have timely access to system enhancements and tools that streamline our workflow and improve the candidate experience. When updates were rolled out in piecemeal, it created inefficiencies and confusion not just for our team, but for hiring managers as well. A more unified, all-at-once approach to updates would have made a significant difference in maintaining momentum and ensuring consistency across the recruitment process.

Pros

I like the ease of converting simple and complex forms and processes from paper and manual processes to digital and automated processes. It is much easier to find files and information, and customer support is always wonderful.

Cons

Sometimes, it takes a long time to find a solution if issues arise. Responses from customer support can be slow, especially if the issue is very complex. It would help to receive regular updates even if no progress has been made. So that we don’t feel forgotten in the caseloads.

NEOGOV has been great to work with. We love that they are so receptive on feedback. We know not all changes are made overnight but always appreciate feeling heard and thoughts are taken to development for consideration.

Pros

Perform has assisted in evaluation completion. The ease of use and modern look assists supervisors. Access to the mobile app and journal entries has significantly increased evaluation submission. We look forward to the future enhancements and writing assistance!

Cons

I would love if there was more reporting in Perform and customized dashboards for supervisors upon login. On the supervisor end they have to click around to access statuses of current evaluations opposed to having a quick dashboard upon login. It is easy from an admin level to access but something more user friendly for supervisors I think would engage them even more.

It’s great!! Overall, NEOGOV is reliable and efficient, though reporting could be smoother and more intuitive.

Pros

As someone who values streamlined systems and accountability, NEOGOV has been a mixed bag. I appreciate how it centralizes hiring, onboarding, and performance tracking, especially for public sector workflows, but it’s not always intuitive. The applicant tracking is solid, and onboarding cuts down on paperwork, which is a win. That said, reporting features feel clunky. Support is responsive, but resolution times vary. It’s a good tool for compliance and organization, but I’d love to see improvements in user experience and flexibility across modules.

Cons

What I like least about NEOGOV is the reporting functionality—it’s clunky and unintuitive. For a system that handles so much data, the reporting tools feel outdated and rigid. Customizing reports takes more steps than it should, and pulling the right metrics often requires workarounds or manual exports. It slows down decision-making and adds friction to processes that should be seamless. I need reporting that’s flexible, visual, and easy to filter, not something that feels like I’m wrestling with a spreadsheet from 2005.

Very confident to use .streamlined hiring process, efficient , transparent, and user friendly interface. Most importantly ensure fair and standardized hiring process.

Pros

It’s very well explained and guided to reach the forms or tasks we need . I love that it connects recruiting, onboarding performance evaluations and training in one system.

Cons

The system has a little learning curve for new users , especially when it comes to reporting until you learn how to use it and you are confident using it.

I think NEOGOV could be an exceptional tool for my organization if we can adopt a culture of improving efficiencies, reducing paper waste, and utilization of the application. We also have to focus on employee development, and not just think of it as process tools.

Pros

Integration of products. Ability to improve efficiencies and reduce paper waste. Ability to individualize what products we need.

Cons

UAT data is only updated once a year. Difficulty to make bulk updates to data. Outdated training materials. Short availability to implementation manager after training. We need the support the most after the training is done.

I like the product much better than others that we are currently using or have used in the past. Currently we also use Munis which does not handle the capacity of functions that we need at this time.

Pros

I use onboard a significant amount. What I enjoy is the flexibility and functionality of the product. It cuts down on my time and allows me to worker smarter, not harder.

Cons

I have had some trouble with Bulk changes in Perform lately. I can’t seem to narrow down what is causing the issue.

Attract is my new favorite. I love them all and use insight more than the rest of the products along with Onboard.

Cons

The lack of ability to make some things customizable in Perform. It would be nicer for supervisors to have more customizable features.

Pros

The support provided by the entire NeoGov team has been greatly appreciated often going above and beyond during challenging transitions within the department.

Cons

The complexity of navigating how to use the products. I felt there should be simplified SOP’s that walk you through each step within the process. University live is a great resource, however my schedule is demanding and I’m not able to commit to specific times and would like the ability to watch and learn when it’s convenient for me.

Pros

The functionality is really great and user friendly. The ease of being able to do most things digitally.

Cons

Trainings are not very extensive. Can be outdated. Not a lot related to professional development. Archive without notice.

Pros

The NEOGOV suite of products is so expansive that there is a use for everything. As budgets are constrained, it is easier to add technology to make our work more efficient.

Cons

Honestly nothing. The products, the support, everything is great. They are always very responsive to any questions and have product updates to support our work environment and changes.

The sales, implementation team and customer service are all great. Everyone is so easy to work with and seams to understand when things don’t work exactly how we want them to. :-)

Pros

Seamless, very user friendly. It saves so much time with our processes. Still learning newly implemented modules but I hope to implement more in the future.

Cons

There isn’t much that I don’t like. I know sometimes the look or certain features are changed that I feel were not broken but I am open to change.

You can’t copy templates and notifications from other agencies, like you can with e-Forms. This would have greatly assisted me with implementing NeoGov at my new employer.

The team has been incredibly supportive and kind—we haven’t had a single IC that we didn’t enjoy working with.

Pros

I think they are moving in the right direction with all their products. They strive to be a leader in the industry, serving those who serve the people. I appreciate that you don’t need multiple different programs to accomplish your goals—you can do it all through NeoGov. They also listen to user feedback and implement ideas to make the system easier and more accommodating.

Cons

I would appreciate more streamlined communication that makes it easier to stay informed and learn about everything your program offers. We joined after experiencing significant turnover within our organization, and as a result, we were not fully aware of the resources available to us or the full scope of what the program could provide.

It’s my 3rd year using NeoGov and each year I’ve learned a little for each module (corehr, onboard, eForms, learn, and perform). I love how organized the modules are but I do think it’s hard to remember where some things live. For example, our employees are always confused on how to find their documents or where to find our portals.

Pros

I love the look of NeoGov and how it is mostly user friendly. I appreciate the community and overall “spark” that NeoGov ignites in our work.

Cons

There is a lot more behind the scenes than I initially thought. I realize that I will be continuously learning how to improve our processes.

Pros

It is streamlining our recruiting process. We are still fairly new to Insight, but are learning new and innovative ways to use it.

Cons

The Learn platform. It is not user friendly and we struggle with trainings being phased out and not receiving notification when that happens. We usually end up hearing from employees because they cannot access their compliance training.

Great and good customer service to support the products within NEOGOV. If there are any questions, they are helpful. I witless like to see some more customizable options, especially with eForms and recruitment options for executive level positions.

Pros

Onboard is my favorite product due to being able to create a consistent onboarding process and forms to include teaining for all new employees or specific groups of employees based on the specific checklist.

Cons

Limitations of eForms with routing forms to people to sign and extra steps that seem duplicative on Perform.

Sometimes it’s the best thing ever, and sometimes we hit a road bump. All of which are to be expected.

Pros

The conferences are extremely helpful. I learned more in three days than I do in weeks or even months.

Cons

We aren’t able to customize the views as much as I would like. Specifically an HRIS, we should be able to rename the fields and should not have to fill in or see fields that do not apply to our industry.

Pros

Eform’s EDMS that pulls all forms Fran ON, Insight, PE, eLearning, and eforms is fantastic. If it could pull additional forms from insight like Personnel Action Form and e-offers.

Cons

If NeoGov would provide more one-on-one training like speed consulting as part of their customer service.

⸻ Overall, my experience with Learn and Perform has been very positive. Both platforms are user-friendly and easy to navigate, which allowed me to get up to speed quickly in my new role. I’ve been able to set up classes, search for information, and complete tasks with ease. The customer service support has also been excellent and responsive. I’d love to see even more courses added to the catalog and updated content to continue enhancing the learning experience.

Pros

I use Learn daily and have found it to be very user-friendly. Although I’ve been using it for less than a year, the intuitive system navigation has allowed me to hit the ground running in my new role. Setting up classes and conducting searches has been seamless. I also use Perform and have had a similarly smooth experience. Additionally, I really appreciate the 800 customer service support it’s been incredibly helpful

Cons

I would love to see more courses added to the catalog along with regularly updated content to keep learning fresh and relevant.

I overall love Neogov. Neogov ha allowed us the opportunity to make our lives better and to broaden our horizons not only with reaching passive candidates and allowing for a small HR team to handle a large pool of candidates. We couldn’t possibly do this without the support and tools from Neogov.

Neogov offers state of the art technology and services for multiple platforms meeting the needs of a wide range of users.

The platform changes frequently and this is not a bad thing it takes time for the user to understand the system and how to do things that are different from before.
