I work for a small nonprofit in Missouri. We were looking for a new volunteer management tool to streamline our systems. Civic Champs has been an amazing transitional tool! It hit all the high level points: kiosk, user friendly, ability to manage volunteers from anywhere. The tracking features have been amazing for quick stat pulling. Would totally recommend this system for nonprofits of all sizes.

Pros

Pros: user friendly, easy report pulling, hands-on volunteer management, easy sign-up process, excellent customer support. Tutorials and quick problem solving. Affordable

Cons

If I had to pick a con it would be that volunteers who are used to not having a login; now have to create one. This is more a user error vs a system error

### "Worth the switch!"

Switching to Civic Champs has been completely worth the time investment. It took us much less time to set up than our previous system, support for questions and getting started is fantastic, it is a much more user-friendly interface, and there are a plethora of ways to customize for what we need.

Pros

We’ve really loved the ease of getting our volunteers signed up for events and checked in when they arrive! It’s also really helpful to have waiver expirations and multiple questionnaire options for different types of applications. The app is also very simple and clean, which makes it especially easy for our older adults and those who are not as tech-saavy.

Cons

We had a hard time not having bulk registration, event templates, and event series. However, these are all in the new update and we’re looking forward to having those options to make our scheduling much quicker.

I have reports at my fingertips whenever I need to pull them. Anytime I need more specific information I know I can contact the Civic Champs teams for assistance. The recording keeping for our overall volunteer hours have gone up due to the ease of the system use. Overall it has been a great addition to our affiliate's database systems.

Pros

Our affiliate loves the simplicity of the database. It requires very little date entry from our volunteers and allows them to choose between signing in via the kiosk or a mobile app. Aside from the ease of use, the support from Civic Champs is the best we've encountered.

Cons

Older apple phones seem to have the most issues utilizing the app feature.

My overall experience with Civic Champs has been wonderful. I work for a nonprofit called Housing Hope, and like many nonprofits, we operate on a tight budget. Civic Champs allows me to do everything I need while remaining very affordable. Their customer service is consistently excellent, and they are always working to improve the platform based on customer feedback. I would highly recommend Civic Champs to anyone looking for a new volunteer management platform.

Pros

Civic Champs is extremely user-friendly, with an intuitive event management system that’s easy to set up and navigate. Their staff is responsive and helpful whenever issues arise, and they consistently roll out updates while actively valuing customer feedback. The platform is also simple for volunteers to use and manage, which makes coordination seamless.

Cons

No cons at the moment and if I did have a con, the Civic Champs team would be quick to address it! Great so far!

We really like Civic Champs. It fits our organization's needs better and is a better fit for our volunteers. It is not overcomplicated, but it does what we need!

Pros

The value for money is good. It's fairly priced. I chose Civic Champs because I thought it was easy to use. It turns out that it is very easy to use for both the volunteer manager and the volunteers. The sign-up process is also quite simple and easy to use.

Cons

It is somewhat limited in its capabilities, but we were requesting very specific and minor needs that our organization had. Not a problem at all.

What I liked most about Civic Champs is how intuitive and user-friendly the platform is. As a small nonprofit with limited bandwidth, having a simple, easy-to-use solution was absolutely essential—and Civic Champs delivered.

Cons

What I like least is that volunteers need to create their own Civic Champs account to sign up. For some, this can feel like an extra hurdle because it takes time and adds an additional step. That said, most volunteer platforms require this, so it’s not a major drawback.

We are LOVING Civic Champs!! We now have an easy way onboard volunteers with our waivers, accept applications, schedule and check in volunteers, and send reminders/communication before and throughout the event. It even integrates with our donor database for a seamless look at all of our stakeholders/contributors. Pros

Civic Champs is highly intuitive and user friendly for our camp volunteers. They have quickly adapted to the new system and phone app. The information we can now collect will serve our organization in multiple ways and save us a lot of administrative time!

I would like to be able to create multi-day events (ex. camp counselors signing up for a four day session of camp or volunteers sign up for an overnight retreat).

I found and implemented Civic Champs for volunteer coordination for this year's Montavilla Jazz Festival. It streamlined our onboarding paperwork and was a great communication tool with its automated email reminders.

Pros

Robust features and clean design. Definitely a modern day volunteer management tool!

Cons

Can't duplicate events or create templates yet, so data entry was time consuming. Group messaging is email only so far-- I'd love direct texting option, but I know there are other factors that prevent that feature for now.

Very satisfied especially with the customer responsiveness and many of the updates. I have already recommended Civic Champs to site administrators in our area.

Pros

Easy to set up, use, and access to data. I also like that users/volunteers can provide feedback about their volunteer experience each time they check out. The service representatives are very helpful and responsive.

Cons

There is no "bulk add" feature for volunteers to add themselves to recurring, weekly shifts all year round. Currently this has to be done manually one day/shift at a time and it is time consuming for volunteers and even more time consuming for site administrators.

Working with Civic Champs has been a wonderful experience. From professional hands-on support to rebuilding parts of the software to best suit our organization's needs. Staff have continued to be helpful and readily available to assist when we are facing challenges. Civic Champs has helped grow and expand our volunteer program significantly in just one year's time. With an increase of more than 2,000 hours in our first year. By cutting out time on administrative duties, time can be spent on training and recruiting new volunteers.

Pros

There are many wonderful things about Civic Champs. The greatest feature is providing volunteers with the opportunity to enter a reflection at the end of their shifts. This function has allowed off-site supervisors to know in real-time how each volunteer's experience is going.

Cons

While Civic Champs has many functions, we occasionally have volunteers who cannot complete any form of onboarding. Some volunteers are older and only have a home phone and no accessible email. OPTIONS has put procedures in place to continue paper documentation if the situation arises. Also, OPTIONS created a miscellaneous volunteer account to log hours of those who have not onboarded into the system.

Reason for choosing Civic Champs

We choose Civic Champs for the Kiosk mode and its ability to pull a variety of reports. Having an easy system for volunteers to select their names and clock in upon arrival has made the check-in process a breeze. Simplified reporting has been beneficial to identify trends and patterns in volunteering.

Overall have had an amazing experience with Civic Champs! We are so thankful for how engaged and helpful the team at CC is! I have asked them probably a million questions and have received a million amazing responses! It is not common to have a management database with such a high driven and helpful customer service team. Civic Champs exceeds at it!

Pros

Civic Champs has been great at allowing our animal rescue to efficiently track volunteer hours, contributions, scheduling and communication across the platform. With nearly 300 active volunteers we are able to provide an easy and all user friendly platform that keeps our volunteers engaged and active with the rescue!

Cons

I am excited to see the ways that Civic Champs will grow, I hope that a desktop user friendly system is in the works for those without smart phones or that are not tech savy can still use.

The customer service is next level good. I never have to wait long, I've never been frustrated, everyone is polite/ patient, and they always solve the problem.

Pros

I love that it provides volunteers with the flexibility to track both scheduled hours and those they put in during unscheduled times.

I wish I could export a months worth of sign-ups rather than just one day.

Our entire affiliate consists of 7 employees from \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] down to ReStore Associate so volunteer tracking and reporting falls onto one person, no matter the size of the volunteer base. Volunteer tracking used to be an extremely time consuming and tedious process but can now be done in just a few minutes and a few clicks.

Pros

Every employee I have had contact with at Civic Champs has been amazing. Any question or concern I have reached out to them with has been responded to very quickly and addressed in a timely and thorough manner. Not only has Civic Champs made the transition from a pen and paper method to an electronic method painless but they have made sure to make it their priority to ensure we are happy with the service and are truly interested in feedback on features we would like to have at our disposal. Highly recommend

Cons

At the moment the only things we think could be improved upon are the exporting of reports and the app. However, I do know that Civic Champs is constantly improving upon those things and we aren’t unhappy or concerned with the quality of either as is.

Reason for choosing Civic Champs

From our first zoom meeting with Civic Champs we felt that they were truly interested in providing the best service possible and that our happiness with the service was top priority to them. They were very attentive and willing to walkthrough the website with us multiple times and answer any and all questions we had. Also their price compared to their competitors is very reasonable.

### "Civic Champs is a great way to manage your volunteers"

I have used other volunteer software and Civic Champs is by far one of the easiest to use when creating volunteer events. Plus, their customer service is top notch. Overall, it has been a great experience working with Civic Champs.

Pros

That it is simple to create events and track volunteer hours and donations. Not a lot of volunteer software programs track donations from their volunteers.

Cons

Some volunteers have trouble setting up the app on their cells. I wish when setting up the kiosk mode that you could just pick the date and no matter what the activity the volunteer signed up for it would recognize that activity with the date. If volunteers don't have the app, and say you are doing 5 volunteer activities in one day you have to set up 5 different kiosks (tablets or desk top stations). I wish administrators had access to volunteer profiles to edit information. I also wished it asked for a home address for each volunteer. I also wish we could put a TEP picture or logo that volunteers could see when using the app.

Reason for choosing Civic Champs

For what we needed it seemed be the right fit and the donation feature is something that a lot of volunteer software programs do not offer. If a volunteer is happy then they are more likely to also donate money to your organization besides their time.

### "Great volunteer tool"

I use it for record keeping. I like the ability to call up total hours in different patterns, depending upon which form I am working with. AND I do not have to attempt to decipher hand-wirting !!!!!

Pros

It is always critical to Non-profits or other business's that depend upon volunteer labor to get work done economically. This site is great for tracking where our volunteers are and how long they were on-site.

Cons

It is (can be) tricky to get new folks signed into Civic Champs. Then since most are Senior Citizens their R.C. factor to computers is naturally high. Once we convince them to use it, they are sold, Check in go to work check out and forget it until tomorrow.
