Network Administrator Retail Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great product, best bang for your buck" December 16, 2021 5.0 Phantom has allowed us to distribute the ability to edit PDFs to more team members due to its great cost structure. This is a valuable tool for our associates. Prior to windows 10 the PDF printer included with Phantom and the basic reader software were excellent tools. Have had only positive experiences with Foxit and when the very occasional issue has been encountered their support team was responsive and helped resolve the issues. Pros Foxit PhantomPDF has all the same features as Adobe Acrobat at a fraction of the price. It also handles problematic PDFS better than Adobe. IE it will open PDF files that Adobe will not. Easy to implement and no subscription is required. Cons I can't think of any cons off hand and have had no complaints from users regarding this software. Very affordable with education pricing. Cons The font when editing the PDFs doesn't exactly blend in. E-signing is only available for the highest tier. Install was quick and painless. Most of our users have adapted to it real well, you will always have those few stubborn users that dont like change, but its not the programs fault. So far, great product for a fraction of the cost of the main competitor. Pros Easy deployment Does everything Adobe PDF products do at a lower price Interface is pretty user friendly Sales techs for the product are amazing Cons Adobe users take some time to get used to the layout The Tech Support has been a little questionable at times with some issues we have had, by that I just mean they have taken way too long to respond to us, but when they do resolutions are made quickly. Pros Just like I said... nothing works. It keeps telling to buy the product then tells me I already purchased it when I go to buy it again. Cons Nothing. Didn't get use any of it and the cloud editor got as far as only starting a blank pdf. Reason for choosing Foxit PDF Editor I need to insert documents and Foxit said to have that feature. Pros Feature packed, does almost anything with PDFs. The UI is generally clear and understandable. Cons The price. Foxit should know that LibreOffice draw does 90% of the pdf editing you really need for free, even difficult stuff like text replacing and text flow. It's not as professional and complete as PhantomPDF, but I think its price should be lowered a bit, or offered as a multi seats license. Compelling graphics and text that really communicate are no longer just for marketing and sales pieces. Every letter, technical description, white paper - everything we communicate must nail the message. Foxit makes it easy and fast to put create impactful messages - especially for those of us who are not graphic artists but still want to set the bar high. Pros Flexibility in editing pdf files with images and text, as well as overlays of text over images. It's easy to try out different fonts, colors, placement, etc. without having to move the document in and out of other tools such as Paint, Visio or Word. It's all there, in 1 place. Cons It's hard for a new user to master all the toolbars and find out how to do some of the common editing functions. The interface is different from Adobe, but just as feature-rich. The more I use PDF Editor, the easier it is to find what I need. Foxit offers tutorials and webinars to help with this also. Foxit came pre-installed on several Dell laptops I bought for my company, so the license included allowed me to test drive the software without buying it separately. Foxit is a good choice if you don't want to subscribe long-term to Acrobat or other bigger-name PDF software. Pros Foxit does a great job with documents that have many pages because it allows you to move them around in a visual interface. Foxit will encrypt and password protect files. It allows you to sign the document either with a JPG of your signature or with a digital certificate. It is feature rich. Cons The interface is not always user friendly.
