Pros I can use it at home as well as at the office, allows for flexibility. Cons We transitioned from ACS desktop system, had to figure out how to generate the reports we were used to using and Realm is not yet as e3asy to use that way. Alternatives considered [Tithe.ly](https://www.capterra.com/p/154664/Tithe-ly-Church-Giving/) Reason for choosing Realm Accounting Staying with same parent company seemed most sensible, they handled transition automatically, integrates with giving and other systems. I don't know everything about it, but if I need to learn, the customer service is excellent and the educational site - "Ministry Smart" - is extremely helpful. Pros It is much more user-friendly then the previous version I was using. I'm able to navigate the different pages easier as they are all right there on the left side of the page. I like the fact that I can't make major mistakes, as the software asks/highlights things that look questionable - for example, dates when reconciling bank statements. Cons Overall payroll is easy to use. I do sometimes have to search more for some tax entries/settings. It looked SO MUCH EASIER than the old system. Plus, I was able to update the chart of accounts as needed for my understanding. Pros I do like the fact that this is true accounting software and that every transaction has to be accounted for and can not be erased. It is relatively user-friendly. Cons I do not like the reports section. I find it difficult to use and does not give us the values that we are looking for in reporting to our General congregation Reason for choosing Realm Accounting We already subscribe to Realm for our church attendance. June 13, 2022 5.0 Pros Very easy to understand and work! With our previous system, we had quite a few accounts that were not properly being used or run throughout our budget. Realm Accounting pointed out these issues and made it very easy to set them up properly so they can be used in the manner we need. Cons The reports are difficult to pull sometimes with the specific information you are looking for. It also was an adjustment to understand the General Ledger Detail report and read the final total at the end of it. I love that it tells me if I have already used an invoice number and how I can easily look on the ledger to check if I have already paid a bill. I also love that I can add my invoices and it populates my check template and I can print the information onto my checks from Realm Accounting. ACS/Realm Customer Service Reps are awesome. They are very knowledgeable and happy to assist. Pros I love how easy it is to use. It makes reconciling a breeze and we can print checks from Realm Accounting. It logs our payments and helps prevent duplicate payments. We are able to separate donations and offerings into different fund categories and write checks for money to come from particular fund categories. It makes accounting so easy. Cons I use the accounting side for accounts payable and for running reports. I have not found anything I don't like about it as of yet. Review Source MR Melissa R. The tithing is integrated into the system, so you don't need to go in and manually enter them if you use their tithing program. The events section is always improving and adding in new features. They have lots of resources for people to learn about their product. Cons Having an accounting degree, the trainings can sometimes feel a little lacking. I've learned a few tricks but mostly self-taught myself their system. Our old QuickBooks did not integrate in so we had to manually add in all our accounts and vendors. Review Source JL Jeannie L. Pros All of the features I like. If I have a problem with something, you have a wonderful support group to call and get help with. I have converted 2 churches and trying to get the 3rd on board. I recommend it to anyone who needs easy to use church accounting software. Pros This is so easy to use. I like being able to look up account numbers on the screen I'm working on; like putting account numbers on invoices. Being able to look up by the name is also helpful. I find it helpful to have 2 or 3 screens open at a time also. Cons Integration of old processes was easy. My only problem has been getting some reports in csv format but the available ones keep increasing. We have been able to find work arounds for most kinks, but it does cause more work unfortunately. But we do enjoy the added features we didn't have before. The online giving is seamless!! Love it! Pros The integration was fairly smooth. I believe we only had one hiccup which took a bit of work to fix, but other than that it was easy. I really like the diverseness of all it can do. I don't believe we have scratched the surface of integrating all that we can do with Realm. Cons On the accounting and Payroll functions - I wish deposits could be made to liability accounts. This is critical as a church with more than one checking account. Also, I believe the payroll reports could be more specific.. I want to see more of the specific tax liability reports. Also good for a member data base. Pros It is set up to our specific needs, making the accounting procedures m much quicker. Cons The report feature has a glitch. There are a lot of help topics and if you can't find what you need, they are easy to contact. They have been very pleasant and willing to help and walk me through some of my questions. Cons When looking at a general ledger account it breaks the balance on a 12 month budget, so you have to change the date to 1/1/2022- 12/31/2022 to see the amount in that account. We also use the Payroll functionality and this makes doing our own payroll very straightforward. Pros The software is easy to use, it is cloud based so easy to access and the functionality for accounting and payroll is great. I was very pleasantly surprised how easy it was to learn Realm (including the online tutorials provided) and the flexibility it provides. Cons I wish there was more capability to customize the reporting. I'm not a huge fan of regularly exporting data and producing manually generated reports on a monthly basis. It is so easy and interacts with all our giving and other needs. I am so please we made the swich! Pros I like how the giving and accounting interact together. Cons The live person training is not good enough. We need more support than the online training offers. We had a online training thru video but it just didn't get what we needed. Good migration from ACS to Realm. For the most part, the layout and functions are well thought out. Cons There are some Accounting differences in Realm that we weren't expecting that caused a few errors. There is no feature for keeping the church calendar as a whole which forced us to use a separate program that does not interface with Realm. Review Source HS Herb S. Pros The ease of operation and the staff who is always friendly and ready to help in situations that require answers. Cons No there are clearly defined features that are needed for our use. Most of my problems/questions are solved the first time I contact them. Pros Input of information sends it to all the correct areas...no need to enter in several places. Input of payroll details automatically creates a correct record that makes tax time much easier. Cons Nothing major...just a learning curve for me.
