Pros What I like best about this program is it is easy to use, I am able to find the necessary information quickly. It is everything a tax preparer could ask for. Pros \-Error correction -Automatically calculates tax as you prepare the return -Listing of all available forms -Home Base feature for client list Cons \-It can be tricky to use if you are not used to working with it before. I waited over an hour. Pros Technically correct product. Feel like I can count on software. But it's expensive considering the lack of support. Cons Support hold time is terrible. The price may be high for some but in my opinion you get what you pay for. It allows me to send tax returns electronically and I also can send clients pdf copies of their returns. Pros Been using it for 5 years and the ease of finding things and rolling over information year over year is great. Cons Sometimes, it may be hard to find helpful information, but I've learned that you need to be precise with the words so information comes up. Review Source TM Terry M. I am very familiar with it so it seems easy to get used to and offers many features as options. I love the mfs vs mfj option also like the option to view only forms used instead of drilling down through dozens of forms. Cons Little expensive especially if you have to add more returns at the end. Very costly. Also, returns if any you don't use they do not credit any amount to the following year. Pros Proseries is easy to use and I especially like the forms based input method it utilizes. There are different subscription levels so you can tailor it to your needs and budget. I found the customer service to be very good and the support staff is knowledgeable. Cons It is desktop based, so you have to run updates. Pros This software is very informative and functional. It’s a professional program for professional tax preparers. I like it because you don’t have to guess where to plug in your numbers, the program has prompts to help you. It’s easy to navigate and easy to find the forms that you need. Cons I must admit that it takes a few practice rounds to be able to locate all the forms you need quickly. Once I switched to Intuit Pro Tax I could use their software to claim the maximum amount of refund I earned without having to manually submit a paper version amended return Cons Some of my information does not transfer from the previous year, so unfortunately I have to enter it This is more than likely not a software issue, rather an issue with coding. The website has an easy layout to understand, and being able to go back through and review before filing on your own is nice. Cons Product Phone Support Service is totally inferior and not what is expected. Running a tax office not wanting to wait hours on the phone on hold as they do not have enough experts to answer questions and provide solutions. Pros year-to-year data transfer works good and it is easy to add new clients and follow the forms input screen. Cons runs like a snail in Windows 10, updates have to be manually downloaded unless it is an update to an installed product, customer support to download software updates sends you to the community where little guidance is found to be useful, virtually no customer support provided by Intuit. Pros ProSeries has all of the functions that you would expect from professional tax software. The client organizers are well done and information seems to flow from the prior year to the current year well. Checks all of your numbers to make sure that they make sense and don't seem wrong. Pros The program has a lot of checkpoint where you need to stop and run a scan to make sure that everything looks good and further minimize your chances of getting audited by something that doesn't look right or might have been entered incorrectly. Cons Although this is done for safety measure there is a lot of verification that needs to happen before you can login to your account such as sending codes to phones or emails. I appreciate the safety precaution but don't feel that I need to do it every single time I login especially once it recognizes my computer or device.
