Pros PDF pro is easy to use. Its editing and conversion features are great and it costs much less than the competition. Cons For some reason I cannot open more than one PDF at a time; the competition allows that. I do not understand why that feature is lacking. Buyer beware" January 28, 2025 2.0 I suspect customer support is a bot. I keep getting the same "rep" even though I have created new ticket numbers and have asked several times for my case to be escalated. No new solution is ever offered, and even though my problem started 10 days after purchasing (I've got about 40 conversations to prove it), I keep getting the response that no refunds will be given past 30 days. I am beyond frustrating. With Adobe you get xx licenses per subscription, and in order to add beyond that, you have to delete a previous one. So they recognize you are using multiple devices under the one subscription. I don't think PdfPro technology can do this. I think they ALLOW multiple devices, but you can only run one at a time. I am kicking myself for trying to save some money. What little I saved I have more than spent in time, not to mention at this time the emotional energy because I am furious at the circularity of the support emails. Pros As an alternative to Adobe Acrobat, it was pretty good, and for a good price. However..... Cons I was told my license would work on 2 devices, in my case a desktop and laptop. However, the only way I can every get this to work is by uninstalling/reinstalling every time I switch devices. Regardless of the bazillion conversations online with support. Very cumbersome when I need to quickly open a pdf. I give up. I highly recommend PDF Pro to all users who, like me, are casual users of PDF documents they can edit. convert, etc.. Pros I rarely leave reviews. I am making a rare exception in this case. First, the PDF Pro software does everything I need it to do. Not as many bells & whistels as Adobe, but that's okay. How often do we use those bells & whistles anyhow? Second, it is afforable. Far more affordable than Adobe. And third, I can't say enough about the customer service. Prompt, helpful, and friendly. Cons I only started using the software this week. The only "con" (if I can call it that) is that the user interface is not intuitive. But there is a very helpful Knowledge Base with helpful instructions and images that covers most questions. Open one document, then in the ribbon where the file names appear, click on the orange circle with the white "plus" sign in it, and then "open in a new window". Pros PDF Pro's secret weapon is its ability to export to Word format, which is brilliant because it allows me to bring read-only PDFs into a dynamic text editing workflow. Cons I think he UI can be a bit clunky at times, and I find the OCR to be a little bit hit and miss, especially when compared to some macOS alternatives. Also, I miss the ability to create archival quality PDF/A format files which is important for long-term archiving purposes. Maybe it has this ability, but the UI is such that I've missed it. The look makes one wonder whether it has the full capabilities and reliabilities that, in fact, it does I wish the license were more like a "book" license... it would be extremely nice to be able to use the s/w on my laptop (approx 2x / month) when I'm NOT needing to also use the s/w on my desktop - it's impractical to purchase a second license for only two very quick uses per month. Also, it would be nice if a user's manual were available (maybe one is, but I just don't know how to find it).
